No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned, who, on the night of 15th August, 1863, stole a £ 100 note and a £ 50 note, of the bank of Ireland, from tbe person of a man, who was under the influence of drink, in this city :— Rose Byrne, about 35 years of age, low size, dark brown hair, mark of an old cut on forehead, large ordinary mouth, bad, discoloured teeth, hard features, speaks a strong northern accent, and is a prostitute. It is supposed that she has gone to Waterford or Kil- kenny, and that she has the greater portion of the money still in her possession. Information to Superin- tendent Ryan, No. 3, Exchange Court, Dublin, who holds a warrant for her arrest. Oth September, 1863. ( R. 7355.) DESCRIPTION of tbe undermentioned convict, whose ticket ot licence has been revoked:— Michael Delany, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5^ inches high, stout make, brown hair and eyebrows, hazel eyes, regular nose and mouth, oval visage, and fresh freckled complexion. Born at North King- street, Dublin, and bis wife resides in Carrick- on- Suir, county Tipperary. Was convicted at Ballinasloe, county Galway, of laceny from the per- son, at the Michaelmas Sessions, held on tbe 19th October, 1860, and sentenced to three years' penal servitude. DESCRIPTION of Alfred Jones, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of September, at DUN- drum Central Asylum, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Taney, effected his escape, he being a criminal lunatic, convicted of burglary at Cork in October, 1861 :— 25 years of age, 5 feet 7^ inches high, slight make, pale complexion light hair, brown eyes, long sharp visage, regular mouth and nose; wore a striped tweed trowsers, flannel vest. Was convicted for bur- glary, and sentenced to ten years' penal servitude. He took with him a sheet and double blanket, branded with tbe letters D. L. DESCRIPTION of Timothy Connor, native of Letter- gorrive, who stands charged with having, on the 5th day of September, 1863, at Lettergorrive, in the barony of Dunkerron, North, parish of Knookane, committod rape:— 47 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, stout make, dark complexion, dark hair, grey eyes ; has a mole on right cheek, with a few hairs growing on it; mark of a cut on the back of one of bis hands; wore a black jerry hat, dark frieze coat, cord trowsers. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firii if? at and wounding his wi/ e, Mary Corrigan, near Mi dkagh, in the barony of Longford, and comity of Longford, on the 20th April; 1862, and who have not as* yet been THE POLICE GAZETTE, OE KUE- ANPfc^, SEPTEMBER 18, 1863. arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Resident Magistrate at Longford. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown hair; woro a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; wore a jim crow hat. Will try to escape to America. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew Jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperavy, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to tho arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under tho conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 8, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in tho town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from tho date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since tho said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, tho said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LABOOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of age, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait whon walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on tho crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws ; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.)
