All receipt books and notices were paid for out of the parish cess, and so were the expenses attending the burial of the children on the parish; the churchwarden and collector's books were furnished in like manner, although no applotment was made for them. The 71, that was applottcd for the support of fire escapes in the year 1862 was not handed over to the society, it being only voted conditionally, pending a bill then in Parliament empowering the Corporation to form a fire brigade, and which they have done. I should mention that there were 5 s. per year allowed for clothing for the deserted children, although only applotted for in the year 1862. ( signed) Henry Flint, 1 March 1864.
