DUBLIN, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1863. Scottish Police. DESCRIPTION of James Christie, wanted in Edin- burgh, on a charge of child- stealing. He is about 28 or 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches ia height, very dark and thin featured, black hair and whiskers; said to be a native of England; wants somo of his front teeth; has a sore leg. Dressed in a long tailed black coat, light coloured vest, and black hat, and Welling- ton boots, cut short. He goe9 about preaching, and carries a book under his arm. Description of Child. Patrick Branagan, age 2 years and 9 months, full face, white haired, dark brown eyes; has a scar on bis throat from a burn. Drossed in a dark brown frock, Rob Roy tartan tippet, small check, lacing boots, worn at the toes, and purpled coloured stockings. Police officers and others are requested to make particular search for the above described person and child, and if he is apprehended, or any trace of them found, to communicate with Mr. Dymock, procurator- fiscal, City Chambers, Edinburgh. DESCRIPTION of a cow, the property of George M'Cable, which was stolen from the lands of Newtown, parish of Saggard, barony of Newcastle, on or about the 14th day of October, 1863:— A red and white cow, dry for the last three months, crooked horns, an inch was cut off the right one about a week ago to prevent it from injuring the eye ; the animal was about six years old ; in good condition, and value for about £ 15. DESCRIPTION of a cart, the property of Owen Con- nelly, which was stolen out of his yard in the lands of Hazlehatch, parish of Newcastle, barony of Newcastle, on the 19th day of October, 1863, viz.:— Nearly new, painted red, heels about eighteen inches in lengtb, thin shafts, drooping down very much at the point, made chiefly of ash. A grey mare was, at same time, stolen from Nicholas Fitzimons, of Ballscott, county Kildare; and it is considered probable that the same person com- mitted both offences. Lucan, 22nd Oct, 1863. DESCRIPTION of a mare, the property of Nicholas Fitzsimons, which was stolen from the lands of Balls- cott, parish of Stacumney, barony of South Salt, on the night of the 19th, or morning of the 20th day of October, 1863:— An iron gray mare, 4J yeurs old, about 15 hands high, the bair of the tail, out to the bone, a slight mark at the navel, where a wart had been cut out; was in fair condition, and value for about £ 20. " WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross, By His Excellency's command, Thos. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Resident Magistrate at Longford. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of ago, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown hair; wore a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; wore a jim crow hat. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew Jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the pefson or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 8, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 80th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, largo heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teetb, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.) WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that at the hour of 9 o'clock, on the night of the 22nd ultimo, Patrick Connor was way- laid and murdered on the public road at Carrick, in the barony of Fartullagh, and county of Westmeath, by a party of persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. And His Excellency is also pleased to offer a free pardon to any person concerned in this outrage, other than the person or persons who actually committed the murder, in case of his giving such evidence as will lead to the conviction of the persons concerned with him in the crime. The above reward will be paid by George Talbot, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Mullingar, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation.
