DUBLIN, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4, 186a Scottish Police. UPON Tuesday, 17th November current, a bank cheque, addressed to tbo agent of the city of Glasgow Bank, Trongate, Glasgow payable to Mr. R. Lusk, wholesale provision merchant, Greenock, tor £ 105, and signed by " Alex. Osborne," purporting to be the sig- nature of Alexander Osborne, cheese merchant, Candle- riggs, Glasgow, and indorsed on the back, " W. and A. Coats, per Thomas Anderson," purporting to be the indorsation of Messrs. W . and A. Coats, provision merchants, Paisley, wns presented at the office of ihe Clydesdale Bank at Greenock, by the young man alter described, who received in payment £ V5 in Clydesdale Bank Notes, add a let'er of credit in name of W. and A. Coats, ou the Clydesdale Bank, for £ 50 ( No. 580), dated 17th November, 1863, and payable to Hendry Munro, Glasgow. From after inquiries, it has been discovered that ( ho foregoing signatures are forgeries, and that the money has heen feloniously obtained. Description :— About 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 to 6 ioclios high, slender make, sharp featured, blacK hair, and no whiskers; genteel and respectable appearance; spoke Engliih well, but supposed to be a Scotchman ; dark eyes, fresh complexion, but not ruddy. Dressed in a dress hat, dark sack or office coat, and supposed dark trowsers and vest. Police officers are requested to communicate this in- formation to fiank agents, and to search for and appre- hend the delinquent. Any information on the subject to be communicated to David Dewar, Superintendent of Police, Greenock. N. B.— The letterof credit has not yet been presented, so far as known. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagn, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts, of the country since the'said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within, six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Rogs and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Resident Magistrate at Longford. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of tipper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending aryl bringing to justice the perpetrators of Jliis murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward ol £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information^ shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. • By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 8, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of age, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black hair, a little gray; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. DESCRIPTION of a heifer calf, the property of Richard Dunne, of Knockavardagh, which was stolen from the lands of Knockavardagh, parish of Killenaule, barony of Slieveardash, on the night of the 26th instant:— A yellowish red colour heifer calf, 7 months old, having a white star on forehead, about two inches of the top of tail white, a small jiiece cut out of the under part of Westmeath. DUBLIN CASTLE, October 12, 1863. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that at the hour of 9 o'clock, on the night of the 22nd ultimo, Patrick Connor was way- laid and murdered on the public road at Carrick, in the barony of Fartullagh, and county of Westmeath, by a party of persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. And His Excellency is also pleased to offer a free pardon to any person concerned in this outrage, other than the person or persons who actually committed the murder, in case of his giving such evidence as will lead to the conviction of the persons concerned with him in the crime. The above reward will be paid by George Talbot, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Mullingar, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation.
