DUBLIN CASTLE, June 30, 1863. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder ol John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagli, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 2Uth April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person oi persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, - or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Resident Magistrate at Longford. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown bair; wore a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; wore a jirn crow hat Will try to escape to America. DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned, who, on the night of 15th August, 1863, slolo a £ 100 note aud a £ 50 note, of the Hank of Ireland, fromJ. be person of a man, who was under the influence of drink, in this city :— Rose Byrne, about 35 years of age, low size, dark brown hair, mark of an old cut on forehead, large ordinary mouth, bad, discoloured teeth, hard features, speaks a strong northern accent, and is a prostitute. It is supposed that she has gone to Waterford or Kil- kenny, and that she has the greater portion of the money still in her possession. Information to Superin teodent R\ an, No. 3, Exchange Court, Dublin, who iiolds a warrant for her arrest. 9th September, 1863. ( R. 7355.) DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned convict, whose ticket of licence has been revoked:— Michael Delany, 30 years of age, 5 foot 5^ inches high, stout make, brown hair and eyebrows, hazel eyes, tegular nose and mouth, oval visage, and fresh freckled complexion. Born at North King- street, Dublin, and his wife resides in Carrick on- Suir, ci unty Tipperary. Was convicted at Ballinasloe, county Galway, of laceny from the per- son, at the Michaelmas Sessions, held on the 19th October, 1860, and sentenced to three years' penal servitude. DESCRIPTION of" Norah" ( as the woman alleged), supposed native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 15th Sept. instant, in the barony of Drogheda, parish ot St. Peter, deserted a female child, about a year old, by leaving her in the yard of the Convent of the Sisters ot Charity, William- street, Drogheda:— 30 jears of age, 5 leet 4 inches high, slight make, sallow complexion, thin long face, dark eyes, thin long nose, dark hair; wore a cotton dress, old green shawl, old bonnet, high in front, with black and white roll. Left Drogheda on the night of 15th instant, and went in the direction of Dublin. The child ( Mary), has the mark ot a raspberry on the bend of the right arm. The woman stated that her child is illegitimate, and that its father is a boot and shoe maker, was in the militia, and has left Dublin for England. Drogheda, 17th Sept., 1863. ( B. 24333— 13877.) THE POLICE GAZETTE, 02, HUE- illfD- CKY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1863. £ 5 REWARD. WHEREAS on the night of Tuesday, the 8th instant, a milch cow, 4 years old, white and red colour, and a heifer, 2 years old, white and gray colour ( my pro- perty), were stolen off the lands of Richardstown. I hereby promise to give £ 5 reward to any person who will give me such information as will enable me to de- tect the thief, or to any person ( except the thief) who will enable me to recover the cattle. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Brady, native of Newtown, Roscommon, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of September, 1863, in the barony of Moy- carn, parish of Creagh, and townland of Clarary, dangerously assaulted William Hogarty, on returning from the market of Ballinasloe, by giving him a blow of a stone on the forehead, from the effects of which he now lies dangerously ill, and no hope of his re- covery :— 23 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout make, dark complexion, round plump face, dark eyes, regular nose, dark brown hair; wore a white jerry hat, gray frieze coat, tweed trowsers, tweed vest, laced shoes. Has a fresh wound or cut under the left eye, and another cut on tho top or side of the head. DESCRIPTION of Michael Carway, native of Sligo, who stands charged with having, on the 10th day of September, 1863, at Sligo, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Cabry, stolen the sum of £ 10 17s. 6d., the property of Farrell Conlan:— 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, fair or sandy hair, grey eyes; turns the toes very much in when walk- ing, being nearly reel- footed; wore a small round jerry hat, blue outside coat, with pockets sewed on the outside; blue inside coat, brown trowsers, brown vest. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew Jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 8, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 80th of July, 1862, in the town ot Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of age, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black friezo body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man.
