C3T* All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and Cry, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary ( the words Hue- and- Cry to be written on tho left hand corner of the Envelope). No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward tho Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue and- Cry. DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned, who, on the night of 15th August, 1863, stgle a £ 100 note and a £ 50 note, of the bank of Ireland, from the person of a man, who W8s under the influence of drink, in this city:— Rose Byrne, about 35 years of age, low size, dark brown hair, mark of an old cut on forehead, large ordinary mouth, bad, discoloured teeth, hard features, speaks a strong northern accent, and is a prostitute. It is supposed that she has gone to Waterford or Kil- kenny, and that she has tho greater portion of the money still in her possession. Information to Superin- tendent R_\ an, No. 3, Exchange Court, Dublin, who holds a warrant for her arrest. 9th September, 1863. ( R. 7355.) DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned convict, whose ticket of licence has been revoked:— Michael Delany, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5^- inches high, stout make, brown hair and eyebrows, hazel eyes, regular nose and mouth, oval visage, and fresh freckled complexion. Born at North King- street, Dublin, and his wife resides in Carrick on- Suir, county Tipperary. Was convicted at Ballinasloe, county Galway, of laceny from the per- son, at the Michaelmas Sessions, held on the 19th October, 1860, and sentenced to three years' penal servitude. Information to Superintendent Ryan, No. 3, Exchange- court, Dublin, who holds a warrant for his arrest. 12th September, 1863. DESCRIPTION of Alfred Jones, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of September, at Dim- drum Central Asylum, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Taney, effected his escape, he being a criminal I inatic, convicted of burglary at Cork in October, 1861 :— 25 years of ago, 5 feet inches high, slight make, palecomplexion, light hair, brown eyes, long sharp visage, regular mouth and nose; wore a striped tweed trowsers, flannel vest. Was convicted for bur- glary, and sentenced to ten years' penal servitude, tie took with him a sheet and double blanket, branded with the letters D. L. DESCRIPTION of Pat Carney, native of Leitrim, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 10th Sept. inst., at Trynemore, in the barony Mohill, in the parish of Mohill, been one of two men who assaulted and robbed William M'Bride of the sum ot 18s., when returning home from the fair of Mohill:— 36 years of age, 5 feet 9^ inches high, slight make, pale com- plexion, small face, gray eyes, regular nose, black hair; wore an ol J cloth cap, black cloth coat, cord trowsers, black cloth vest; poor delicate looking ap- pearance. DESCRIPTION of Bridget Collins, native of Limerick, wbo stands charged with having, on the 28th August, 1863, at Carrigkettle, in the barony of Smallcounty, parish of Kilteely, deserted her female infant child, full grown, thereby causing its death :— 22 years of age, 4 feet 6 inches high, stout make, regular face, gray eyes, dark brown hair; wore a black cloth circular cloak, red stuff dress, water stuff petticoat, and white flannel petticoat, green plaid shawl, white or brown stockings, laced boots ; has also an old greenish plaid dress, which she wore when at work; has a net for her hair, but did not wear it. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any ono whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, Thos. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Resident Magistrate at Longford. THE POLICE GAZETTE, OH HUE- AND- CRY, SEPTEMBER 149, 1863. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray ayes, sharp nose, cut oh his lip, brown hair; wore a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark v6st; wore a jim crow hat. Will try to escape to America. James, 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight make, dark complexion, thin face, gray eyes, regular nose, black hair; wore a dark frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, dark tweed vest; wore an old dark cloth cap. DUBLIN CASTLE, June 9, 1863. j WHEREAS it " has been represented to the Lord! Lieutenant, that j^ n the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, September 9, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 80th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, witihin six months fV6m the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michaol Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of tho Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 6' 0 years of age, 6 feet high, stout mako/ Hark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, father long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man.
