W.," as they cannot bo published without his authority. INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Absconded on the 27th ultimo, from hia residence, Rhos, Ruabon, charged, on a coroner's warrant, with manslaughter, JOHN HUGHES, about 22 years of age, 6 feet C inches nigh, no whiskers or beard, black hair, thin face, boil on the right side of face, pale yellow complexion, pimples on his face, has a gathered linger, and a bad knee ; when leaving his residence he was dressed in tv brown cloth shooting jacket, small check pattern, with two patches OH it, wrong side of the cloth out- wards, and the ohet* is 3- 1 Gilts of. an inch square, cord trousers worn at the bottom, and torn between the legs, red and white cotton scarf, short Wellington boots, one of them burst on the inside, and black cap. He is a collier's labourer, and is known at Ilanley, in Staffordshire, where he was about five months ago ; it is supposed that he may now be on some line of railway. Information to be given to Mr. John Bradshaw, Superintendent, Wrexham, Denbighshire, who holds the warrant for his appre- hension.— Bow- street, February 12. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. About 7 p. m. on the Gth instaot, as Joseph Walker, of Wath, collier, was passing" along the highway between Womb- well and Wath, he was knocked down by four ipen, who robbed him of £ 3 in Gold, two Half- crowns, three Shillings, and a steel Tobacco- box, with a jug, glass, two pipes, and ' J. W.' engraved on the lid. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Gillett, Court House, Rotherham, York- shire.— Bow- street, February 12. Supposed to have been stolen, on the 4th instant, from the person ot a gentleman, between Deansgate and Trinity- street, Great Bolton, Lancashire, an Envelope containing four £ 100 Bank of England Notes, Nos. 70379, 14121, 22187, and 22188, payment of which is stopped. Any person giving such Infor- mation as shall lead to the recovery of the notes and conviction of the offender or offenders ( if stolen) shall receive £ 10 reward, on application to Mr. Harris, Chief Constable, Police Office, Great Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, February 8. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Absconded from Ipswich, on the 5th instant, charged with breaking and entering the warehouse of Messrs. Henry and George 8. Clarke, shoe manufactuerrs, situate in the paris'i of Saint Mary Elms, Ipswich, stealing therefrom £ 20 in Gold and Silver: ALFRED HOY, a shoemaker, and a native of Nor- wich, 33 years of age, 6 feet 11 inches high, light hair and complexion, light moustache, and no whiskers ; dressed in a light grey overcoat, cord trousers with fly fronts and fitting tight to his legs, rather round- shouldered, and stoops a little when walking ; he belongs to the Norfolk Artillery Militia, and is supposed to be now wearing a pair of socks belonging to that corps. Information to be given to W. C. Mason, Head Constable, Town IIall, Ipswich, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bou>- street, February 12. Description of WILLIAM NICHOLLS, who is charged with housebreaking, in the month of August last, at the parish of Kenwyn, Cornwall: he is about 18 years of age, about 5 feet high, dark hair and eyes, dark complexion, how- legged ( par- ticularly the right one) ; he is a rag and bone gatherer, and is supposed to be now in the county of Kent, most likely at Dover, and will probably endeavour to ship on board some merchant vessel. The whole of the property stolen, is now in the hands of the Police. Information to he given to Mr. Superintendent Complin, County Police Station, Truro, who holds a warrant fof his apprehension.— Bow- street, February 10. Between 12 midnight on the 6th, and 7' 30 a. m. on the 8th instant, the lock- up shop belonging to John Howarth, grocer, Stockport- road, Longsight, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom, viz.: a Box containing 36 lbs. of Tea ( Young Hyson); a Box containing 21 lbs. of ditto, the box is marked ' 61 ( C underneath) 528 H ( in a diamond) No. 11, Seasons 1860 and J86I a Box containing 20 lbs. of black Caper Tea, the box is No. 3549 ; 40 lbs. of different sorts, from a number of canisters in the shop ; 20 or 22 loaves of Sugar, weighing 3^ cwts. ; a box ot Raisins, about 14 lbs. weight; 1J lb. of Figs; 1J lb. of Tobacco; 6s. in Copper, and 2s. in Silver. Information to be given to the Superintendent of the County Police, Old Trafford, near Manchester.— Bow street, February 10. Between the hours of 6 and 12 p. m. of the 7th instant, the dwelling- house of John Eden, Clough House Farm, Bedford, was broken and entered, and a leather Purse, containing £ 2 10s. in Gold, £ 7 in Silver, a spade Guinea, and a gold Wedding Ring, stolen therefrom. Information to be given to Mr. Super- intendent Jackson, Constabulary, Town Hall, Leigh, near Manchester.— Bow- street, February 10. During the night of the 4th instant, the shop of Messrs. Kemp and Son, stationers, Beverley, was broken and entered, and 253. in Silver, and about 20s. worth of Pottage Stamps stolen. Information to be given to Mr. William Pattison, Chief Constable, Beverley, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, Feb. 10. Stolen, between 7 and 10 p. m. on the 5th instant, from a dwelling- house in the borough of Leominster, Herefordshire, by means of housebreaking : about £ 7 6s. in gold and silver ; a black silk Dress trimmed with blue ribbon on the skirt; a green stuff Dress with velvet reund the bottom ; a light muslin Dress ; a large black cloth Mantle ; a black and blue velvet Bonnet; a red Petticoat ; a white Petticoat trimmed with lace ; four pairs of women's Drawers ; four print Aprons ; and eight pairs of Stockings. Information to be given to Mr. Super- intendent S. Alexander, Leominster, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, February 8. Description of RICHARD BLEWITT, who absconded from Newnham on the 4th instant, charged with breaking and entering a workshop - at Newnham, and stealing therefrom a new Clothes Box, which has since been recovered. He is about 26 or 27 years of aj? e, ft feet fl inches high, sallow com- plexion, brown hair and eyes, small whiskers, in- kneed, slender make, and is asthmatical ; dressed in a white jimcrow hat with brown band, white flannel jacket, moleskin trousers, and lace- up boots. Information to be given to Sergeant James Scott, Police Station, Newnham, Gloucestershire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, January 8. During the night of the 2nd instant or early the following morning, a windmill, at Bettisfield, Flintshire, was broken and witered, and about 12s. worth of best Flour stolen therefrom. Supposed by a man with an ordinary sized foot, wearing string boots, with three rows of strong nails in the middle and two rows of sparables round the edge of the sqles. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Bolton, Flintshire Con- stabulary, Haniner.— Bow- street, February 8. Stolen, between 9 and 12 p. m. on the 2nd instant, at Brough, in the parish of Dunnet, Caithness, by breaking and entering the house of James Simpson, shoemaker, the following property : two £ 1 Bank Notes ; £ 1 4s. in silver ; a silver. verge Watch, maker Gibson, London, No. 6510, with plated guard Chain attached; a red leather Pocketbook, containing a Deposit Receipt on the Commercial Bank of Scotland, in favour of James Simpson, for £ 24 ; a Bank Bill, granted by — Charleson to James Simpson ; and a pair of brown tweed Trousers, nearly new. Information to be given to Mr. Mitchell, Chief Constable of Caithness, Wick.— Bou street, February 8. During the night of the 3rd instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Daniel Spencer Copner, Southgate- street, Gloucester, was broken and entered, aud the following property stolen there- from, viz.: 1 silver Teapot and Stand, marked ' W. The bay Horse stolen' on the 8th instant from a stable at Thompson, Norfolk, advertised in thd Police Gazette of the 10th instant, has been recovered.— Bow- street, February 12. Supposed to have been stolen from Eversley Green, Hants, on the 3rd instant, a brown mare Pony, about 6 years old, 12i hands high, and short tail. Information to be given to Mr. W. Howard, Superintendent, Hants Constabulary, Aldershot.— Bow- street, February 12. Supposed to have been stolen, about 8 p. m. on the 31st ultimo, from a field at Harlesden Green, Middlesex, a brown Pony, 4 years old, 14 hands high, scar just above tlje right knee, the property of E. Burgess. Information to be given M the Police station, Harlesden Green, Middlesex.— Bow- street, February 12. W , Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Perry Barr, Staffordshire, on the 28th ultimo, one ewe and eleven Lambs, with black legs and faces, the property of Mr. John Birch, of Perry Barr. All reasonable expenses will be paid by G. M. Birch, on the recovery of the sheep and conviction of the offenders. Information to be given to Sergeant John Richards, Police Office, Handsworth, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, Feb, 12. Supposed to have been stolen, about the 16th ultimo, from the Ranscliffe Farm, near Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, three Colts of the following description: one bay Filly, rising 2 years old; one brown Filly, rising 1 year old ; and one grey Pony ( filly 2 P O L I C E GAZETTE. Further particulars respecting RICHARD ADAMS and GEORGE WILSON, charged with horse stealing at Hartley Row, limits, advertised in the Police Gazette of ihe lst inst. : George Wilson has been apprehended ; Adams is still at large, and is from 20 to 21 years of » ge, instead of from SO to .14, as previously described, and was wearing a velveteen shooting jacket information to he given to Mr. W. Howard, Superin- tendent, Hants Constabulary, Aldershot.— Brno- street, Feb. 10. Supposed to have been stolen, from a field at Kate's Hill, Dudley, Worcestershire, on the 29th ultimo, a chestnut Horse, rising" 5 years, about 16 ltunds high, while stur on forehead, aud one white foot; and a dark brown Horse, rising 5 years, 14 hands high, white star on forehead. Information to be given ii> Mr. Chief Superintendent Barton, Police Office, Dudley, Worcestershire.— Bono- street, February it. Supposed to have been stolen from a yard on the 28th ult., a dark brown mare Donkey, in foal, long tail, white nose, not shod. Supposed to have been taken by some gipsies who were camping in the neighbourhood, aud left on the 29th ult. Information to be given to Mr. Levi Tootill, Head Constable, Flint - Bow- street, February 8. Stolen between the 27th ultimo and the 3rd instant, from James Hall, Esq., of Sway thorp, in the perish of Kilham, nine hog Sheep, frofn a fold in a turnip field ; they are of the pure Leicester breed, very fat and small framed, aud will weigh about 10 lbs. per quartt- r, and are marked us follows : red dot of paint on the oft buttock and the ears, some < f them upper bitted, some under bitted, some of thein may be both upper bitted aud under bitted on the off ear, or some of them may have a punch hole through the centre of the near ear. K Stolen from Bodeillo Farm, in the parish of Llauddyfnan, county of Anglesey, on the 3rd ii. staat, the fallowing property, vtfe.: a pair of strong lace- up Boots, heavily nailed, and nearly now, and a black silk Handkerchief, having a small piece worn out at J/ Jie corner, the property of David Jones ; also a pair of dajk cloth Trousers with a black stripe down the sides, a Vest of the same material, and a red and white cotton Handkerchief. By EDWARD HUGHES, alias NED BACH, a native of Llanbedrgoch, in the said county, labourer ; lie is 32 years of ugiy5 feet 0 inches high, daik brown hair aud whibkets, grey eyes, lias a rear on forehead, the letter * H.' in Indian ink on rigbt ami, and ti e figure of a woman on left arm; dressed, when lust seen, ill a dark cloth shooting coat, t: OUser. » , and v^ t, aU in a ragged condition, and a dark greasy cap ; probably ho is faring some of the stolen property, as li « left his old boots b' bind ; has a flirty, trampUh appearance. He has been a soldier, has served some time hi India in the 23rd Regiment ' ( supposed at Lucknow), and is a pensioner ; he has also nerved • five years with the Carnarvonshire Milit'u, and at. pre- ent belongs to the Royal Anglesey Militia. A warrant has been issnetj, and £ 1 reward will be given for his apprehension, and recovery of any of the stolen property. Information to be given to Inspector Williams, Llangefni; or lo P. C. ( fio. 8) Robert Jones, Pentraeth, cbunty of Anglesey.— Bow- street, February 12. Abirnnded on the 2rtd instant, from Blackwood, in the parish « f Bedwelly, chargsd with obtaining Under false pre- tences, from Catherine Jones, the sum of £ 11, a silver Watch ( witli common Guard attached, maker's name Edward Palmer, London, No. 112, old fashioned), an English Blanket, two old Handkerchief's ; an old worsted Turnover, and a loaf of Bread, the property of Rees Jones : LEWIS LOVELL, about 30 years of age, 6 feet 3 or 4 ins. high, stout built, sallow complexion, dark hair and whiskers, round face, aud supposed to be slightly pockmarked, rather deaf, has a gipsey- like appearance, and talks very quick ; dressed In a li^ ht sult^ pf drab clothes, black billycock hat, lace- up boots with hrnsn eyelets, is a travelling tinker, basket maker, and grinder ; attends fairs and deals in horses, assef, and mules, and professed to be a rat catcher, and calk at different farm houses for that purpose, and is very active on his feet. MARY LOVELL, alias EVANS, alias SMITH, whom he calls his wife, about 22 years of. age, 5 feet 6 inches high, pro- portionate make, fresh complesion, dark hair and eyes, rather long features, good looking, and as a gipsy- like appearance; dressed in a plaid flannel, or light cotton 8k irt with two flounces, light jacket, pink cotton apron ( frill round it and a pocket on right side), black cloak, or a dark flannel scarf shawl, black velvet bonnet with a large orange coloured feather on left side, a roll insh'e of bonnet instead of a front ( mixture of black and white, or red and white), and strong leather bjp^ ts. They are sometimes accompanied by a lad about 18 or 19 years of age, about 5 feet 6 or ( 5 inches high, and wears a blue Guernsey. They are very lively to be found encamping in sofDO bye roads in the counties of Monmouth, Carmarthen, . Montgomery, Radnor, and Brecon. The man is supposed to be a native of Staffordshire. On the 29th December last, the body of a female child was found floating in the Grantham and Nottingham Canal, in the parish of Redmile, in the oounty of Leicester ; at an inquest held on the body, the jury returned an open verdiet. Descrip- tion ot HARRIETT KETTLE, who is charged with concealing the birth of the said child: a married woman, a native of Redmile, Leicestershire, 29 years of age, 6 feet 4 inches high, blue eyes, black hair rather curly, fair complexion, thick lips turned up, stoutly made, stoops a little in her shoulders, and holds her head back ; dressed, when she went away, in a black and white straw bonnet trimmed with green tibbon, dark grey shawl, drab alpaca dress, under her dress a jacket with red flannel front, kid- top boots with elastic sides and patent fronts. She absconded after the inquest on the 1st ultimo, and was seen at Peterborough the same night, where she remained until the 15th ult., and afterwards took train, going in the direction of Wansford to Lincoln, where she is now supposed to be getting her living by prostitution.
