No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall .„, e been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 8, e. 140, a. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, FRIDAY, MAY 29, 1863. English Police. £ 5 REWARD. STOLEN last night, 14th instant, between tho hours of seven and nine o'clock, from an officer's room at the School of Musketry, Fleetwood, a gold Geneva hunt- ing watch, engine- turned, by Lecomte, Geneva, No. 6790, with gold chain ( cable pattern) ; and two lockets attached, one locket being oval, the other in form of a sailor's hat, with a compass on one side, and the word Britannia round the outside. One horse- shoe pin, set with lapis lazuli and dia- monds. One oval Mosaic pin. One gilt Indian coin pin. One pin, with chain attached, and a key, with ini- tials F. H., and at the end is a charm in the form of a mummy. Nine shillings and sixpence in money. Pawnbrokers and jewellers are requested to detain any person offering the same for pledge or sale; and the above reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehension and con- viction of the thief or thieves, and recovery of the watch, & c., on application to Mr. Superintendent Leary, Constabulary Office, Kirkham; or the Sergeant of Police, Fleetwood. Police Station, Fleetwood, May 15th, 1863. CHILD STEALING.—£ 100 REWARD. WHEREAS on the evening of Sunday, 30th March, 1862, Elizabeth Hunter, eight years old, was decoyed away by a respectably dressed man, from the bottom of Greenman's- lane, Frog- lane, Lower road, Islington, and not having been heard of up to the present time, May 7, 1863, Her Majesty's Government hereby offer a reward of JT' 50 for the discovery and conviction of the person or persons who decoyed away the said Eliza- beth Hunter; and Sir George Grey, Her Majesty's Secretary of State, will advise the grant of Her Ma- jesty's pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually stole the child in question, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to the conviction of tbe offender. And whoever will give such information as will lead to the recovery of the child and conviction of the offender to J. B. Talbot, Secretary to the London Society for the protection of Young Females, 28, New Broad- street, City, shall receive a further reward of £ 50. Elizabeth Hunter is of pale complexion, has light hair and eyes, and a large scar on one of her cheeks ; and had a pair of gold wires in her ears. Scottish Police. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1863, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Collins, native of county Cork,' who stands charged with having, on the evening of 24th May, in the barony of East Division East Carberv, parish of Ballymoney, feloniously assaulted Mary Ryan:— 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, round face, blue eyes, cocked nose, brown hair; wore a jerry hat, blue frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, brown vest. DESCRIPTION of John O'Donnell, native of Glen- conwell, who stands charged with having, on the 1st day of February last, in the barony of Banagh, parish of Lower Killybegs, killed Hannah M'Nelis, his mother- in- law, with some sharp instrument:— 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slender make, fair com- plexion, thin face, gray eyes," small nose, short dark brown hair; wore a blue frock coat, blue trowsers, blue vest, blue cloth cap ; he is of a drowsy, innocent appearance, and when spoken to does not look you full in the face, but looks at you sideways. DESCRIPTION of Michael Slattery, native of Cloon- nagart, who stands charged with having, on the 21st instant, at Cloonnagart, in the barony of Longford, parish of Tynagh, stolen a lilac- coloured cotton purse, having several small pieces of the same material sewn on it, containing 20 sovereigns, the property of his uncle, Patrick Brien:— 18 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight make, sallow complexion, full face, gray eyes, dark brown hair; wore a cap, dark frieze coat, gray tweed trowsers, gray tweed vest. It is supposed he will endeavour to emigrate. Portumna, 22nd May, 1863. ( B. 21311— 7442.) DESCRIPTION of three sheep and a lamb, the pro- perty of Francis Lyons, whiech were stolen from the lands of Sragh, parish of Ballinakill, and barony of Leitrim, on night of 18th, or morning of 19th May, 1863, viz.:— 1. Breeding ewe, 3 years old, and a lamb attached to same, 2 months old ; value together for £ 2 10s. 2. Two one- year- old ewe hoggets; value together for £ 4. Mountshannon, May 27, 1863. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross; charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. Tho above reward will be paid, on conviction, by R. A. O'Donnell, Esq., Resident Magistrate at Long- ford. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown hair; woro a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vost; woro a jim crow hat. Will try to escape to America. James, 25 years of ago, 5 foot 8 inches high, slight make, dark complexion, thin face, gray eyes, regular nose, black hair ; wore a ' dark frieze frock coat, cord trowscrs, dark twood vest; woro an old dark cloth cap. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 80th of July, 1863, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person'or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayos:— 60 years of ago, 6 feot high, stout raako, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knoe breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; vory heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of tbe head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.)
