All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and Cry, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary ( the words Hue- and- Cry to be written ou the left hand corner of the Envelope). No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, JUNE 9, 1863. WHEREAS, on the night of the 1st instant, about 9 o'clock, as Robert Cain, Labourer, was returning home through a plantation in Prospect Demesne, Barony of Upper Dunluce, County Antrim, he was attacked and seriously assaulted, by two persons at present unknown. I hereby offer a reward of £ 20 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of both or either of said persons. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 6 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. R., who stands charged with having, on the morning of tho 1st of June, 1863, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Clonfert, and townland of Glennakeel, stolen two cows, the property of Michael Murphy:— 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, long black hair, no whiskers, long visage, slight make, knock- kneed, and having a simple countrylike appear- ance ; dressed in a brown frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, and jerry haf. A warrant for his apprehen- sion is in the hands of the Constabulary at Boherline. The cows have been recovered. Kanturk, 5th June, 1863. ( B. 21188— 18056.) DESCRIPTION of Anthony Burke, native of Tuam, who stands charged with having, on the 5th day of Juue, 1863, in the barony of Clare, parish of Tuam, in his possession eight £ 1 notes, Bank of Douglas and Isle of Man, seven sovereigns and eight shillings in sil- ver, also a black oak cross of the crucifixion, set iu brass, five inchos long, about a yard of narrow white silk ribbon attached, for which he could not satisfac- torily account:— 20 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight make, fair complexion, fair face, gray eyes, regular nose, fair hair; wore a dark brown tweed coat, dark brown tweed trowsers, dark brown tweed vest, and light coloured cap. Left Tuam about eight weeks ago for Manchester. Is rather good looking, and of smart appearance. Tuam, 6th June, 1863. ( B. 20093— 10567.) Margaret Skehill and Edward M'Tigue ( cattle stealers) not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 19th May, 1863. Kerry. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Carthy, or Neille, native of Glenbeigh, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd day of June, at Kilmoily, in the barony of Clan- maurice, parish of Kilmoily, stolen a sum of £ 35, from tho house of William Quane, in whose employment she lived as a servant:— 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, ruddy complexion, round face", gray eyes, long nose and cocked, dark, nearly black hair; wore an old browyi stuff gown, black stuff petticoat, no cloak. This woman's upper teeth project over the lower, her lips are generally of a blue or livid colour, and the under- lip thick. The Head Constable at Tralee, holds a warrant for her arrest. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Feeny, native of Roscrea, county Tipperary, and Patrick Hickey, native of Gor- teen, county Tipperary, who stand charged with hav- ing, on the 5th instant, in the barony of Clonlisk, parish of Kilcomin, stolen eight heifers, the property of Michael Kelly, of Glasshouse, three of which hoifers have been since recovered. See Hue- and- Cry, 12th and 29th ultimo :— 1. 45 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, slight make, sallow complexion, thin face, grey eyes, long nose, black hair; wore a grey frieze frock coat, slate cord trowsers, black cloth vest. U%< very small whisk- ers ; anff is supposed to have gone to Liverpool. 2. 40 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, round face, brown eyes, regular nose, light brown hair; wore a dark frieze frock coat, dark cord trowsers, dark cloth vest. Has small sandy whiskers, and a good set of teeth ; and is supposed to have gone to Liverpool. Shinrone, 2nd June, 1863. ( B. 20659— 9115.) Leitrim. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the night of the 17th instant, Mr. John Cussen was fired at and wounded at his residence at Ballyfokeen, in the barony of Connelloe, in the county of Limerick, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son who shall, within six months from the date here- of, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person who committed the same. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been THE POLICE GAZETTE, OR HUE- AND- CRY, JUNE 9, V arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person oi persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, Thos. A. LArCOm. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by R. A. O'Donnell, Esq., Resident Magistrate at Long- ford. G. L, Hornick and others. The Longford Police hold a warrant for Duffy's arrest:— 33 years of ego, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout make, yellow complexion, black hair. WhereAs Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th cf July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. Ilis Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months froiji the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, Thos. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, largo heavy face, dark eyes, rather loflj? no3c, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body cont, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait wfcen walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws ; find gltog remarkablo and an ill- looking man.] ' He may prob' assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustactio, teeth, and black coat, & c.; Cappamore, 3rd August, 18G2.
