English Police. £ 5 REWARD. STOLEN last night, 14th instant, between tho hours of seven and nine o'clock, from an officer's room at the School of Musketry, Fleetwood, a gold Geneva bunt- ing watch, engine- turned, by Lecom'te, Geneva, No. 6790, with gold chain ( cable pattern) ; and two lockets attached, one locket being oval, the other in form of a sailor's hat, with u compass on one side, and the word Britannia round tho outside. One horse- shoe pin, set with lapis lazuli and dia- monds. Ooe oval Mosaic pin. One gilt Indian coin pin. One pin, with chain attached, and a key, with ini tials F. H., and at tho end is a charm in the form of a mummy. Nine shillings and sixpence in money. Pawnbrokers and jewellers are requested to detain any person offering the same for pledge or sale; and the above reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehension and con- viction of the thief or thieves, and recovery of the watch, & c., on application to Mr, Superintendent Leary, Constabulary office, Kirkham; or the Ser^ > uct ot Police, Fleetwood. Police Station, Fleetwood, May 15th, 1863. CHILD STEALING.—£ 100 REWARD. WHEREAS on the evening of Sunday, 30th March, 1862, Elizabeth Hunter, eight years old, was decoyed away by a respectably dressed man, from the bottom of Greenman's- lane, Frog- lane, Lower road, Islington, and not having been heard of up to the present time, May 7, 1863, Her Majesty's Government hereby offer a reward of £ 50 for the discovery and conviction ot the person or persons who decoyed away the said Eliza- beth Hunter; and Sir George Grey, Her Majesty's Secretary of State, will advise the grant of Her Ma- jesty's pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually stole the child in question, who shall " give such evidence as shall lead to the conviction of tbe offender. And whoever will give such information as will lead to tbe recovery of the child and conviction of tbe offender to J. B. Talbot, Secretary to the London Society for the protection of Young Females, 28, New Broad- street, City, shall receive a further reward of £ 50. Elizabeth Hunter is of pale complexion, has light hair and eyes, and a large scar on one of her cheeks ; and had a pair of gold wires in her ears. Scottish Police. DESCRIPTION of a cow, tbe property of Francis M'Kiernan, of Coolbane, parish of Ballintemple, and barony of Clonmahon, which was stolen from out of his field on the night of the 19th, or morning of the 20ih May, 1863:— White and dark brown colour, with a white star on her forehead, cocked horns, is of rather a small breed ; is in good condition, as; ed 7 years; and value for £ 8. DUBLIN CASTLE, December 13, 1862. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of eight sheep, the property of Mrs. O'Brien, and two sheep, the property of Michael Waters, which were stolen from the lands of Glan- colmkill, parish of Carron, barony of Burren, on the night ot the 7th May, 1863 :— Eight two- year- old wethers, marked on the right side with the letters O'B. DESCRIPTION of Jeremiah Buckly, a native of Rath- cool, who stands charged with having, on the 6th May, 1863, in the barony of West Muskerry, parish of Kilcorny. attempted to violate the person of Julia Donovan, of Rathcool:— 20 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight make, fresh complexion, thin face; wore a cloth cap, gray tweed coat, gray tweed trow- sers, gray tweed vest; is pockpitted; and rather smart appearance. DESCRIPTION of a cow, the property of John Gilroy, which was stolen out of his cow- house on the lands of Killyrover, parish of Aghalurcher, barony of Maghera- stephans, on the night of 18th, or morning of 19th day of May, 1863, viz.:— Seven years old, dark brown, with large white spots ; tbe mouth and tops of horns black; a large wart on the near fore teat, low sized, calved about 1st of April last, and has a good show of milk ; is value for £ 8. Supposed to have been sold at last fair of Sixmilecross, county Tyrone. The Con- stabulary at Clogher are requested to keep a sharp look- out for the cow. Lisnaskea, 23rd May, 1863. P., which were stolen or strayed from the lands of Peak, parish of Monivea, barony of Tiaquin, between the 10th and 12th days of May instant, viz.: — 1. Two- years- old, red colour, with a small white spot on the right hip, and branded on the right horn with the letters J. K.; value for £ 7. 2. Three- years- old, speckled red and white, branded on the right horns with the letters J. DUBLIN CASTLE, February 21,1863. whEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the niglit of the 17tli instant, Mr. John Cussen was fired at and wounded at his residence at Ballyfokeen, in the barony of Connelloe, in the county of Limerick, by some person at present u'rrenown. His Excellency, for 1, he better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son who shall, within six months from the date here- of, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person who committed the same. . . Grace Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Bruff to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of a cow, the property of Mary Duhigg, which was stolen from her cow- house on the lands of Kilmihil, parish of Ballingaddy, barony of Coshiea, on tho night of 20th May instant:— A red stripper cow, small size, a white star on the forehead, horns nearly straight, white stripe on back, a cut on her right leg, haviog been tied with a chain ; 7 years old; is in good condition, und value for £ 5. kilfinane, 22nd May, 1863. DESCRIPTION of cloth, stolen from the shop of Mr. John O'Sullivan, at Abbeyfeale, tu tho barony of Glenquin, parish and townland of Abbeyfeale, on the morning of the 11th instant:— 26 yards black cloth, yards wide, at 9s. per yard ; 12 yards blue cloth, yards wide, at 10s. per yard; 3 yards blue pilot cloth, yards wido, at 8s. 6d. per yard. Peter O'Connell, parish priast, which was stolen from the lands of Ballyduff, parish of Killoe, barony of Granard, on the night of the 21st instant:— A large stripper, seven or eight years old, all white, giving some milk, middling sized, horns inclined inwards, one of them more drooped than the other; and value for £ 11 10s. The owner will give a reward ot £ 5 for the recovery of the cow, and prosecution of the thief to conviction. Granard, 23rd May, 1863. A new- milch cow, red colour, with a little wLite, thick largo body, very short legs, and cocked horns ; about eleven years old, and value for £ 9. 2. A stripper cow, of a pale red and white colour, smaller than No. 1, the outer shell of both horns peeled off, and value for £ 7; six years old. Abbeyleix, 23rd May, 1863. X WHEREAS information has readied the Government that, Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, nftar Malkagb, in the barony of Longford, and county of LongforcJ, on the 2uth April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and conccaled, and assisted and aided in sever^ parts, of the country since the said murder: Now, iiis. Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is yjeascd to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person* oi persona who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any ono whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- qpalcd, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. „ The above reward wUl bo paid, on conviction, by R. A. O'Donnell, Esq., Resident Magistrate at Long- ford. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— ( Patrick, 35 years of ago, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown hair; wore a gray frieze the greater part of the property stolen from the dwelling of Loughlen Keenan, described in the Hue- and- Cry of the loth instant, has been found in the pos- session of Margaret Doolan, who has been arrested. roscommon. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest; ; His Excellency the lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any perscn or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six mpntli£ from t^ e date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, tho said Michael Hayes in his escape lrom arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. • The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; Stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; end altogether a remarkablo and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, lg62. ( B. 10071— 10283.) DESCRIPTION of cattle, stolen out of . the out house of John Fitzgerald, pound keeper, at Knockanore, parish of Kilcockin, and barony of Coshmore and Coshbride, on tho night of tho 21st instant, viz.:— 1. A black cow, with whito spots, largo horns, a stripper, in good condition, large size, fourteen years old ; and value for £ 5. 2. A red heifer, two years old, short horns ; in good condition, and value for ahout £ 7. Cappoquin, 24th May, 1863. DESCRIPTION of John Murphy, native of Ballin- gown, who stands chargcd with having, on tho 14th day of May, at Ballingown, in the barony, of Decies- within- Drum, parish of Aglish, attempted to violate the person of Eliza Ryan :— 20 years of age, 5 feot 9 iucL^ s high, slight make, fresh complexion, foic hai., grey eyes ; wore a cap, brown frock coat, cord trow- sers, tweed vest. DESCRIPTION of four heifers, tho property of Bryan Spollen, which was stolen from the lands ot Irishtown, in tho parish of Rathconrath, and barony of Rathcon- rath, on the night of 20th instant, viz.:— 1. Two yeats old, black colour, a whito stripe on tho back, spreading on the rump, a whito spot on the face, horns straight out; valuo about £ 8. 2. Two years old, dark yellow colour, well set horns; value about £ 9. 3. Two years old, yellow colour, a wbito strijo along the back, a small white spot on tho face, very short horus ; valuo about £ 8 10s. 4. Two years old, speckled blue and white, cockcd horns, hind legs rather crooked, and appoars as if Lav- ing a string halt when walking; value about £ S. Ballinacarrig, 22nd May, 1803. Deserters from Her Majesty's Service, [ Ireland.] On and after this date ( Dec. 11,1857), until further notice, the Reward given by the War Office for the Apprehension of a Deserter will be TWENTY SHILLINGS instead of TEN SHILLINGS; the object being to prevent the crime of Desertion, and to hold out a greater inducement for the recovery of Deserters to Her Majesty's Service. ] Nome and Reg.
