W.," as they cannot be published without his Authority. INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Description of JAMES BUCKLEY, who has absconded from Oldham, charged with maliciously wounding a man on the 28th instant : 20 years of age, 5 feet 4- J inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, cut on left eye, labourer, a native of Ireland; dressed in a velveteen jacket, moleskin trousers, black cloth cap and clogs. Information to be given to Mr. James Wetherell, Chief Constable, Borough Police Office, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, December 30. On the 18th instant, the body of a new- born male Child was found in a coppice near Hyde, Isle of Wight. An inquest has been held on the body, and a verdict of ' Wilful murder against some person or persons unknown ' returned. Informa- tion to be given to Mr. Superintendent E. Horan, - Hants Constabulary, Newport ; or to Sergeant Mitchell, Ryde, Isle - of Wight.— Bow- street, December 28. About 3' 30 a. m. of the 19th instant, a violent assault was committed upon William Jones, turnpike- gate keeper at the Shurdington Pike, near Cheltenham, by a man who cried out ' Gate,' and when Jones went to the door, he received a violent blow from a large stick, which is in the possession of the police. The man was about 20 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, rather stoutly made, dark eyes and hair, and light complexion; dressed in a grey overcoat, cord trousers much worn, strong nailed boots, and a black cloth cap. Information to be given to Mr. Charles Coleman, Superintendent, Cheltenham.— Bow- s'reel, December 21. ARSON AND WILFUL BURNING. On the night of the 2Gth instant, some person or persons set tire to the brick sheds belonging to Mr. John Calcutt, brick maker, situate in a fie'd adjoining the Summertown- road, in the city of Oxford. Whoever will give such informa- tion as shall lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders shall receive £ 10 reward. Information to be given to Mr. Calcutt, or to Mr. Lucas, Superintendent, Town Hall, Oxford. Bow- street, December 30. FORGERY. Description of a man who passed a forged cheque at Bishop's Castle, on the 28th instant: he gave the name of THOMAS EDWARDS, and is about 52 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, sallow complexion, full face, dark hair, short whiskeis ( turning grey), stout make; dressed in a black overcoat with velvet collar, black jacket, dark trousers and waistcoat, black silk hat; of gentlemanly appearance and address, lie obtained for the cheque two £ 5 Notes of the North and South Wales Bank, and the remainder in Gold. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Baxter, Church Stretton, or Sergeant Scale, Bishop's Castle, Salop.— Bow- street, December 30. On the evening of the 12th instant, three stacks of Wheat, and two stacks of Oats, the property of John Sharp, Farmer, Kilham ; also one stack of Wheat, and a large quantity of • wheat Straw, the property of Richard Fisher, Kilham, were burnt; supposed the act of an incendiary. A man of the following description was seen to run away from the stack- yard of Mr. Ricketson, and is suspected : about 5 feet 7 inches high, stoutly built, dark hair and whiskers ; dressed in an old shabby brown or pepper and salt coloured coat, supposed out at the elbows, black raddy hat pulled over his eyes. Informa- tion to be given to Mr. Joseph Young, Superintendent, East Riding Constabulary, Great Driffield, Yorkshire ; or to any of the East Riding Constabulary Stations,— Bow- street', Dee, 16, ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Description of two men who have absconded from Durham, charged with robbery with violence on the 26th instant. One, about 27 years of age, o feet 5 inches high, no whiskers, high cheekbones, brown curly hair ; dressed in brown cloth trousers with black stripe down the side3, dark coat and vest, dark inverness cape, and black billycock hat ; has served four years' penal servitude, it is supposed in the name of WILLIAM LYNCH : the other, 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, very small made man, very red hair ; dressed in black velvet jacket with two large grey bone buttons behind, dark drab trousers, and black cloth c. ip with a knot on the top. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent W. Beard, Durham.— Boio- street, December 30. Stolen, on the night of the 17th instant, from the person of a gentleman, in the neighbourhood of Deansgate, Man- chester, an old fashioned silver lever Watch, plain cases, white dial, 1 S. M.' engraved on outside of inner case, had attached a silver fob Chain, curb pattern, silver seal with plain led stone and gold seal with cornelian stone on a swivel; also three £ 10 Bank of England Notes, which are carelessly torn in two, the numbers of which are known and payment stopped. Any person giving such information as may. lead to the appre-. hension and conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property shall receive £ o, on application to Mr. Super- intendent John Gee, A Division, Albert- street and Lower King- street, Manchester ; or at any Police Station in Man- chester.— Bow- street, December 28. Supposed to have been stolen from the person of Ralph Gowland, at Thornley Colliery, Durham, early on the morning of the 25th instant, a silver lever Watch, No. 4002, maker Gal- wiskie, and a steel Albert Chain. Information to be given to Mr. Davidson, Superintendent, Castle Eden, Durham.— Bow- street, December 28. Stolen about 8 p. m., 22nd instant, from the person of a gentleman in the neighbourhood of Cross- street, Manchester, a £ 10 Bank of England Note, No. 14834, dated 9th January, 1863, a £ 5 ditto, and £ 8 in Gold. £ 3 reward will be paid on the conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property, or in proportion thereto, on application to Mr. John Gee, Superintendent, A Division, Albert- street and Lower King- street, Manchester, or at any Police Station in Manchester.— Bow- street, December 28. Stolen from the person, in Bolton, Lancashire, on the 15th instant, an old silver lever Watch, maker Laycock, Bradford, No. 6370. Information to be given to Mr. James Harris, Chief Constable, Bolton, Lancashire. — Bow- street, December 24. Stolen, on the night of the 17th instant, from the person of a gentleman, while in the neighbourhood of Deansgate, an old- fashioned silver lever Watch, plain cases, white dial, has the initials ' S. M.' engraved on the outside of inner case, had attached a silver fob Chain, curb pattern, with silver Seal set with a plain red stone, and a gold Seal with cornelian stone on a swivel; also three £ 10 Bank of England Notes ( torn in two), the numbers of which are known and payment stopped. Any person giving such information as may lead to the apprehension and conviction of the thief or thieves, and recovery of the pro- perty, shall receive £ 5 reward, on application to Mr. John Gee, Superintendent of Police, A Division, Albert- street and Lower King- street, Manchester.— Bow- street, December 23. Stolen, on the 15th instant, from the person of a gentle- man in the city of Manchester, a gold lever Watch, f plate, centre seconds, dome case, engine- turned cases, No. 41621, maker's name W. W. Kent, Manchester; also a heavy gold Guard, diamond pattern. Any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property, shall receive £ H le- ward. Information to be given to Mr. Thomas Auderton, Superintendent of Police, C Division Police Station, Fairfield- street, Manchester, or at any of the Police Stations in the said city.— Bow- street, December 21. About 8 p. m. on the 15th instant, as Mr. George Magg, of Evershott, was travelling on the highway between Melbury Osmond and Yetminster, in the county of Dorset, he was robbed by two men of the following articles, viz. : six shirt Collars, marked ' G. M.,' in ink ; seventeen Neckties, marked ditto ; two calico Shirts, not marked ; one pair of elastic spring heel Boots; and 4s. 9| d. in silver and copper Money. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Lewis, Dorset Constabulary, Sherborne, Dorset.— Bow- street, December 21. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. The dwelling of Mr. Charles Hammett, of Chertsey, was broken and entered during the night of the 26th instant, and the following property stolen, viz. : a mahogany eight- day American Clock, large size, a piece of looking- glass in door, and a piece of carved work fits on the top ; a large rosewood and maple Workbox, ring handles at sides, panelled all round, containing small articles in silver and gold, & c.; two imitation silver Teapots; a large Clothes- box, stained oak, about 2 feet 6 inches by 16 inches, containing sundry linen; two black Hatbands on rollers; a large black Clothes Brush ; a black Coat and Waistcoat, bound with figured binding; a large plated Brooch, with purple stone; a Ham, weighing about 9 lbs.; two Blankets, a white Counterpane,, a coloured ditto, and three Sheets, all large size, not marked ; five Shirts; and a new Spade. Supposed by two men who were seen near tile house ; one about 5 feet 8 inches high, the other 5 feet 6 inches ; dressed in dark jackets and caps, had the appearance of coster- mongers, and are supposed to belong to the neighbourhood of Turnham Green, Middlesex. Information to be given to Mr. C. Hollington, Superintendent of Surrey County Consta- bulary, Chertsey .- Bow- street, December 30. The dwelling- house of Samuel Carter, farmer, Potter- row, Great Missenden, Bucks, was broken and entered on the night of the 27th instant, and the following property was stolen therefrom : 8 yards of coarse Wrappering, new ; a Powder- flask, a shot ditto; two pairs of men's high lace- up Shoes, tipped and nailed, a pair of blucher Shoes, ditto ; two black Hats ; a brown cloth Cloak, bound round with blnck velvet; a piece of Bacon, and a quantity of Bread and Bacon in a white cloth ; a black Hat ( old), was left behind on the premises, and a pair of old lace- up shoes in an adjoining field. Information to be given to Mr. Denson, Superintendent, Aylesbury, or to Inspector W. Ray, Wendover, Bucks.— Bow- street, December 30. Between 12 p. m. on the 20th and 6 a. m. on the 29th inst., a dwelling- house at Elland, in the West Riding of Yorkshire, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom a blue cloth Overcoat, with two pockets outside, and black silk velvet collar; a black cloth Dress Coat, with silk twilted collar ; a black cloth single- breasted vest ; a pair of Boots, with elastic sides and brass eyelet holes in front; a black and white plaid Scarf; a black Shawl with silk border ; and a Hair Brush with ivory back, the property of Robert Sharrott, fire- brick maker. Information to be g'iven to Mr. Henry Wardle, West Riding Constabulary, Halifax, York- shire.— Bow- street, December 30. Description of CHARLES GORE, of Puriton, Somerset, against whom a warrant has been issued for breaking into the dwelling- house of Samuel Green, of Chedzoy, Somerset, and stealing an American Clock, two Pillow- cases, and 2 Shillings; the clock and pillow- cases have been recovered. He is about 45 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high ; dressed in a short dirty slop, black billycock hat, fustian or cord trousers, his boots have been recently soled. His wife and one young child are with him, and they are supposed to have gone to Okehamp- ton, Devon, where his wife's relations reside, and where he was married about 2 years ago. The woman is rather tall ; dressed in a light dirty- looking shawl, dark dress, and has the appearance of being very poor. Gore stated that he should go to his wife's friends until after Christmas, and then go to work at the quarries at Dartmoor. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Jeffs, North Petherton, Somerset.— Bow- street-, December 30. On the night of the 23rd instant the counting- house in the brewery yard of Messrs. Wheeler, High Wycombe, was broken into. £ 10 reward will be paid to any one giving such information as will procure the conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent G. Davis, High Wycombe, Bucks.— Bow- street, December 28. Between 5 p. m. the 19th and 10 a. m. the 20th instant, an unoccupied cottage at Grasmere, in the county of Westmorland, was broken and entered by one of the windows, and the follow- ing articles stolen therefrom : two pair of new Blankets, six nickel silver Table Knives, six ditto Forks, with white handles to match, and an old- fashioned verge Watch with brass cases. Information to be given to Mr. Hibbert, Superintendent and Deputy Chief Constable, Kendal ; or at the County Chief Con- stable's Office, Carlisle.— Bow- street, December 28.' Description of THOMAS FOX, against whom a warrant lias been issued for breaking and entering the dwelling- house of William Divers, at the parish of Kingstone, near Canter- bury, on the 10th instant, and stealing therefrom a double- breasted black cloth Vest with sleeves, nearly new ; a plum- coloured silk Handkerchief, not hemmed ; and 17s., or there- abouts: he is 26 years of age, 5 f? et 6f inches high, light brown hair, light blue eyes, fair complexion, oval face, pro- portionately made, ' D & B C ' on left side, scar on upper lip just under the nose, ' E ' on lower part of left arm, and face slightly pockpitted ; he may be dressed in blue cloth trousers, blue worsted guernsey, and black cloth cap with peak. Infor- mation to be given to Mr. Superintendent William Stokes, County Police Office, Sandwich, Kent ; or to any Officer or Constabulary.— Bow- st, reet, December 28. Between 12 midnight on the 23rd instant and 6' 30 on the following morning, Harrock Hall, Wrightington, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : one £ 5 Bank of England Note, No. V j W 14118, V | B 05142 or U ] A 35263 ; one ditto, marked ' Forged' in several places ; £ 15 in Silver; 5 Sovereigns; a silver engine- turned Pencil- case with gold Pen ; 5s. or 6s. worth of Postage Stamps in a small paper box. Footprints of two persons to and from the hall were traced, impressions of which have been taken. Infor- mation to be given to Mr. John Beetliam, Superintendent, Chorley, Lancashire. — Bow- street, December 28. Stolen from the dwelling- house of John Brindley, at Creighton Park, near Uttoxeter, which was broken and entered between 9 a. m. and 1 p. m. on the 22nd instant, the following property : a blue Coat, metal buttons, two side and one left- hand breast pockets; a pair of old light woollen cord knee Breeches ; a red plush sleeved Waistcoat, double breasted ; a black cloth ditto, single breasted ; a brown stuff Dress; and 10s. in Silver money. Information to be given to Inspector Crisp, Police Office, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, De- cember 24. 2 POLICE GAZETTE. December 30. Between 4 and 8 p. m. on the 20th instant, the General Post Office at Shrewsbury was broken and entered, and about £ 40 in Gold and Silver, IDs. 3d. in Copper, £ 1 13s. in Penny Postage Stamps, and 10s. in Shilling ditto stolen therefrom. Information to be given to VI r. John Hughes, Chief Constable, Shrewsbury.— Bow- street, December 23. On the evening of the 16th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Frederick Rees, North- street, Bridgewater, Somerset, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen there- from : a silver English lever Watch, gold hands, maker's name ' Searls,' Stonehouse, No. 18703 ; a silver consular Geneva " Watch, maker's name ' Moulinie,' No. 7345, a gold Albert Chain, and Key with dark stones attached. A man named JAMES FLOOKS, is in- custody, and remanded. £ 4 reward will be given to any person giving such information as shall lead to a conviction ot the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property, or in proportion to the property recovered. In- formation to be given to Mr. Thos. Lear, Chief Superintendent, Police Office, Bridgewater, Somerset.— Bow- si., December 23. The dwelling- house of Mr. John Ford, of Egham, Hythe, was broken and entered during the night of the 18th instant, and the following property stolen: a full size brown Overcoat, breast pocket outside, and a small ticket pocket in front, nearly new ; an old black frock coat, breast pocket inside, containing letters addressed to ' J. Ford, Esq.,' some to the War Office, and some at Running Mead Farm, Egham ; and a quarterly second class Railway Ticket from London to Staines, in the name of ' J. Ford'; and a light drab single breasted Vest. The dwelling- house of Mr. T. South, of Lyne, near Chertsey, was also broken and entered on the night ot the 19th instant, and two Guns, one double barrel, maker's name supposed to be ' Bailey ' on barrel; the other, an old single barrel, stock has been broken, and mended by an iron plate let in ; and a black woollen Scarf Shawl, were stolen therefrom. Information to be given to Inspector George Newland, Egham, or to Mr. Superintendent Charles Hollington, Surrey County Consta- bulary.— Bow- street, December 21. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Description of CHARLES BROWN, a native of Cove, near Aldershot, Hants, against whom a warrant has been issued, charged with horse stealing, on the 4th ultimo, be- longing to William Holmes, of Windlesham : about 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, light complexion, light straight hair, and cross eyes ; dressed in a black pilot jacket, cord waistcoat, dirty moleskin trousers, and black cloth cap with a flower worked in top. Supposed to bo travelling the country with drovers, and attending fairs. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent C. Hollington, Surrey County Constabulary, Chertsey.— Bow- street, December 30. . Supposed to have been stolen on the night of the 10th instant, from a field near Eckington, a dark brown Mare, 9 years old, about 15 hands high, a white streak down the face, the two fore feet and ore hind foot white, and has a very rough coat; the property of Mr. Samuel Boot. Information to be given to Superintendent Chawnes, Court House, Ecking' ton, Derbyshire.— Bow street, December 30. Stolen, on the night of the 23rd instant or early on the following morning, the property of Mr, Robert Willifer, from a field in the parish of Offchurch, a bay Horse, 8 years old, 14 hands high, two white heels, black forelegs, small star on the forehead, and broken winded. Whoever wilt give such infor- mation to J. Isome, Esq., Chief Constable, Kenilworth, or to Mr. Lund, Superintendent of Police, Leamington, as may lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive £ 10 10s. reward.— Bow- street, December 30. Supposed to have been stolen from a field in the parish of Aby, on the night of the 2, let instant, a roan mare Pony, about 12 hands high, 5 years old, with black tail cut off at the hocks, has the letter ' T. branded on the near side under the saddle, and has been recently suckling. Information to be given to Mr. Wynne, Superintendent, Afford ; or to P. C. ( 78) P. Riley, Thoresby, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, December 30. Stolen, on the 4th instant, from a field at Durleigh, parish of Bridgwater, Somersetshire, a black rnare Pony, 4 years old, about 11:} hands high, star on forehead, rather long tail, faint mark of letter ' W ' on near side. £ 2 reward and all reasonable expenses will be paid oil recovery of the pony and conviction of the i ffender or offenders. Information to be given to Mr. Lear, Chief Superintendent, Police Office, Bridgwater, Somersetshire.— Bow- street, December 28. Supposed to have been stolen from Dremercliion, Flint- shire, on the 7th ultimo, a light brown Pony, about 11 hands high, dark legs, * N ' cut in the hair under the saddle, saddle, the mane on the forehead and the tail are also cut, the property of Edward Hughes, Dremerchion. Information to be given to Mr. Adams, Superintendent, Holywell, or to Inspector Rees Davies, St. Asaph, Flintshire.— Bow- street, December 28. Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Malvern Wells, in the parish of Hanley Castle, three teg Sheep, smutty faced, anil are' between the Southdown and Leicester bleeds, the property of Mr. W. B. Hall. Information to be given to Superintendent George Checketts, Upton- on- Severn; or to George Turner, Acting Inspector, Great Malvern, Worcester- shire.— Bow- street, December 28. Supposed to have been stolen from North Coombe Farm, Bratten, Ctovelty, on or about the 4th instant, a grey mare Colt, 1 year old,' from 12 to 13 hands high, in fair condition, the property of Mr. Waiter Palmer, of Germanswick, Devon. Information'to be given to Mr. Superintendent Hilliker, Devon, Constabulary, Tavistock.— Bow- street, December 24. Found at Bushbury, Staffordshire, on the 22nd instant, and supposed to have been stolen, an aged black mare Pony, about 14J hands high, hind feet white, white star on forehead, and in good condition. Information to be given to P. C. George Critchlow, Bushbury, near Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, December 24. Supposed to have been stolen - from a field in St. John's, Worcester, on the night of the 20th instant, a brown Pony, about 13 hands high, 3 years old, with tanned nose, very rough coat and tail cut even with the hocks. Information to be given to the Worcester City Police.— Bow- street, December 23. Stolen from Hawkridge Common, Somerset, nine horn wether Sheep, the property of Mr. John Tucker, Woods Farm, West Anstey, Devon ; four were stolen in November last, and five on the 15th or 16th instant; the whole were marked I. T. on each side, with redding round the tail. Any person giving such information as shall lead to the recovery of the sheep or the skins, and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive £ 20 reward. Information to be given to the owner, or at any Police Station in Devon or Somerset.— Bow- street, Decem- ber 21. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Stolen, between 10 p. m. on the 27th instant, and 6 the following morning, from the Easington Union Workhouse, Durham, a blue Jacket Waistcoat, and Trousers, marked inside ' No. 35 ' : by a man who had been an inmate since the 17th instant, and stated that he was a native of Manchester ; about 67 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, blind of one eye, grey bushy hair, and rather stout make ; had with him a suit of dirty dark clothing, which he is supposed to be wearing. Information to be given to Superintendent James Davidson, Durham Constabulary, Castle- Eden.— Bow- street, Dec. 30. A warrant has been issued for the apprehension of CHARLES GAMBLE, who is charged with stealing at Brighton, on the 20th instant, the sum of £ 2 6s., the money of William Baker: he is about 24 years of age, about 6 feet high, light complexion, sharp features, brown hair, light moustache, and slightly made ; dressed in dark coat and vest, light trousers, and wide- awake hat ; has the appearance of having been in the army, or in some Police Force ; he states that lie has been in the Police, and is likely to apply for a situation in some Police Force. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Town Hall, Brighton.— Bow- street, Dec. 30. Stolen, from the dwelling- house of Richard Broadwith, of Sutton- cum- Howgrave, in the parish ot Kirklington, York- shire, an old silver verge Watch, No. 2495, one hand steel and the other gold. Supposed by two men, who were seen in the vicinity with a grinding machine. A man who gave the name of JOHN MORRIS, a tramping carpenter, about 55 years of age, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, proportionably made, sallow com- plexion, grey hair nearly white, grey whiskers meeting under the chin, and a little bald on the top of the head ; he was dressed in a short white flannel jacket, dark cloth vest, old dark cloth trousers, black high- crowned hat, and old cossack boots, one of which has been patched on the side ; he speaks the English and Welsh languages, and stated that he was a native of Carmarthen, but has been travelling through different towns in England, and worked in Manchester; he also stated that his wife was living in Swansea. It is supposed that he arrived in Tredegar on the 17th instant; he will probably sell or pawn some of the articles, as he had no money with him when he absconded; he may be wearing part of the stolen things. Description of a man committed for trial at the next quarter sessions to be holden at Shrewsbury on the 5th day of January next, on two charges of obtaining money by false pretences, stating that he was a Dr. Lacey, of Shrewsbury : WILLIAM WILLIAMS, a travelling quack doctor, 42 years of age ( appears older), 5 feet fij inches high, dark complexion, dark hair and eyes, long visage, large dark whiskers and mous- tache, and has a little defect in the upper lid of left eye ; dressed in a dark mixture Inverness cape, ylark grey coat with velvet collar, dark grey trousers, and black vest; states that his father lives at No. 12, New- street, Woodlesworth, York- shire. A woman has been travelling with him who has lost her left hand a little above the wrist; states that they are well known to the Police at Hereford, Monmouth, and Brecon ; it is suspected that he has been previously convicted, or committed offences elsewhere. On the 17th instant, a man, representing himself as a clergyman named POWYS, obtained £ 50 in Notes and £ 50 in Gold at the Bank of Messrs. Hedges, Wells, and Co., of the Wallingford Bank. He has been presenting cheques on the Rochford and other banks in the name of Parish or Harris, in favour of the Rev. S. P. Powys or order. The above notes were changed the next day at Jones, Lloyd, and Co., London. He is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, round face, fair complexion, light- brown hair, light thin whiskers cut short and extending near to the point of the chin ; dressed in a long black coat with stand- up collar, white stock, and patent- leather boots. K.,' and an anchor on the thick of left arm, has lo'st the Second finger of right hand, and dressed in a black and red woollen shirt, dark cloth coat, vest, and trousers ; he states that he has a sister living in Leeds; and THOMAS McGUIRE, a tailor, no settled residence, 27 years of age, 5 feet. 6 inches high, blue eyes, dark brown hair, sallow complexion, whiskers shaved off. stoutly built, has three cut marks over left eye, two rifle- ball marks on each thigh passing from right to left thigh, and states that he has served in the 30th regiment ; dressed in a black and red woollen shirt, brown striped waistcoat, and old black cloth coat and trousers. On the 5t- h instant, gave his name WILLIAM MASON, alias WILLIAM JONES, 68 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair, sandy whiskers, cup mark on nape of neck ; says he is a native of London, was in the B Division of Police there; and was sentenced to three years' penal servitude for felony at Montgomeryshire midsummer sessions 1858 after a previous conviction of larceny. He also stands charged with stealing women's new Boots from a shop. She is from 20 to 25 years of age, rather good- looking ; dressed in a dark iinsey dress trimmed with red, a black cloak, a white straw- bonnet trimmed with red velvet, and had a loose cloak thrown across her arm : is a native of Diddington, Oxfordshire.
