By the Lord Lieutenant- General and General Governor of Ireland. A PROCLAMATION. WODEHOUSE. WHEREAS, James Stephens has been an active Member of a Treasonable Conspiracy against the Queen's authority in Ireland, and escaped from the Richmond Prison on the Twenty- fourth day of November last. nOW wE. being determined to bring the said James Stephens to Justice, Do hereby offer a Reward of ONE THOUSAND POUNDS to any person or persons who shall gfiiro such laiforBtation as shall lead to th. e Arrest of the said Jamas Stephens ; and a further Eeward of One Thousand Founds to any person or persons WHO SHALL il ft, H H S T the said Barnes Stephens. AND WE do hereby offer a further Eeward of THREE HUNDRED POUNDS to any Person or Persons who shall give such information as shall lead to the Arrest of any one whomsoever who has knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatsoever in his Escape from Arrest, the said James Stephens. And We do also hereby offer a FREE PARDON, in addition to the above- mentioned EE WARD, to any Person or Persons concerned in the Escape of the said JAMES STEPHENS who shall give such Information as shall lead to his Arrest as aforesaid. Description of the above- named JAMES STEPHENS:— JAMES STEPHENS is about 42 years of age; 5 feet 7 inches high; stout make; broad high shoulders; very tight active appearance; fair hair, bald all round top of head, wore all his beard, which is sandy, slightly tinged with grey, rather long under the chin, but slight round the jaw approaching the ears; broad fore- head ; tender eyes, which defect seems to be constitutional, and has a peculiar habit of closing the left eye when speaking; high cheek bones, and rather good looking countenance; hands and feet remarkably small and well formed, and he generally dressed in black clothes. DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned convict, whose ticket of licence has been revoked:— Patrick Lough- ran, 36 years of ago, 5 foet inches high, stout make, light brown hair tinged with gray, light brown eyebrows, blue eyes, regular nose, regular mouth, round visage, fresh complexion, cut mark on forehead over left oyo, and ODO lower front tooth wanting; is a rag gatherer, end a native of the county Roscommon. Ho was convicted of cow stealing at tho Trinity Sossions hold at Ballymote, county Sligo, on tho 21st of June, 1861, and sentenced to 6 years penal servitude. Information to Superintendent Ryan, No. 3, Exchange- court, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. ° December 15/ 1866. DUBLIN CASTLE, 5th October, 1866. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that the body of James M'Kelvey, who was murdered by some person or persons at present unknown, was found at Bengorm, in the parish of Gartan, barony of Kilmacrenan, and county of Donegal, on the 30th September last. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of tho person or persons who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by Edmund Y. Peel, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Letterkenny, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Conroy, native of Long- ford, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of December, 1866, in tho barony of Uppercross, parish of Palmerstown, stolen a gray frieze frock coat ( long make), a pair of dark tweed trowsers, and a tweed vest having sleeves and back of barracan material, all value for £ 1 18s., the property of Hugh Heffernan, of Palmerstown:— 40 years of ege, 5 feet 5 inches high, 8tout make, sallow complexion, thin faco, blue eyes, long nose, light brown hair and whiskers; wore a blue cloth cap, old brown friezo coat, dark tweed trowsers, brown tweed vest; he is a labourer, and may return to Edgeworthstown, Longford. WHEREAS, on the evening of the 10th instant, about 7 o'clock, as the railway train from Dublin was paSSing Renmore, two stones were thrown at it by some person or persons unknown, one of which stones severely wounded a passenger. I hereby offer a reward of £ 20 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. DESCRIPTION of James Kelly, native of Spiddal, who stands charged with having, on tbe 28th of No- vember, 1866, in the barony of Moycullen, parish of Moycullen, absconded from his employer, Coleman Darcy, with tho sum of £ 5 10s., intrusted to his charge for the purchase of eggs:— 36 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, fair faco, gray eyes, cocked nose, light fair hair, wears all bis beard which is light; wore a jim crow hat, old tweed coat, old black trowsers, black cloth vest; has a slovenly gait when walking, and steps long; speaks with a Scotch accent, having resided for somo time in Glasgow; ho may endeavour to emigrate to America from Londonderry, or some other port. WHEREAS, on the evening of the 8th instant, John Shea, labourer, was struck with a stone by James Byrne, from the effects of which he died on the 9th. Townland of Kilcross, barony of Gowran, county of Kilkenny. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of said James Byrne. Payable on conviction. R. G. DESCRIPTION of an ass's car, the property of Mary Walsh, which was stolen from tho lands of Ballin- curra, parish of Pollrone, barony of Ivork, on the 14th December, 1866:— body ot car made of larch deal, loft shaft broken, and repaired with a piece of hoop stropped round it, body of car painted a dark blue, the name " James Barry Dowling" painted on right sido, wheels nearly new, painted rod, axle painted red. DESCRIPTION of Richard Murphy, Patrick Murphy, and Nicholas Murphy, natives of Ballymagill, who stand charged with having, on tho 21st of September, 1866, in tho barony of Knocktophor, parish of Lister- lin, struck Michael Hogan with a stone on the head, from tho effects of which he died on tho 22nd inst.:— 1. 26 years of ago, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, long face, blue eyes, long nose, fair hair; wore a black jerry hat, blue coat, tweod trow- sors, brown vest. 2. 23 years of age, 5 foet 6 inches high, stout make fair complexion, short face, gray eyes, cocked nose, fair hair; wore a black jerry hat, blue coat, cord trowsers, brown tweed vest. 3. 19 years of ago, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight make, fair comploxion, long face, gray eyes, thin nose, fair hair; wore a black jerry hat, blue pilot coat, tweed trowsers and vest. Walsh, esq., J. P., whilst on his way to Kilclonfert Chapel:— 1. 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout make, dark complexion, round face, gray eyes, common noso, dark hair; woro a black cap, light frieze coat, cord trowsors, strong shoes or brogues; had no whiskers or beard. 2. 28 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, dark complexion, full face, dark eyes, cocked nose, black hair; wore a low black felt bat, dark frieze coat, light cord trowsers; had no whiskers or beard. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that between the hours of 8 and 9 o'Clock, on the evening of the 21st of February last, Head Constable Jeremiah Sullivan was fired at by J. Geary, when endeavouring to arrest said J. Geary, in the Town of Newcastle, Barony of Glenquin, in the County of Limerick. His Excellency for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said J. Geary. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by Lucas A. DESCRIPTION of Thomas M'Cauley, an active Fenian agent, and a deserter from the 34th Regi- ment:— 5 feet 10 inchos high, dark comploxion, with heavy beard, dark hair, smart and well- posted, has a slight peculiarity about the nose, the alee being slightly drawn up, showing tho septum; fairly educated ; deserted from the 34th regiment, at Portsmouth, in May, 1854; is a native of Abboyshrule, county Long- ford. The Constabulary are hereby directed to use their best endeavours to arrest him ; he arrived lately from America. Constabulary Office, Dublin Castle, December 1, 1866. ( 8200 D. F.) P., threatening to shoot him, and saying that he would blow bis brains out:— 28 years of age, 5 feet inches high, stout make, dark complexion, broad face, gray eyes, short nose, dark brown hair; wore a gray cap, dark frock coat, light trosvsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of Mary Fennin ( No. 88), who, on tho 15th November, 1866, absconded from the Spark's Lake Relormatory School, at Monaghan:— 13 years ot ago, 4 ( eet 10 inches high, slight make, fresh com- plexion, dark brown bair cut close at the back of her head and to the ears in front, brown eyes, small nose, large mouth, oval visage; formerly belonged to Trim, county Meith; parents reside at Balronnet, county Kildare. Tho school dress consists of dark blue cotton dress, pray tweed petticoat, blue check pinafore, white kerchief, blue cotton stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of her conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture her with £ 1. ( B. 63147— 7879.)
