DUBLIN, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 1863. Scottish Police. DESCRIPTION of James Christie, wanted in Edin- burgh, on a chargo of child- stealing. He is about 28 or 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches in height, very dark and thin featured, black hair and whiskers; said » o be a native of England; wants some of his front teeth ; has a sore leg. Dressed in a long tailed black coat, light coloured vest, and black hat, and Welling- ton boots, cut short. He goes about preaching, and carries a book under his arm. Description of Child. Patrick Branagan, age 2 years and 9 months, full face, white haired, dark brown eyes; has a scar on his throat from a burn. Dressed in a daik brown frock, Rob Roy tartan tippet, small check, lacing boots, worn at the toes, and purpled coloured stockings. Police officers and others are requested to make particular search for the above described person and child, and if ho is apprehended, or any trace of them found, to communicate with Mr. Dymock, Procurator- Fiscal, City Chambers, Edinburgh. DESCRIPTION of Denis Murphy, who stands charged with having, on the night of 3rd instant, in the barony of Orery, parish of Ballyclough, townland of Curragh- lehane, stolen the undermentioned articles of wearing apparel, the property of Honora Clancy:— About 20 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, stout make, dark complexion, dark bair, cast in both eyes, heavy soft appearauce; wore a blue frock coat, cord trowsers, flannel vest, black and white spotted necktie, cloth cap; has beard growing under the chin, as if never shaved. Description of articles stolen :— A dark frieze frock coat, with horn buttons, body lined with flannel, and the sleeves lined with tweed, body seams outside; value £ 1 ; a dark tweed trowsers, with red stripe, hav- ing a piece of flannel on waistband under back buttons; value 6s. Murphy is a stranger, and, on the date named, entered the employment of Honora Clancy as farm servant. A warrant for his apprehension has t) 66ti issued. Kanturk, 7th Oct., 1863. ( B. 25244— 18721.) DESCRIPTION of two sheep, the property of Timothy Donovan, which were stolen from the lands of Pluck- anes, parish of Donoughmore, barony of Barretts, on the 30th ultimo, viz.:— 2 white ewe sheep, value for about £ 4; marked with the letters T. D. on the right side, with black pitch ; one had a black patch on the neck near the ear, scarcely visible; they both had the appearance of rust from chains oo their necks from being yoked. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the county siqce the said murder: Now, His Excellency. _ the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or" person3 who shall, within six months from the date | hereof, give such information as shall lead to the^ arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whateverin their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Resident Magistrate at Longford. Tipperary. ^ DUBLIN CASTLE, June 9,1863. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew Jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 8, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of age, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline bat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray bairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, falsa teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1802. ( B. 10071— 10283.)
