Published for Ireland on every Tuesday and Friday. 1 - Bg= B- g -- ( t^ f* All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and Cry, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary ( the words Hue- and- Cry to be written on the left hand corner of the Envelope). No Description can ba inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. I As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1863. Scottish Police. DESCRIPTION of James Christie, wanted in Edin- burgh, on a charge of child- stealing. He is about 28 or 30 years of age, 5 ( eet 8 or 9 ioches in height, very dark and thin featured, black bair and whiskers; said to be a native of England ; wants some ot his front teeth; has a sore leg. Dressed in a long tailed black coat, light coloured vest, and black hat, and Welling- ton boots, cut short. He goes about preaching, and carries a book under his arm. Description of Child. Patrick Branagan, age 2 years and 9 months, full face, white haired, dark brown eyes; has a scar on bis throat from a burn. Dressed in a dark brown frock, Rob Roy tartan tippet, small check, lacing boots, worn at the toes, and purpled coloured stockings. Police officers and others are requested to make particular search for the above described person and child, and if he is apprehended, or any trace of them found, to communicate with Mr. Dymock, Procurator- Hscal, City Chambers, Edinburgh. DESCRIPTION of Mary Molony, native of Cloghlea, wbo stands charged with having, on the 15th October, instant, in the barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Fenagh, caused the death ot tier illegitimate child, of which she had been delivered the same morning :—' 22 years of age, 5 feot 4^ inches high, strong make, sallow complexion, swarthy face, thick lips, dark brown hair; wore a light calico frock, a black or blue cloth cape, no cap or bonnet, strong shoes. DESCRIPTION of Philip M'Mahon, native of Fer- managh, who stands charged with having, on the 13th instant, in the barony of Clonkelly, parish of Clones, committed a grevious assault upon Bernard Beggan, of Urumswords, from the effects of which he is confined to his bed :— 40 years of ago, 5 feet 6 inches high, slight make, pale complexion, thin face, blue e^ os, long nose, black hair; wore a cloth cap, without a peak ; black cloth coat, cord trowsers, tweed vest; has long locks of hair at each side of his face, and weers his whiskers cut away behind, a little allowed to grow in front of his face. THE POLICE GAZETTE, OR HUE- AND- CRY, OCTOBER 13, 1863. murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding bis wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on tho 2( Tth April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said, murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided -'.'. in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Boss and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LAROOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Resident Magistrate at Longford. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew Jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 8, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from ftle date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the. Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 foet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, carolino hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slbvenly gait when walking; has a doton look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; sevoral of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, falso teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.) WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that at the hour of 9 o'clock, on tho night of the 22nd ultimo, Patrick Connor was way- laid and murdered on the public road at Carrick, in the barony of Fartullagh, and county of Westmeath, by a party of persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. And His Excellency is also pleased to offer a freo pardon to any person concerned in this outrage, other than the person or persons who actually committed the murder, in case of his giving such evidence- as will lead to the conviction of the persons concerned with him in the crime.
