All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and Ciy, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary ( the words Hue- and- Cry to bo written on the left hand corner of the Envelope). No Description can bo inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 1863. English Police. MURDER—£ 50 REWARD. DESCRIPTION of George Wright, wbo absconded about 7 p. m. on the 2nd instant, charged with the wil- ful murder of Emanuel Bates on that day, at Oldham, Lancashire, by striking him on the head with a blud- geon. He is a master cotton- spinner, respectably con- nected, 21 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, light complexion, light sandy hair, very slight ( scarcely perceptible) whiskers, of boyish but sullen appearance, hangs bis head forward when walking, and is rather round shouldered. Was dressed, when he absconded, in a brown or pepper- and- salt slop jacket, corduroy trowsers, and cloth cap: and was seen in the neigh- bourhood of Halifax on Thursday afternoon, the 4th instant, but it is supposed he will make for some sea- port, probably Queenstown, Belfast, or Galway. Notice is hereby given, that a reward of £ 50 will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person who shall give such information as shall lead to the appre- hension of the said George Wright. Information to be given to Mr. Watherell, Chief- Constable, Town Hall, Oldham, Lancashire. Town Hall, June 11th, 1863. Scottish Police. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public rot Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and cot of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Bartholomew Fitzgerald, a native of Ardroe, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 8th, or morning of the 9th June, 1863, in the barony of Corkaguiney, parish of Ballinvoher, stolen four heifers, the property of William Bowler, of Inch West, which he'fers are supposed to have been driven to and sold at the fair of Clobereen, near Kil- larney, on the 10th instant, with tho proceeds of which, it is believed, Fitzgerald will endeavour to escape to America. A warraot has been issued for his arrest:— 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, slight make, fair complexion, smooth face, gray eyes, slightly cocked nose, long fair hair, cropped round ; wore a black jerry hat, frieze frock coat, gray tweed trowsers, and black cloth vest. Description of the heifers. 1. Four years old, all red, crooked horns, with the points turned inwards. 2. Same description precisely as No. 1. 3. four years old, black, with white back and white forehead, and straight broad horns. 4. DESCRIPTION of two cows, the property of Patrick Behan, which were stolen from the lands of Moore- town, parish of Kildare, barony of East Offaly, on the night of the 9th, or morning of the 10th instant:— J. White, brown spotted, about 9 years old, in fair condition, curved horns, within a month of calving; value, £ 12. 2. White, brown or red spotted, about 6 years old, in fair condition, somewhat more cocked in the horns tban No. 1, within a month of calving; value about £ 12. DESCRIPTION of two cows, the property of John Bohen, stolen off the lands of Gubadorris, parish of Cloone, barony of Mohill, on tho night of the 8th, or morning of the 9th instant:— 1. Milch cow, yellow colour, cocked horns, with some crownish streaks on one of her shoulders, and on both her hind quarters, about 9 years old; in good condition ; value for about £ 9. 2. Milch cow, yellow colour, large horns, one in- clined upwards, with crownish streaks on her hinder part, about 9 years old ; in good condition ; value for about £ 7. Mohill, 13th June, 1863. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the night of the 17th instant, Mr. John Cussen was fired at and wounded at his residence at Ballyfokeen, in the barony of Connelloe, in the county of Limerick, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son who shall, within six months from the date here- of, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by R. J. Grace Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Bruff to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of John Healy and Patrick Ransford, natives of Cappanahinna, who stand charged with having, on the 6th day of June instant, in the barony of Clan- william, parish of Killeenagarriff, grievously assaulted Charles Connoll, of Newport, Tipperary, by striking him over the eye, at Rich- hill, in said county:— 1. 28 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, long face, very much freckled ; blue eyes, aquiline nose, fair hair, and thick under lip ; wore a felt hat, dark frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest. 2. 50 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight make, dark complexion, long face, gray eyes, aquiline nose, THE POLICE GAZETTE, Oft HUE- AND- CRY, JUNE 16, 1863. black hair; wore a felt bat, black frieze body coat, corduroy knee breeches, frieze vest; has a very slovenly gait. WHEBEAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persona who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by R. A. O'Donnell, Esq., Resident Magistrate at Long- ford. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown hair { wore a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; wore a jim crow hat. Will try to escape to America. James, 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight make, dark complexion, thin face, gray eyes, regular nose, black hair; wore a dark frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, dark tweed vest; wore an old dark cloth cap. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the morning of the 4th instant, John Andrew Jackson, Esq., J. P., was murdered in his own Demesne, at Mount Pleasant, in the barony of Upper Ormond, and county of Tipperary, by some person or persons at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by John Fleming, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Nenagh, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, February 24, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of age, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.) DESCRIPTION of Bridget Hayes, native of Mongally, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 30th May, 1863, in the barony of Decies- without- Drum, parish of Stradbally, and townland of Durrow, deserted her infant, by leaving it in a pig- house, where it was exposed to danger. This woman is from the neighbourhood of Clashmore. A warrant has beon issued for her arrest:— 23 years of age, 5 feot 3 inches high, stout make, full complexion, fair face, blue eyes, black hair; wore a blue cotton bonnet, black cape, a buff cotton jacket; and was barefooted. DESCRIPTION of a heifer and a bullock, the pro- perty of William Garty, which was stolen from the lands of Annaskanan, parish of Killucan, barony of Farbill, on the night of 8th, or morning < f the 9th in- stant :— 1. A yellow heifer, two years old, short horns, marked on the left horn with the letters W. G.; and value for £ S. 2. A yellow bullock, yews old, white spots on the head and neck, marked on the left horn with the letters W.
