The Names of Accomplices and Accessories, vAth every particular which may lead to their Apprehension. A Description, as accurate as possible, of Proper!, that has been stolen, and a minute Description of Stolen Horses, for the purpose of tracing and recovering them. W-," as they cannot be published without his •• authority. INFORMATIONS MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. At an adjourned inquest held on the 20th ultimo, the coroner's jury returned a verdict of ' Wilful Murder' against some person or persons unknown, for the murder of a male • child found in the Shropshire Union Canal, at the parish of Llandisilio, Montgomeryshire, on the 18th January last; it appeared to have been in the water about fourteen days, and to be between two and three months old; dressed in a white calico shirt, kms flwmel, the top lined with calico, flannel binder, small pattern lilac print nightgown, white woollen hood, and two calico napkins; the clothes all appear to be new and neatly made. A reward of £ 60 will be paid by the Government to any person who shall- give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murderer or murderers of the s » fd child ; and Sir George Grey will advise the grant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to the same result. Stolen on the ICth instant, from a gentleman in Saville- row, a silver lever Watch, * W. B.' engraved in centre of case, face cracked.— Metropolitan Police, C Division, March 16. Stolen on the 10th instant, from a gentleman in Saville- row, a gold lever Watch, gold dial- plate, maker Jameson, Dublin.— Metropolitan Police, C Division, March 16. The gold Watch, No 2900, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 14th instant, as stolen from the person at Dar- lington, has been recovered.- Bow- street, March 10. Stolen from the person of a gentleman, at 3 p. m. on the 12th instant, a silver verge Watch, with cream- coloured dial, maker's name Alexander, Liverpool, has a small piece broken off the dial near the figure 12. Information to be given at the Town Hall, Oldham.— Bow- street; March 14. Stolen from the person of a gentleman, in the borough of Hertford, during the election on the 11th instant, a double- cased gold hunting Watch, patent lever movements, maker Delolme, Rath bone- place, London, No. 2150. £ 3 reward will be paid on the recovery of the watch, and conviction of the offender'or offenders. Stolen on the 7th instant, from a man, at No. 1, Burnet's buildings, Crown- street, Soho: a gold hunting Watch, makers Smith, Gamble, & Brougham, Dublin, ' A, R. P.' on outside case ; a gold finger Ring, chased, with sardonyx stones ; a gold scarf Pin set with turquoise, and two small pendants with turquoise.— Metropolitan Police, F Division, March 14. Stolen on the 6th instant, from a'man, in a brothel in Charles- street, Drury- lane : a gold Geneva Watch, makers A. Alliez & Emitaz, No. 8254, and a gold Albert Chain attached. By a prostitute, 18 years of age, short stature.— Metropolitan Police, F Division, March 14. Stolen from the person of a gentleman in Darlington, Durham, on the evening of the 7th instant, a gold Watch, gold dial, maker Farmer, Stockton, No. 9498, had a heavy gold secret link Guard and a gold Seal set with a yellow topaz attached. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Robson, Police Station, Darlington, Durham .- Bow street, March 11. Further information respecting the two men and two women advertised in the Police Gazette of the 29th ultimo | charged with robbing a man on the highway, near Hexham! ARSON AND WILFUL BURNING. I of £ 3 10s. They were committed, on the 1st instant, to About 8 o'clock on the 5th instant, some person or persons! Morpeth Gaol for three calendar months each under the set fire to a bean rick and strsw stack at Wheatley, near Oxford, | Vagrant Act. MICHAEL NISBIT stated that he was a the property of Mr. Thomas Chapman. £ 10 reward will be given to any person who will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of thu offender or offenders. Information to be given to Mr. R. Fernsby, Deputy- Chief Constable, or to Inspector Charles Yates, County Police Station, Oxford.— Bow- street, March 11. • I FORGERY. Description of a man who on the 5th ultimo uttered a forged Cheque or Order upon the Dudley and Westbromwich Banking Company for the sum of £ 16 10s. 6d., to Mr. R. T. Hawley, of The King's Head ' hotel, Worcester- street, Bir- mingham : 50 years ol age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, grey hair and whiskers, round features, partly bald, high forehead, pleasant in his manner, and of gentlemanly demeanor ; dressed in loose blue jacket, black trousers, Wellington boots, blue over- coat ; had in his possession a brown leather portemanteau; he has been heard of at ' Docura' hotel, Southampton, also at the ' Jack of Newbury' hotel, Berks; at both places he has passed forged orders ; when at Birmingham he passed in the name of BAYLEY, and said he was connected with the firm of Bayley Brothers, Water- street, Liverpool; at other times hi ives the name of THOMPSON. Information to be given to nspector Manton, Detective Department, Birmingham.— Bow- street, March 14. Obtained on the 1st instant, by a forged cheque, from NOB. 8, 9, and 10, Northumberland- place, Commercial- road, Stepney, Linen Drapery, consisting of dress pieces, calico, stockings, & c., to the amount of £ 15 6s. 9d. By a man and woman : the man, o feet 5 inches high, has no moustache or imperial but wears false ones when he goes out, small dark whiskers shaved back to his ears, eyes affected ( supposed with cold) : the woman dressed in deep mourning, lace fall with three rows of crape in frills across it; had with her a black silk dress, a violet moire' antique dress, and a new black cloth walking jacket with skirt ; linen marked ' Dorah Hetsch.' They had an infant, 3 months old, dressed in red pelisse with long black ribbon behind and white hood : the child is seldom carried out.— Metropolitan Police, K Division, March II. Absconded from Nottingham, charged with forgery, JOHN SPRAY, machine builder, about 48 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, thin face, prominent forehead, light brown hair very thin on top of head, small whiskers, walks upright, and is of respectable appearance ; it is supposed lie will try to given to Mr. Wm. Burniston, Chief Police Officer, who holds a warrant for his apprehension, and will pay any reasonable expense that may be incurred .- Bow street, March 7. Stolen from the person of a man at Portsmouth, on the 2nd instant, a J- piate silver Geneva lever hunting Watch, maker Roskill, Liverpool, No. 13847. Information to be given to Mr. Richard Barber, Chief Superintendent of Police, Ports- mouth.— Bow- street, March 11. Description of a man charged with stealing from the person : a native of Wapping, a coal- whipper, 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion and hair, high cneehWmo, short neck ; dressed in blue monkey jacket, Description of a man charged with highway robbery : a native of Wapping, 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion and hair, no whiskers; dressed in a monkey jacket, fustian trousers and Vest, black cloth cap, and lace boots. He is was convicted at Maidstone in August last, and sentenced to six months' imprisonment.— Metropolitan Police, K Division, March 7. Supposed to have been stolen, from the person of Jane Robinson, of 109, Bold- street, Liverpool, at Carnarvon, about the 2nd instant, or between Carnarvon and Liverpool, via Chester, or at Liverpool, a light leather Purse, with steel spring, containing five £ 5 Notes, about .£ 10 in Gold, a small Brooch, with an Irish diamond set in silver, and a small gold Teakettle. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Stephen Davies, Carnarvon, or ' to Mr. Superintendent Kehoe, Central Police, Liverpool.— Bo w- street, March 7. Further particulars of t' je two men charged with robbery in the city of Ripon, as advertised in the Police Gazette of the 4th instant. One of the r jen has been apprehended in Leeds, who gave the name of THOMAS METCALFE, a native of Ripon, but latterly resided at Leeds. The other is still at large, and is of the foil . owing description : WILLIAM SUT- CLIFFE, alias CURLY BILL, a native of New Town, Leeds, about; 33 years of f> , ge, 5 feet inches high, stoutly built, yery broad chest an d shoulders, large round face, thick lips, short neck, dark ha'a- curly behind, sallow complexion, and no whiskers ; dressed > when last seen on the 2nd instant, in a grey fixture cloth sr^ t, and a billycock hat. Information to be BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. During the night of the 13th instant, the dwelling- b^'— and shop of Thomas Jones, grocer, Clun. Salop, was broken and entered, and about 12 yards of coarse Calico, and Is. worth of Coppers stolen therefrom. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Baxter, Church Stretton, or to P. C. ( 78) Wm. Precce, Clun, Salop.— Bow- street, March 18. Between 12 midnight on the 5th and 8 a. m. on the 7th instant, the pawnshop of Mr. William Hirst, No. 6, Penny- street, Blackburn, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen: a patent lever silver Watch, white dial, maker Bell. Liverpool, No. 1860; a silver Geneva Watch, star silver dial, No. 6714 ; an eight- days silver lever Watch, cream- coloured dial, maker T. Sisson, Preston, No. 32879, imitation platina movement, opens in the back; a silver lever Watch, engine- turned case. No. 2256 ; a silver verge Watch, battered plate on movement; a gold skeleton lever Watch, cream- coloured dial, maker R. Sagar, Blackburn, No. 1007 ; a silver verge Watch, No. 70101 ; a small lever Watch, No. 12271; a silver verge Watch, No. 79- 5 ; and £ 1 8s. 6d. in silver. On the 7th instant, the silver watch No. 32879 was pledged at the shop of Mr. Marsh, No. 225, Deansgate, Manchester, by a man, who gave the name of JOHN TAYLOR, factory operative, residing at No. 27, Wood- street, Manchester ( which address is found to be false, the natae is also supposed to be fictitious), 22 to 23 gs£ rs of age, t feet 6 or 6 inches hisrh, proportionate make, round short face, short nose, pale complexion, dark brown hair, slight dark moustache ; dressed in brown shooting coat and black cloth cap ; speaks the Manchester dialect, and appears to know Manchester : may be known at the ' Pack Horse' inn, Oldham- road, Manchester. Whoever will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and con- viction of the said John Taylor shall receive £ 5 reward, on application to Mr. Joseph Potts, Chief Constable, Town Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire.— Bow- street, March 10. During the night of the 12tli, or early on the morning of the 13th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. John Hanscomb. No. 8, Morledge street, Leicester, was broken and entered, and the following: property stolen therefrom, viz.: the Communion Service belonging to St. George's Church, consisting o. 1 two silver Plates, a silver Flagon, a silver Chalice, and » silver Salver, all engraved with the following inscriptio « , ' Rev. Between 2' 40 and 4- 30 a. m. ol the 11th instant, the co- operative stores at Levenshulme, near Manchester, were broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom, viz. : eight men's woollen Shirts, of various colours;. three, brown alpaca Umbrellas, in glazed cases, with hooked handles ; and five men's woollen Scarfs, of various colours. P., name on corks in d& ti lid twenty- four bottles of pale Brandy, two uncooked legs of Mutton, one a wetifcs- p Brusrg, Biruin.'; both have the shank bones cut off; 4 lbs. of fresh Butter, up in long shaped pounds ; and two old Market Baskets, one with double lid, the other without any lid, were stolen. In- formation to be given to Mr. Superintendent William Stanton, Stourport, Worcestershire.— Bow- street, March 14. Further particulars of the man charged with burglary at Thorpe, Surrey, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 3rd ultimo : WALTER EVANS, alias JACKSON, alias SMITH, labourer, native of Thorpe, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, thick set, dark complexion and hair, small whiskers ( supposed shaved) ; dressed in blue monkey jacket, a drab jean slop, cord trousers, heavy lace- up boots with brass eyelet- holes, and black cap. He is accompanied by his wife, an Irishwoman, 24 years of age, 5 feet high, sallow complexion, black hair and eyes, low forehead ; supposed to be dressed in green stuff gown, and dark shawl and bonnet. Had with them, a very dark or black lurcher bitch, white spot ou chest, smooth coat, very fat. A warrant has been granted for his apprehen- sion— Metropolitan Police, V Division, March 11. Further information respecting the burglary at the Misses Walkers, Clifton- on- Teme, Worcestershire, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 9th instant: there was stolen a lady's silver gilt Watch, gold face with Roman figures, maker's name Mason, Worcester. J10 reward will be paid by the Misses Walker, to any person giving such information as shall lead to the ot! er the conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Baby, Great Witley, Worcester- shire.— Bow- street, March 11; Farther information respecting the burglary at Chippen- ham, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 7th instant. Two men are suspected : one is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark hair, beard, and moustache ; and dressed in a dark blue pilot coat with large buttons, Hark trousers, and a blue cloth cap with peak ; the other is about 20 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, pale complexion, and rather long featured ; dressed in a light, cloth jacket, t'urk trousers, and cap with peak. They were traced in the direction of Swindon on the 5th instant, and are supposed to be JOHN GOOD- ENOUGH and CHARLES STEWART, who were adver- tised in the'Police Gazette of the 25th January last, charged with burglary at Gosport. It is supposed that the man first described stops at lo w public- houses, accompanied by a female about 20 years of age, and diessed in a brown bonnet, with black veil, black cloth jacket, and blue dress with white flowers in it ; he has a small box with him and a portmanteau, and pretends to he a hawker of Jewellery. Information to be given to Mr. James Wright, Superintendent, Chippenham, Wilts.— Bow- street, March 11. Description of AMBROSE HARRISON, a bricklayer's labourer, late of Quorn, near Derby, who is charged with breaking into a i arness room, and stealing therefrom a quan- tity of Harness, the property of . Mr. Bafcewell, grocer, of Quorn, and for whose apprehension a warrant has been issued. He is 35 years of age, 5 feet 5 or G inches high, proportionately made, light brown hair, thin visage, squints, and light com- plexion ; diessed in a cotton cord jacket, fustian or cord trousers, and dark cloth cap. Information to be given to W. G. Moran, Esq., Deputy Chief Constable, Belper, Derbyshire. — Bow- street, March 9. Between 12 p. m. on the 4th instant, and 7 a. m. on the 5th instant, the ' Navigation Ion," kept by John Hirst, of Battye- ford, Kirk'heaton, near Huddersfield, was brokeiv reentered, and the undermentioned articles stolen therefretm : a lady's small gold Geneva Watch with flowered case, arid gold- plated Guard attached, the ^ ii* rd is attached to the twivel with a piece of black thread, the ring having been broken ; a pair of men's blacl; cloth trousers, nearly new; a black cloth dress Coat; a black silk velvet Vest, with plain lining, cut about inch up the hack; a brown mixtuie Overcoat with velvet collar, two pockets outside; a black satin Handkerchief; a plated Brooch with glass in centre; and a nichol silver Watch Guard. Stolen, by means of housebreaking, from a house in Not- tingham Park, on the night of the 6th instant, between the hours of 0 p. m. and 8 p. m., the following property, viz. 2 diamond Rings, one a large- sized diamond ; tl with five small diamonds. 1 gold Pin with small diamond. Between the hours of 10 a. m. and 4 p. m. on the 3rd inst., the dwelling- house of Mr. William Bennett, at High wood, near Uttoxeter, was broken and entered, and a large dark red JPaisley Scarf Shawl, lull pattern, haying fringe at the end, and a narrow, dark green silk border ; about 3 lbs. of Cheese, and a piece oi Plum Cake, stolen therefrom. Information to be given to Inspector Crisp, Police Station, Uttoxeter, Stafford- shire.— Bow- street, March 7. shire down breed, marked with the figures £ 12 and 13' on the rump. Information to be given to Serjeant Caswell, Newton, Shropshire; or to P. C. ( 4: 3) Duce, Bromfield, Salop.— Bow- street, March 16. Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Harbro- hill, near Barnsley, Yorks, on or about the 3rd instant, a dark bay Mare, 14j hands high, long square tail, and has a slight fulness on hind lega below the fetlock, similar to a ring- bone. Infor- mation- to be given to Mr. Superintendent Greenhalgh, West Riding Constabulary,' Barnsley, Yorkshire.— Bow- st., March 14. Supposed to have been stolen from Northwamborough Common, near Odiham, © ants, on the night of the 9th instant, a Bough- looking black Mare, 12 or 13 hands high, 4 years old, has a small wart on chest; and a Colt, about 9 months old, of a rusty brown colour inclining to black. Hey gate, ( aimer, a dark brown cart Mare, about 14 hands high, 6 yeaft. old, yvith two patches of white haiv on tiie hind fetlocks, a white star on the forehead, and a patch of white hair on the near shoulder, from a pinch, long mane and tail, low in condition, and has a rough coat. ,£ 10 reward will be p^ iid on- the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the mare. By a man and woman of the following description, who lodged at the house a fortnight: the man is a labourer, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fair complexion, light grey eyes, dark hair and whiskers, spare figure, and dressed in light moleskin trousers, dark coat, white slop underneath, and cloth cap ; the woman is about 40 years of age, 6 feet 2 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair and eyes, and stout figure ; supposed to be wearing one of the stolen shawls, cottage bonnet ( supposed to be trimmed with red and brown ribbon, and supposed to be wearing the stolen boots, a9 she left her old ones behind. They were traced on the road to Battle, Sussex, and are supposed to be making their way to Kent, and are likely to be found in low lodging- houses. Escaped from the custody of a police constable at 2 a. m. on the 12th instant, in the parish of Pitminster, Somerset, on the charge ot stealing two Ilorses at Wendover, Bucks, on the 23rd ultimo, ELIAS DELL, of Busliey, Hertfordshire, 24 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, black hair ; dressed in cord trousers, sleeved vest, lace up boots, and old cip, and is of gipsy- like appearance: his brother, WILLIAM DELL, was apprehended with the stolen horses at North Petherton, on the llth instant, when he ( Elias), ran awav. HENRY DELL, aged 68, MARY ANN DELL, 04, EMILY DELL, 25, and CAROLINE DELL, 18 ( wife of Elias Dell), were apprehended ou the 12th instant, and sentenced to seven days imprisonment each as vagrants, and Emily for one month in addition for assault, and Caroline for four fourteen days for assault on the police. They had in their possesssion the van and cart described in the Police Gazette of the 29th ultimo; one of the horses is about 14 hands high, bay, black legs, long coat, about 5 years old, and is supposed to have been stolen. Etias Dell may probably be found in company with other gipsies in the county of Devon. They all say that, they tramped to Middlesborongh, and have been at Leeds, Harrogate, and other parts , of the West Riding. Description of THOMAS SAYERS, alias SYERS, alias M NLEY, a low horse dealer, who is committed for trial at A next quarter sessions to be holden at Ely, Cambs, on the 6th proximo, on a charge of horse stealing at Chatteris, the Horse has been recovered : he states that he is a native of Beeston, Norfolk, but he last resided at King's Lynn, and is supposed to have resided occasionally in London, and generally employed with horses ; is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair ( inclined to curl at sides), full face, whiskers shaved off, stoutly made, the first finger of left hand damaged, and a scar across the third finger of same hand, scar across the thick part of the inside of [ right hand, and has lost a tooth from the left side of upper jaw; dressed in black cloth waistcoat and trousers, old light blue butcher's frock, light brown mixed tweed frock coat, and black billycock hat. He was discharged from Norwich Castle on the 4th of July last, having served six mouths for felony, and he is suspected of committing offences elsewhere. He has been traced in the direction of Derby. Any person giving such information as will lead to his apprehension and conviction shall receive £ 2 r< ward from the Poleswoith and Grendon Association for the Prosecution of Felons. He is supposed to have committed similar offences elsewhere, or to have been previously convicted. Description of a woman committed to Haverfordwest Gaol for one month with hard labour, for vagrancy. She gives the name of ELIZABETH JONES, and states thSaTshe is a native of Bath, where her father was a blacksmith, working for Mr. Hays, of Even- street, but died about four years ago ( which is supposed to be false) ; she speaks with a strong Irish accent ; she is about 22 yeaiB of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, auburn hair, blue eyes, fresh comp'exion, slightly pockmarked, has a bum scar under the chin, and deep pockmarks upon both elbows ; dressed in an old black silk bonnet, trimmed with black crape and mauve strings, old brown shawl with light stripes and scarlet border, and a dark drab skirt with light stripes ; she wears nothing but the shawl upon her shoulders, and is in the habit of calling upon ladies begging clothing, and afterward sells the clothing she obtains. She is accompanied by a man known among tramps as 1 Birmingham Tom,' who is about 22 years of age, 6 feet 6 or 7 inches high, auburn hair, light complexion, has a scar upon the right side of the neck, and generally dresses in light clothes, black cloth cap, and a large red and white woollen muffler. Description of JOHN, alias JAMES, alias THOMAS McDONALD, committed for trial at the next Salop assizes, on a charge of burglary at Dawley : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, swarthy complexion, dark hair, peck- pitted ; a native of Ireland, but has lately been residing in Wolverhampton, Nantwich, and other places, hawking spurious soap ; it is suspected he has committed offences elsewhere. Description of JOHN ELKINGTON, alias JOSEPH BATCH ELOR, a native of Little Bourton, Oxfordshire, who is committed for trial at the ensuing assizes at Monmouth, charged with coining, aud having in his possession implements for that purpose, also with uttering counterfeit sixpences : he is about 40 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, dark brown hair, small dark whiskers, fresh complexion, grey eyes, proportion- ately made, scar on the small bone of the right leg ( having been broken); dressed in a short white slop, fustian vest, brown cord trousers ( patched on knees), black cloth cap with leather peak, black and red muffler, and lace up boots. He states that he has worked at the Manchester Water Works, that he has been employed on several railways as a platelayer, and whilst engaged as such on the Wincanton Railway about four years ago his leg was broken, and that he remained in the huts at that place until he recovered. He was convicted at Banbury, Oxfordshire, in 1862, and sentenced to twelve months impri- sonment for passing counterfeit sixpences ; he has also been convicted of burglary. It is suspected he has been travelling through different counties in England and Wales with others, passing counterfeit coin, and that he has committed offences elsewhere. W.', anchor, and bird, rings on two or three fingers of left hand, scar inside right knee ; says he was born in Dublin ; supposed to be well known in Sheffield and Nottingham, and to have been recently discharged from Leicester Gaol.
