Description of a man who is charged with murdering his son, at No. 15, Neal's- passnge, Great Earl- street, Seven- dials, on the morning of the 30th ultimo : RICHARD JEFFREY, 30 years of age, 6 feet 5 inches high, rather thin, very dark complexion, hair, eyes, and whiskers ( meeting under chin), and small mouth ; dressed in black frock coat with pockets on hips, litfht veBt and trousers with stripe down sides, and black hat. Description of CHARLES HARDACRE, charged with forgery, late of Bolton- le- Moors, Lancashire, general provision dealer, who absconded on the 30th ultimo : he is a person of slender build, about 34 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, pale looking, sharp thin features, prominent nose, piercing- loolcing: eyes, with a peculiar uneasy motion in them, dark brown hair, had when he left Bolton, large prominent bushy whiskers, which met under his chin, of a brown colour, rather tinged with red, he is bald from the forehead to the crown of the head, walks rather sharp, in a stooping position, has a peculiar twitch of the head when talking to or looking at any one, when reading he holds his head down on one side, and appears to be very near sighted ; when last seen at Sowerby Bridge Station in a train going to Hull, was dressed in a light coat, dark vest, dark tweed or plaid trousers, had on a dress hat, a plaid scarf, with a jet black pin, also a dark or black Albert chain ; he had witti him a satchel, which he carried in his hand, and a portmanteau, about three fourths of a yard long, believed to be a light brown one. Two warrants have been issued for his apprehension. Information to be given to the Union Banking Company, Bolton ; to J. Broughton Edge, Solicitor, Bolton ; or to Mr. J. Stolen from the person of a gentleman, at Skipton, on the night of the 17th instant, a gold lever Watch, very thin case, maker's name worn out, No. 13115 or 13113. Stolen from the person of a gentleman by a common prostitute at Bristol on the night of the 14th instant, a gold hunting Watch, white face, maker Clymer, Bristol, No. 8292, with a gold Albert Chain, composed of long links with 3 or 4 small rings between each link attached. Stolen on the 11th instant from the person of John Higgs, a stonemason, at Wantage, Berks, a silver Geneva Watch, double cases, has ' H.' scratched on the inside of the back inner case near the keyhole. On the night of the 16th instant a silk warehouse, in the borough of Chesterfield was feloniously entered, and 21 lbs. of raw Bengal Silk ( been washed) stolen. During the night of the 16th instant, the dwelling- house of B. Bush, of Little Wilbraham, Cambs, was broken and entered, and the followinc property stolen therefrom : a Half Sovereign, a counterfeit Five Shilling Piece, three or four Shillings, and three Fourpenny Pieces. Supposed by a man of the following description, who has been previously convicted of a similar offence : a labourer, about 27 years of age, 6 feet 2 or 3 inches high, long light hair and whiskers ( inclined to sandy), right ankle twisted which causes him to tread over the heel of the right shoe ; dressed in old cloth cap, and old cord tiousers with a grease mark on the seat; supposed to have a wife living in the neighbourhood of London. He is likely to attempt to pass the counterfeit five shilling- piece. Information to be given to Inspector Greig, Police Station, Bottisham, Cambs.— Bow- street, August 20. Between 10 p. m. on the 12th and 5 a. m. on the 13th instant the dwelling- house of John Broome, Monks Coppen- hall, was entered, and the following articles stolen therefrom : a brown cloth sac Jacket, braided, much worn ; a meerschaum Pipe and Case, the bowl resting in imitation of eagle's claw, the stem has been broken and is pieced with ivory ; a pair of white Stockings ; and about 2 lbs.' of Mutton. On the night of the 13th or early on the following morn- ing, the Grays Railway Station on the London, Tilbury, and Southend Extension Railway, was broken and entered, and the following stolen therefrom : about nine machine stitched Hats, a child's Hat, a meerchaum silver mounted Pipe, a Clothes Brush with handle and mahogany back, two pairs of brown Gloves, one old the other new, a black and violet Scarf, a Dictionary with appendix ( Routledge), a brown paper parcel containing some dirty linen, and about 6s. in Coppers. Infor- mation to be given to Sergeant Dobson, Orsett ; or to Police Constable Fuller, Grays, Essex.— Bow- street, August 17. Between the hours of 11 p. m. on the 10th arid 6' 30 a. m. on the 11th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. William Main, Church- street, Slough, was entered by a cellar window which was left unfastened, and the following articles stolen there- from : a pair of silver Table Spoons, nearly new ; two silver Tea Spoons, much worn ; a pair of silver Sugar Tongs ; a pair of plated albata Table Spoons ; a pair of strong lace up Boots, medium size, iron tips on toe and heel, square- headed nails, and brass eyelet- holes set in patent leather; a pair of light spring- side Boots, medium size, were too long for the wearer, and turned up at the toes; a black cloih Overcoat, single- breasted, loose sleeves which have been joined, black alpaca lining, one pocket outside left breast; and a small square mahogany Box, containing about 7s. in copper Money. During the night of the 12th instant, the dwelling- house of Rebecca Simons, in the borough of Louth, was burglariously broken and entered, and the following property stolen there- from : two silver Cream Jugs, one marked ' 0.' on the side, the other lined with gold, bruised, and has a small hole at the side ; two silver Table Spoons, marked 1S.'; two silver Salt ditto, marked 10.'; six silver Tea ditto, nearly new, fiddle pattern ; and a beaded snap Purse, much worn, containing six Shillings. Information to be given to the Head Constable, Town Hall, Louth, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, August 15. Between 1' 30 and 4 p. m. on the 10th instant the dwelling- house of Samuel Stock, Glebe Houte, West Tilbury, Essex, was broken into, and the following articles and money stolen therefrom : a grey Overcoat with black velvet collar bound with black cloth ; a black cloth under Coat, home made, with black buttons; two pairs ol Trousers, one black cloth with the nap of cloth reversed on backs of legs, the other a sort of black corded cloth; a black cloth Vest; two Scarfs, one red and black, the other check ; four pairs of women's white Stockings, marked ' S. Guiles, 1862'; a coloured Shirt; a white linen Shirt; a white Collar; a mouth Scarf; two Watch- keys; a silk Umbrella ; two silk neck Scarfs; a black silk Jacket; a white handled Razor; a gold Key, marked 1 Aigni, G.' on the inside ; ftvo Tea Spoons LJI! a pair of Sugar Tongs, all three german silver and iio... red on tops of handles; £ 9 in Gold ; and about £ 1 in Silver. A reward ot £ 1 will be paid for the apprehension of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property. Between the hours of 10 p m. on the 10th and 7 a. m. on the 11th instant, the office belonging to Mr. James George, of Bentley, near Willenhall, agent to the Earl of Lichfield, was broken into, and a brass surveyor's Level, ' Troughton and Simms, London,' engraved upon it, a Russia leather Writing Case, and about 16s. worth of Postage Stamps, stolen there- from. Information to be given to Inspector Thompson, Constabulary Station, Willenhall, Staffordshire— Bow- street, Auqust 15. Between 12 noon and 5 p. m. on the 11th instant, a dwelling- house at Acomb, near York, was entered by skeleton keys, and the followiog property was stolen therefrom: a gentleman's gold lever Watch, jewelled in thirteen holes, scratch on dial near the figure ' 12', the number ' 13' marked on back of inBide case, gold Albert Chain and gold Key, much worn, attached; six silver Tea Spoons and a pair of silver Sugar Tongs, all matked ' M '; and £ 2 in silver. Information to be given to Superintendent Parkin, West Riding Con- stabulary, Tadcaster, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, August 16. During the night of the 6th instant, three houses in the village of Hertingfordbury, were entered, and the following property stolen therefrom: 2 silver Table Spoons, fiddle pattern, marked' B,' 3 ditto, old pattern, marked ' L. R.' 4 silver Tea Spoons, fiddle pattern, marked ' B.' 4 large and 6 small plated Forks, fiddle pattern, all marked with a small cross cut in the back. 1 plated Butter Knife, albert pattern. 1 pair elastic- side BootB, recently repaired, 3 leather Straps, and 1 Tape. 1 fine damask Table Cloth, 2 yards square, marked ' Brown / 63.' 1 grey Overcoat, black velvet collar. 1 pair 6pring- side Boots, men's size, new. 1 pair Balmoral Boots, ditto. 2 pairs Boots, boy's size, laced up in front. 1 alpaca Umbrella, white handle. 2 coloured cotton Handkerchief. 1 cotton Dress, narrow purple and white stripes, A reward of £ 10 is offered for the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders. During the night of the 10th instant, the dwelling- house of Mrs. Stenson, of Newfound Pool, near Leicester, was burglariously entered by forcing back the fastening of a window and the following property stolen therefrom: A revolver Pistol, with mahogany case; an electro plated sugar Basin; a pair of silver sugar Bows, marked' C'; two small old fashioned silver tea Spoons, either plain or marked ' I. C. S,'; a child's half pint silver Mug, marked ' J. F. S. C,'; a top of a silver pepper castor; an electro plated round snuff Box, with Medallion likeness of George Stephenson on the lid ; an electro plated tea caddy Spoon; and about half a pound of Cigars, and half a Ham. Information to be given to Superintendent Burdett, Aylestone near Leicester.— Bow- street, August 13. Between the hours of 3 a. m. and 6 p. m. on the 8th instant, the cottage of George Green, in the parish of Pyrton, Oxon, Laborer, was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : sixteen Half- sovereigns; 3s. or 4s. in Silver; a dai k crossbar silk Handkerchief; and three clean calico Shirts with single plait on each side of fronts, one very old, and has been mended in several places. Supposed by a tramp, who was seen in the immed; ate neighbourhood: about 30years f of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, walks erect; dressed in dark grey jacket, dirty white or grey troniera. and dark cloth Scorch cap With no stiings; represents himself as a shipwrecked sailor. In forcing open a tea caddy about an inch of blade of pocket knife was broken off; the . iece was left behind. Stolen from the dwelling- house of Mr. Peter Headly, at Whittlesea, which was forcibly entered on the night of the 10th instant, an old black loose made cord Coat, an old hleck lappel Coat, a black cloth sue Overcoat with a pocket outside and inside each breast which contained a small pair of blunt pointed scis- ots, and a chocolate and white coloured nu< v cotton Handkerchief the sleeves lined throughout with tlirtnel ( covered at the tops with part of a lambswool stocking) ; > i pair of small black cloth Garters, a small Hand Bell, a smoked Ham weighiig a'mut lOibs., and a Pig's Cheek. Supposed to have been stolen, during the night of the 31st ultimo, from a field in tbe Addiscombe- toad, Croydon a small broWn horse Colt, 2 m- Mitbs old. Also, during the night of the 1st instant, from a field near the Thornton heath Railway Station, Croydon, a brown Mare, 16 hands high, large body, lonu inane and tail, in low condition, sand crack in off fore hoof(.~ Metropolitan Polic:, W division, August 17. P.' and on the off side with a star, and red stroke across the loins, the property of Mr. Henry Paddy. Information to be given to Inspector Bradley, Tettenhall, near Wolverhampton— Bow- strcei, August 15. Supposed to have been ' stolen from a field at Coseley on the night of the 7th instant, a dark brown mare Pony, 12£ hands high, short tail, and in good condition. Fonnd, supposed to have been stolen, on the turnpike roan at Redhill in the parish ot Wrington, Somerset, a light brown mare Donkey, witu black face aud nose, rather aged, and in good condition. Infoi mation to be given to Superintendent Gillanks, Somerset Constabulary, Axhiidge. — liow - & rett, August 16. Supposed to have been stolen, from a field a: Stanton, near Ashbourne, on or ab ut the 14th ultimo, a dark rown entire Ass, 7 years old, the property of Mr. Joseph Jackson, of Stanton. Information to be given to Inspector Williams, Uttoxeter, or to Police Constable George Wood, May field, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, August 13. Supposed to hav « been stolen on the night of the Gth instant, from a field at Middleton Hall, King's Norton, two Cart Mares, the property ot Mr. Greenway, one grey, 16J bands high, the other black, 16 hands high, white star on fore l ead, and white off hind foot. Whoever will give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders, if stolen, shall receive £ 20 reward. Information to be given to Superintendent Humphries, King's Heath. — Bov- siroei, August 13. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT Absconded from Newport, Monmouthshire, on the 7th instant, charged with embezzling £ 7 5s., the monies of his employer, Mr. James Graham, auctioneer and accountant ROBERT SALNOW, 20 years of age, 5 feet S Or 7 inches high, sallow complexion, small light moustache, h'ttte hair on point of chin; dressed in dark coat, light trousers, high crowned hat, and generally wears a poncho overcoat. Sup- posed to have left Newport to join a theatrical company in Norfolk. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Huxtable, Town Hall, Newport.— Bom- street, August 20. Absconded on the 16th instant, from No. 3, Greville- street, St. Andrews, stealing, stealing £ 3 lis. 9d., a youth, Iff years of ace, fair complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes, lisps, and dressed in a light brown shooting coat, cloth vest, and co* d trouseis,— Metropolitan Police, G Division, August 20. Stolen on the 16th instant, from No. 94^, Wentworth- street, Whitechapel: a 60 Rouble Note, a 26 Rouble ditto, a 10 Prussian Dollar ditto, a 3 ditto ditto, 40 Dullars, a small silver Tankard, and a gilt Watch. By two men: one is 25 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, and dressed in daik coat, " vest, and trousers ; the other is 23 years of age, 5 feet C inches hk'h. and dressed in dark clothes.— Metropolitan Police, II Di vision, August 20. Description of two men charged with stealing 61 lbs. of Lambswool, which has been' recovered, and which was adver- tised in the Police Gazette of the 8th instant ( the Ba* and Horsehair are still missing). One, who gave his name JOHN WILLIAMS, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, ut made, round shouldered, light brown or sandy liair, % e dy whiskers under chin, full fresh face, downcast counte- uaf. f- a; diessed in dark cloth monkey jacket, dark brown trouseis, and strong navvy boots. The ether, < iid not give his name, about f> 0 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, slender make, dark hair and whiskers turning grev, sallow and narrow face ; dressed in light drab loose long skirted coat, dark trousers and black waterproof overalls. The first- named man spoke Welsh fluently. One of them had a wallet or a unite slop, in which was the stolen bag, which has two or three white patches on it, and can be identified. They were HL- i- ompanied by a woman, about 25 years of age, stout and short, full fresh face, wore a laige brown shawl, and had a baby. Information to be given to Police Constable E. Jones, Llanfylltn, Montgomeryshire, who holds a warrant for their apprehension.— Bow- str. et, August 20.
