CLARA HEPBURN, otherwise JANE HEBORN, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 3rd instant, charged with the Manslaughter of her Child at Gloucester, has been arrested and committed to the assizes on the charge.— Bow- street, Auaust 14. FORGERY. Absconded from Bristol, on the 24th ultimo, charged with Forgery, and also with embezzling the monies of the Trustees of Roads, WILLIAM BROWN DRURY, late surveyor of roads of the Aust and Horfield district: he is 33 or 34 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, very sallow complexion, dark brown hair, whiskers and moustache, round features, good looking, and supposed to be bald ; dressed in black cloth coat, vest and trousers, and black hat; sometimes wears a white felt hat with brim turned up at the sides; has been residing at Pelham- house, Berkeley- road, Horfield ; his father resides at Birmingham, and has relations at Bromsgrove ; was formerly in the employ of the Water Works Company at Preston. In- formation to be given to the Chief Superintendent of Police, Bristol, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, August 12. ROBBERY AND LARCEK :,. THE PERSON. : mm Stolen, 10 p. m. 9th instant, from the person of Mr. J. Hannan, of 77, King William- street, City, while in the wait- ing room of the Camden Road Railway Station, a gold iever Watch, jewelled in 6 holes, compensation balance, maker Thomas Griffin, Paul- street, Fmahuvy.— Metropolitan Police, S Division, August 14. Stolen between 1 and 6 a. m. 9th instant, from the person of James Harding, while in a boat on Grand Junction Canal, North Hyde, precinct of Norwood, a leather Purse, containing £ 1 9s. By a man, 20 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, very much pockpitted, brown hair, no Whiskers ; dress, dirty white slop, moleskin trousers, old cloth cap.— Metropolitan Police, T Division, August 12. Stolen in Brighton on the 7th instant, from the person, a double case silver lever Watch, maker ' Widenham and Adams,' a stout gold Albert Chain and Key with a green and white stone attached. Information to be given to the Borough Police, Town Hall, Brighton.— Bow- street, August 10. Stolen from the. person of a lady at Tewkesbury Regatta, on the 4th instant, a lady's gold Watch, maker's name Jacob Locke, No. 94489. Also stolen from the person of a lady, while at the Midland Railway Station, Cheltenham, on the same day, a lady's gold verge Watch, has a gold dial, with raised figures, no seconds hand, and has a scratch between the figures 11 and 12. Supposed by travelling thieves, who visited the Regatta at Tewkesbury. Information to be given to Mr. Charles Coleman, Superintendent of Police, Cheltenham. — Bow- street, August 10. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING During the night of the 9th instant, the house of Mr. Jno. Bonnett, of Barton, was broken and entered ( supposed by a tramp), and a fiddle pattern silver Tea Spoon, marked ' B,,' and a Bag containing 2s. in Coppers stolen therefrom. Infor- mation to be given to Detective Inspector Long, Chesterton, Cambridge.— Bow- street, August 14. During the night of the 9th instant, or early the following morning, a cottage occupied by Robert Boulton, situate in the centre of Ashton Keyns, was broken and entered by taking a pane of glass out of a back window and opening the casement, and several drawers were forced open in a bureau. The follow- ing property was stolen : a Sovereign, three half ditto, and £ 4 6s. in Silver ; a bag containing seven silver Tea Spoons, old fashioned ; and a workbox containing Ribbons. Two lodgers, natives of Littleton Drew are in custody on suspicion, but none of the property has been recovered. Information to be given to Mr. William Staples, Superintendent, Malmesbury, Wilts. — Bow- street, Auqust 14. Between 8 a. m. and 3 p. m. on the 10th instant, the dwel- ling- house of Jesse Faucett, at Yalding, Kent, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : a light Shawl with dark border; three pieces of Cloth, two black ( about 6 yards), one pepper- and- salt ( about 3 yards) ; 2 yards of Calico; a red cotton Handkerchief; some Cheese, Bre. td, Tea, and Sugar. A man was seen near the house in the fore- noon, about 40 years of age, 5 i'eet 8 inches high, whiskers meeting under the chin ; dressed in long cord jacket, vest, and trousers. Information to be given to Mr, Hulse, Superinten- dent, Kent Constabulary, East Mailing.— Bow- street, Aug. 14. On the 9th instant the dwelling- house of Mrs. Brownsill, No. 9, Crouch- street, Neithrop, in the parish of Banbury, was entered by means of false keys, and the following property stolen therefrom : a black velvet Mantle, embroidered in flowers and deep fringe and long black bugles ; a violet silk do. trimmed with black velvet, three rows of narrow fringe, and has been mended on the top near the neck ; a brown sable Boa; one ditto flat ; one pair of sable Cuffs to match ; one black cloth Cloak; about 3 yards of striped Barege; a dozen of Table Knives and Forks, white handles ; a dozen of Dessert ditto, all recently ground ; a new Carving Knife and Fork. Supposed by two men, who were seen loitering about near the house, one about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, large black whiskers ; dressed in a dark suit, of respect- able appearance. The other about 35 years of age, 6 feet 8 or 9 inches high, fresh complexion, red hair and ( large) whiskers, slight moustache; dressed in dark clothes, of respectable appearance. £ 5 reward will be paid by Mrs. Brownsill to any person who will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders. In- formation to be given to Mr. Whatcoat, Superintendent, Ban- bury, Oxon.— Bow- street, August 14. Between the hours of 12 and 1 p. m. on the 10th instant, the cottage of Thomas Simmons, labourer, Lingfield* Surrey, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : £- lb. of salt Butter, a small piece of Cheese, a small piece of Pork, and 12s. 6d. in Money. During the night of the 12th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Lewin, of Huntingdon, was entered, and a Pork Pie and the following silver Articles stolen, viz. : 1 Dessert Knife and Fork, embossed, ivory handles. 1 child's Spoon and Fork, embossed. 12 Tea Spoons, marked ' G. L. L.' in a garter; 3 ditto, marked 1 H. M. H.'; 3 ditto, plain. 2 Table Spoons, marked ' G. L. B.' 2 Salt Spoons, marked ' G. L. B.'; 1 ditto, marked ' F.'; 2 ditto, twisted handles ; two small ditto, plain. 1 Mustard and 2 Dessert Spoons, marked ' F.' 1 large Soup Ladle, marked ' G. L. B.' and 2 Gravy Ladles, marked ' G. L. L.' 1 pair of Sugar Tongs, marked ' G. L. L.'; 1 ditto, plain. 1 large thin Punch Ladle, broken off the handle. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent J. Marson, Huntingdon.— Bow- street, August 14. Between the hours of 10 p. m. on the 11th, and 4 a. m. on the 12th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Thomas Brown, the Sproad Farm, in the parish of Clun, Salop, was burglariously entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : a plaid cloth Coat, much worn, pockets on the side and left breast; a dark ribbed cloth Coat, pockets on the side ; two black jim- crow Hats, one old, tke other new ; an old cotton Dress, with blue and white spots; a pair of strong navvy lace- up Boots; a pair of slight lace- up Boots, brass eyelet- holes; a pair of women's cloth Boots, goloshed, and laced inside ; two pairs of men's lace- up Boots, nearly new ; a pair of old lace- up Boots ; and a pair of slight Cossack Boots, nearly new. Information to be given to Sergeant Scale, Bishop's Castle; or to P. C. Wm. Preece, Clun, Salop. Bow- street, August 14. Between the hours of 3 and 6 p. m. on the 12th instant, the cottage of Richard Widley, Graxly, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : a black cloth Jacket, nearly new, with a pocket in flap at each side, and one inside breast pocket; a black cloth Waistcoat, buttons up to the neck with one row of buttons ; a pair of brown cloth Trou- sers much worn, have been cut off at the bottom and turned up, also soiled down the legs ; a pair of light broad corduroy ditto, nearly new, with red braid round the top, have been cut off at bottom and turned, up ; and an old- fashioned large- sized woollen red and white plaid Shawl, much worn. Supposed by some person or persons loitering about at Reading races. In- formation to be given to Superintendent George Crook, Berks Constabulary Station, Reading.— Bow- street, August 14. Stolen, during the night of the 11th instant, by means of burglary, fron Elwick Hall, near West Hartlepool, in the county of Durham, a gold Watch and Guard, maker's name ' Lowe, Chester'; a dark leather Pocket Book, containing two Bank of England Notes, one for £ 200, the other for £ 100, a Cheque for £ 75 ( supposed Coutts's) signed by ' Bristow'; four Sovereigns, and a little Silver and Copper ; a gold Breast Pin, the figure of a horse forming the head, and two gold Shirt Studs. Any person giving such information as will lead to the appre- hension and conviction of the offender or offenders, and reco- very of the property, shall receive £ 20 reward, or in proportion thereof to the amount recovered. Information to be given to Mr. J. W. Dixon, Superintendent of Durham County Con- stabulary..— Bow- street, August 14. Between the hours of 1 and 2 a. m. on the 8th instant, the jewellers shop of Mr. Simpson Mowday, situate in the High- street, Chesham, was burglariously broken and entered, and the following Watches stolen therefrom, viz.: 1 English lever Watch, consular cases, No. 7115. 1 metal gilt Geneva ditto, open face, No. 63307. 1 ditto, ditto, consular cases, open face, small size. 1 ditto, hunting Watch, large size. 2 English verge Watches, consular cases, unfinished. 1 plain hunting Watch, winds up in face, and chipped round the key- hole. 1 silver Geneva Watch, open face, No. 25520. 1 metal Geneva ditto, open face. 4 verge ditto, with German silver consular cases. 2 silver verge ditto, double- cases, one large size, the other small. 3 old ditto, in new cases, unfinished. 4 good second- hand ditto, in consular and hunting cases. Three men are suspected, one of whom is a boatman, a native of Dudley, Staffordshire, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, fair complexion, and rather stout built; dressed in a blue cloth monkey- jacket, cord trousers, dark cap with peak, and blucher boots ; a returned convict, having been con- victed 4 years ago for a similar offence upon the same person at Berkhampstead, Herts. The others are described as having a dirty appearance, and one is rather taller than the other ; dressed in a blue and white striped slop, and an old white felt hat turned up at the front and sides. Information to be given to Mr. C. Hodgkinson, Superintendent of Police, Wycombe, or to Ins-. .\ or Jas. Carruthers, County Police, Station, Ches- ham, Buckinghamshire.— Bow- street, August 12. On the 9th instant, between the hours of 11 a. m. and 1 p. m., the dwelling- house of Mrs. Maria Sheppard, West- street, Fare- ham, was entered by means of skeleton keys, and the following property stolen therefrom, viz.: 1 chased silver quart Cup, with two handles, ' Maria Knight, 1788,' engraved on it. 1 large old- fashioned double- cased silver Watch, gold hands, and large gold Key attached. 1 small silver Geneva Watch, open face, No. 99. 2 large silver Table Spoons, ' W. M. S., 1831,' engraved on them. 6 silver Table Spoons, with three initials on them. 7 stiver Dessert Spoons, two with initials ' E. S.', two ' S. S.', one ' L. S.', and two not marked. 12 silver Tea Spoons, initials ' W. M. S.' 1 pair of Sugar Tongs, ditto. 1 small silver Punch Ladle. 1 large gold Ring for keys, old- fashioned, with plain gold Ring attached to it, ' gift of a friend,' marked on the inside. 1 plain gold Mourning Ring. 1 gold Ring with small Stone. 1 small gold Ring with small blue forget- me- not. 1 small oval gold Brooch, set in pearls, with the letter ' C' in the centre. 1 gold Brooch with plaited hair. 1 Brooch with white stone and sprig of small stones. 1 small silver Pencil Case. 1 red silk Purse, containing 5| Sovereigns. 1 long green silk Purse, containing 3 Five- shilling Pieces, and 10 Half- crowns. 1 Pocket book containing about £ C> in Money, and several Memoranda. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Drew, Hants Constabulary, Fareham.— Bow- street, August 12. Between the hours of 10 p. m. and 6 a. m. on the night of the 10th instant, the shop of Mr. Robert Parnaby, of Hoving- ham, in the North Riding of Yorkshire, was broken and entered, and the following shoemakers' tools, & c., stolen there- from : eight Awls, a pair of Pincers, ten Finishing Irons, a pair of Quarter Boot Legs, a pair of Shoe Tops ready for bottoming, three Balls of Thread. Information to be given to Inspector Walmsley, North Riding Constabulary, Malton.— Bow- street, Auqust 12. Between 12 at noon on the 6th instant and 6 p. m. on the 6th, a small unoccupied cottage in a field at Kinacote was entered, by means of breaking the window, and the following property stolen therefrom, belonging Mr. John Wormleighton: a double- barrelled Gun, with silver- wire twisted barrels, and bright maple stock, on the locks the maker's name Sanders, Loughborough ; a Pouch for Shot; a Powder Flask; a few Caps, some Wadding, a Drinking Glass, and three dead Rabbits. Supposed by a Tramp. Information to be given to Mr. John Deakins, Superintendent of Police, Lutterworth, Leicestershire. — Bow- street, August 10. On the night of the 7th or early on the morning of the 8th instant, the warehouse of Messrs. Spittle Brothers, gun- lock manufactory, situated in Albert- street, Wednesbury, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen there- from : about 400 Gun Locks, 300 Sights, and 56 bar- steel detanted Locks, with large stucks to seers. Whoever will give such information to Inspector Holland, Police Station, Wednes- bury, Staffordshire, as shall lead to the conviction of the offenders, shall receive £ 5 reward.— 3ou>- street, offender or August 10. Between the hours 11 p. m. on the 7th and ( 5 a. m. on the 8th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Thomas Henry Williams, of Aire- street, Castleford, ironmonger, & c., was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom :— 20 gold plated Brooches, chiefly set in imitation of topaz. 2 silver ditto one set with Scotch pebble. 4 pairs of gold Earrings. 1 pair of gold Spectacles. 5 pairs of gold plated Earrings. 5 gold Alberts. I hair Bracelet, gold mounted. 6 silver Thimbles. 11 pairs of mourning Earrings ( 3 pairs jet, 8 imitation). 1 set of gold plated Sleeve Links. 6 dozen nickel silver Table Spoons, No. 2. 6 albata plated ditto. 2 dozen nickel silver Tea Spoons, No. 1. 2 pairs ditto Sugar Tongs. i , 5 nickel silver Watch Guards. i 4 German silver Alberts. H. Williams, ironmonger, Castleford. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Hall, West Riding Consta- bulary, Pontefract, Yorkshire.— Bom- street, August 10. On the night of the 4th or morning of the 5th instant, the house of the Rev. Mr. Stockdale, the vicarage, Baslow, was burglariously entered, by forcing up the cellar grating, but the offender or offenders were interrupted and made their escaps. Also, during the same night, the house of Mr. John White, the • Devonshire Arms' inn, Baslow, was likewise burglariously entered by breaking a square of the bar window of the said inn and unfastening the same, and stole therefrom the Plate- basket, containing ten silver Table Spoons, one marked ' R. F,'; eighteen plated Spoons; eighteen plated Forks, six of them marked with a ' W.'; a large Fork ; eleven plated Table Forks, one marked ' W.' ; twelve. plated Tea Spoons ; a plated Fish Knife and Fork, in Cases ; a pair of silver Spectacles, the glass out of one sight; and about half- a- box of Cigars. Any person giving such information as will lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders, shall be rewarded. Information to be given at the County Police Station, Derby ; at any of the Dis- trict Police Stations ; or to W. T. Rust, Superintendent Con- stabulary Office, Bakewell.— Bow- street, August 10 On the 4th instant, between the hours of ITT and 12 a. m., the dwelling- house of David Gorruge, at Copshorn, Worth, Sussex, was broken and entered, and a nearly new corded Jacket, and a nearly new dark plaid woollen Dress; the property of James Harris, a lodger, stolen therefrom : supposed by a man about 35 years of age, 5 feet G inches high, light complexion and hair ; dressed in a dark velveteen jacket, light cord trousers, and black billycock hat; was traced to Smallfield, Surrey, in company with three other men, sup- posed to be tramps. Information to be given to Mr. Superin- tendent Kennard, Police Station, East Grinstead, Sussex.— Bow- street, August 10. eighteen Sheep, of the following description, viz.: seven Ewes, two of them half- bred, and five pure Cheviots, one of them fat, j all marked ' D.' ( encircled), on the right side, with a round hole near the tip, and a notch in the fore part of the right' ear ; eleven Lambs, some of them half, and others three parts bred, all marked with a spot of tar on the near rib. Information to be given to Mr. A. Mitchell, Chief Constable of Caithness, County Police Office, Wick.— Bom- street., August 14. On the night of the 3rd instant, a giinmer hog Sheep was slaughtered in a field on Grindon Farm, Norham, Northumber- land, the skin was stolen, and the carcass left in an adjoining field. The skin marked ' B' on the near hip ; the property of E. Black, Esq., Grindon. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Marshall, Lowick, Northumberland.— Bow- street, August 12. Supposed to have been stolen on the 27th ultimo, from a field at Knackersnowle, near Plymouth, a bay gelding Pony, 5 years old, about 12£ hands high, bang tail, knees blemished, ' W' branded on the back under the saddle place, and is a fast trotter. A reward of 10s. will be paid on his recovery, by Hammett < fc Co., Butchers, Plymouth Market, to whom infor- mation is to be given.— Bow- street, August 12. Supposed to have been stolen from Lindfield, Sussex, during the night of the 5th instant, the property of Mr. John Jones, licensed hawker, of Withyham, Sussex, " a light brown Mare, aged, about 14 or 15 hands high, hind feet white, a little white on one fore foot, white star on forehead, grey over the eyes, large belly, and long switch tail. Information to be given at the Chief Constables Office, Lewes ; Superintendent J. Akehurst, Cuckfield ; P. C. J. Churchfield, Lindfield ; or any Police Station in East Sussex.— Bow- street, August 12. Stolen recently from Cleeve Hill, a bay Horse, about 5 years old, 15 or 1G hands high, has a white mark down the face, a white hind foot, and a white mark round one of his fore feet, the property of Mr. Charles Newman, of Woodman- cote. Information to be given to Mr. Charles Coleman, Super- intendent, Cheltenham.— Bow- street, August 10. Found at Oulton Cross, Stone, supposed to have been stolen on or about the 23rd ultimo, a Stirk of the following description, viz. : red colour, short horns, marked with white about the belly, small wfeite spot on forehead and rump, and very much spotted about the hind legs. Information'to be given to Mr. Superintendent Keith, Stone, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, August 10. HORSE & ND CATTLI. ? If. The brown Mare Pony, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 10th instant, as supposed to have been stolen from Mr. James Critchlow, butcher, of Moneyash, near Bakewell, Derbyshire, has been recovered, and restored to the owner.— Bow- street, August 14. Supposed to have been stolen, on the night of the 1st instant, eight Ewes, marked ' F. II.' in pitch on near side, and an undercut in near ear ; they were last seen in a field at Tony Hill, Lenham, and are the property of Frederick Holden, Esq., of Milsted. Information to be given to P. C. Cripps, Lenham ; or to Mr. Superintendent Maloney, County Police, Maidstone, Kent.— Bow- street, August 14. & ARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded, 10t, h instant, from No. 13, Devonshire- terrace, Turnham Green, Chiswick, stealing a black monkey Jacket ; a paii- white cord Trousers; a black cloth Frock Coat; a pair black cloth Trousers ; a pair blucher Boots ; a calico Shirt; a lilac cotton Dress; and an old Shawl,— the property of Michael Casey. A man, 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 inehBs high, dark complexion and hair ; dress, white slop, cord trousers, blucher boots, dark cap.— Metropolitan Police, T Division, August 14. Description of FRED. WORSNOP, who absconded from Leeds on the 10th instant, charged with embezzling £ 20 and upwards, and for whose apprehension a warrant has been issued. 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, pale complexion, dark hair, no whiskers, except a slight tuft of hair on the chin, had a black eye a week ago, limps and throws out his left, leg when walking; dressed in a black billycock, red neckerchief, blue ribbed jacket, black plush veit, velvet ribbed trousers, and Wellington boots. It is known that he intends to go to America in a few days, so that he is likely to be found at some sea- port. After he absconded from the inn, he stole a pleasure boat, 14 feet long, with mast, sails, and oars, ' Orford Haven' had been painted on the stern outside, and subsequently painted over. Absconded from the borough of Walsall, on the 8th inst., a shoemaker, charged with stealing four pairs of new Boots, with spring sides. Further information respecting the mare Donkey supposed to have been stolen from Westleton- common, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 22nd instant. The donkey was taken from Carlton- green, near Saxmundham, East Suffolk, on the 22nd ultimo, by a travelling tinker, or donkey dealer, supposed to be the man that Cornish purchased the donkey of, and is of the following description : dark, small, short tail, in low condition, and has lately suokled a foal, which is taken off. Stolen on the 12th instant, between the hours of 4 and 6 a. m., from the house of Mrs Dixon, Bishop Auckland, a patent lever Watch, maker's name Johnson, Darlington, ' George Coates, Darlington, 1862," engraved on inner case; £ 12 in Gold, and Is. Gd. in Silver, which was in a small leather Bag; a black cloth Cap, the top formed of eight squares, and has a button in centre of crown ; and a silver- mounted briar- root, Pipe, in a small case ; the property of George Coates, a lodger. By a man who obtained lodgings at the house for the night, and is supposed to be a native of Yorkshire, is from 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion and hair, whiskers under chin, stout made; dressed in a black coat, dark trousers, round black hat, low cossack boots, crimped across the front. This man was traced from Bishop Auckland on the Barnard Castle road beyond. Staindrop, and it was ascertained that at a public house on the road, he took off his hat and put on a cap, supposed the stolen one, and was carry- ing a small bundle tied in a light- coloured handkerchief. Description of WALTER RICHARD CARSON AVI- SON, clerk, charged with stealing the sum of £ 200, at Leeds, about the 31st ultimo, the property of his employers, and for whose apprehension a warrant has been issued. He is 21 years of age, about 5 feet 10. inches high, thin pale face, spare form, erect and active, light brown hair, grey eyes, and has several decayed teeth in upper jaw. Stolen, on or about the 7th instant, from the church windows at Twyford, Berks, eight pieces of copper wire Lattice of the following dimensions : one piece about 8 feet long and 18 inches wide, two pieces about 7 feet long and 16 inches wide, three pieces about 5 feet long and 11 inches wide, two pieces about 6 feet long and 10 inches wide, all of them are pointed at one end and square at the other to fit the windows. About twenty popper Staples, upon which the lattice work was fastened, were torn out of the wall, and stolen at the same time. Absconded from Bradbourne, in the county of Derby, on the 7th instant, THOMAS YATES, a low- class horse dealer, who is charged with feloniously assaulting and ravishing Mrs. Elizabeth Trueman, of Bradbourne, on the 7th instant, at 9 p. m., as she was returning from Hognaston. He is 32 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, grey eyes, light brown hair, fresh complexion, full face, little or no whiskers, and stoutly built; usually dressed in dark- coloured fustian- sleeved waistcoat, cord trousers, strong lace- up boots, and black sammy hat; he has been for the last two years residing at Manchester and Stockport, and frequents fairs in that neighbourhood. He is 37 to 40 years of age, about 6 feet high, stoutly built, round shouldered, dark ruddy complexion, short thin dark hair ( turning grey), slight short whiskers, mark of an old cut on the upper lip under left nostril, good teeth, rather shuffling walk, and lias a hurried rough- and- ready manner; dressed in dark clothes, and carries a carpet bag. Description of two men against whom warrants have been issued at Mildenhall, in the county of Suffolk, charged with felony : CHARLES DOCKING, a native of Mildenhall, about 40 years Of age, about 5 feet ' J or 10 inches high, very stout, large fat face, very large reddish- brown whiskers meeting under the chin, a wart or wen about the size of a horse bean ( and which is always very red), on the cheek, supposed to be the right, very bushy dark brown hair, and hazel eyes generally wears a liigh- crowned black hat, loose alpaca cv< V, and dark waistcoat and trousers : he has held the office of county court bailiff for several years, has also practised as a barber and watch and clock cleaner, and is supposed to be in the neighbourhood of South Norwood, Surrey. Description of a man going about the country with a begging petition, stating that a Mrs. Watkins, of Waterstock, near Oxford, had lost ten milch cows by a disease called pleuro- pneumonia, and bearing the signatures of gentlemen in the neighbourhood, which are false. He is from 18 to 21 years of age, 5 feet 9 or ) 0 inches high, left nostril larger than right, lower lip larger than upper ; dressed in dark clothes, black low- crowned hat, wears an Albert gold chain, and of respectable appearance.
