THE Police Gazette, OR Published for Ireland on every Tuesday and Friday. tf-' S" - All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and Cry, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary ( the words Hue- nnd- Cry to be written on the left hand corner of the Envelope). No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall h_.<- ^ vrorn; but it is not necessary to forward tho Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hne- and- Cry. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1863. English Police. WANTED, for causing the death ot Neil Fagan, by stabbing him with a knife, at Jarrow, near South Shields, in the county ot Durham, on the morning of the 25th of October, 1863, John Conlin, labourer, latterly em- ployed as a puddler, a native ot the town- of Armagh, Ireland, and belongs to tho militia of that county:— About 23 years of age, 5 feet t> or 7 inches high, dark brown bair, brown whiskers, meeting under the chin, round full face, ruddy complexion, supposed to bear small marks from recent scratches on nose, rather stoutly built, and slightly in- knee'd in the lett leg. Dressed, when last seen, in a blue pilot cloth jacket, datk cloth vest and trowsers, cloth cap, with peok, Wellington boots, and two white cotton shirts, one of which was supplied by the militia, and believed to be marked. It is earnestly requested that tho Police use every possible exertion in their respective districts in order to secure the apprehension of the above offender. DESCRIPTION of Thomas M'Eloskey, native of Mullen, who stands charged with having, on the 27th ot October, 1S63, in the barony of Clonkee, parish of Drumgoon, seriously assaulted Henry Dermott, by striking him on the head with a stone, from the effects of which he at present lies dangerously ill : — 19 years of ago, 5 lect I I inches high, slight make, callow com- plexion, round face, blue eyes, regular nose, fair hair; wore a light coloured tweed cap, coat, trowsers, and vest. DESCRIPTION of Mary Molony, native of Cloghlea, who stands charged with having, on the 15th October, instant, in tho barony of Bunratty, Lower, parish of Fenagh, killed and murdered her illegitimate child, of which she was delivored the same morning :— 22 years of age, 5 feot 4^ inches high, strong make, sallow complexion, swarthy face, grey eyes, large nose ( cocked), dark brown bair; wore a calico dress, faded brown cloth cloak, without cape, gathered with large plaits outside the shoulders; wore white cotton stock- ings and strong leather boots; her hair in a net, falling far down the back of her neck ; has all the appearances ot recent confinement; and is supposed to be concealed in some private lodgings in the city of Limerick. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at arid wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the l. ord Lieutenant is pleased to otter a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since tho said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew Jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder;- is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LABOOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 8, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of age, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long no3e, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline bat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.) £ 50 REWARD. WHEREAS, on the morning of the 24th instant, the body of John Kelly, small farmer, was found on the public road at Ballyspillane, in the barony of Lower Ormond, county Tipperary, having been murdered by a party unknown. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that at the hour of 9 o'clock, on the night of the 22nd ultimo, Patrick Connor was way- laid and murdered on the public road at Carrick, in the barony of Fartullagh, and county of Westmeath, by a party of persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. And His Excellency is also pleased to offer a free pardon to any person concerned in this outrage, other than the person or persons who actually committed the murder, in case of his giving such evidence as will lead to the conviction of the persons concerned with him in the crime.
