All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and Cry, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary ( the words Hue- and- Cry to be written on the left hand corner of the Envelope). No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Information to the Inspector- General. Ab the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, e. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue and- Cry. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, MAY 19, 1863. English Police. £ 5 REWARD. STOLEN last night, 14th instant, between tho hours of seven and nine o'clock, from an officer's room at the School of Musketry, Fleetwood, a gold Geneva hupt- ing watch, engine- turned, by Lecomte, Geneva, No. 6790, with gold chain ( cable pattern) ; and two lockets attached, one locket being oval, tho other in form of a sailor's hat, with a compass on one side, and the word Britannia round the outside. Ono horse- shoe pin, set with lapis lazuli acd dia- monds. One oval Mosaic pin. One gilt Indian coin pin. One pin, with chain attached, and a key, with ini- tials F. H., and at the end is a charm in the form of a mummy. Nine shillings and sixpence in money. Pawnbrokers and jewellers are requested to detain any person offering the same for pledge or sale; and the al> ove reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehension and con- viction of the thief or thieves, and recovery of the watch, & c., on application to Mr. Superintendent Leary, Constabulary Office, Kirkham; or the Sergeant of Police, Fleetwood. Polico Station, Fleetwood, May 15tb, 1863. CHILD STEALING.—£ 100 REWARD. WHEREAS on the evening of Sunday, 30ih March, 1862, Elizabeth Hunter, eight years old, was decoyed away by a respectably dressed man, from the bottom of Greeninan's- lane, Frog- lane, Lower- road, Islington, and not having been heard of up to the present time, May 7, 1863, Her Majesty's Government hereby offer a reward of £ 50 for the discovery and conviction of the person or persons who decoyed away the said Eliza- beth Hunter; and Sir George Grey, Her Majesty's Secretary of Stale, will advise the grant of Her Ma- jesty's pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually^ stole the child in question, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to the conviction of the offender. And whoever will give such information as will load to the recovery of the child and conviction of the offender to J. B. Talbot, Secretary to the London Society for the protection of Young Females, 28, New Broad- street, City, shall receive a further reward of £ 50. Elizabeth Hunter is of pale complexion, has light hair and eyes, and a large scar on one of her checks ; and bad a pair of gold wires in her ears. Scottish Police. DESCRIPTION of the undermentioned convict, whose ticket- of- licence has been revoked:— William M'Mul- len, about 46 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout make, gray hair, light hazel eyes, regular nose, mouth a little large, long visage, and swarthy complexion ; is a labourer; born at New Mills, county Antrim; and has friends residing at Carrickfergus. Was convicted at Belfast of sheep stealing on 30th July, 1859, and sentenced to four years' penal servitude. Information to Superintendent Daniel Ryan, Lower Castle- yard, Dublin, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. 16th May, 1863. DUBLIN CASTLE, December 13, 1862. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 6 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. One, 4- years- old, yellow colour, with white streak on forehead ; value for £ 6. One, 4- years- old, speckled black and white; value for £ 6. DESCRIPTION of Higgins and three other per- sons unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 29th April, 1863, in tho barony of Connell, parish of Old Connell, waylaid John Buttes, on tho public road at Little Connell, robbed him of tho sum of 10s. 8d., beat him severely, and threatened his life: 1. 30 years of age ; wants two front teeth, and has the mark of a cut on the lower part of his chin. Was armed with a pistol. 2. 28 years of age, soft complexion ; wore a jacket, turned inside out; armed with a stick. 3. 28 years of ago, 5 feet 8 inches high, pale com- plexion, light hair; wore a long dark coat. 4. 5 feet 5 inches high. Leitrim, DESCRIPTION of a cow, the property of Francis Blake, which was stolen from tbe lands of Kiltyfan- non, parish of Feenagh, and barony of Mohill, on the night of the 13th of May, 1803 ; and for recovery of which, or prosecution of the thief, Blake will give a reward of £ 3 :— Yellow cow, with white star on fore- head, and short thick horns, a stripper, in good condi tion, 3 years old, and value lor about £ 10. Limerick. DUBLIN CASTLE, February 21,1863. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the night of the 17th instant, Mr. John Cussen was fired at and wounded at his residence at Ballyfokeen, in the barony of Connelloe, in the county of Limerick, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son who shall, within six months from the date here- of, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by R. J. Grace Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Bruff to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of cloth, stolen from the shop of Mr. John O'Sullivan, at Abbeyfeale, in the barony of Glenquin, parish and townland of Abbeyfeale, on the morning ot the 11th inst., viz.:— 26 yards of black cloth, valued at 27s. per yard, yards in width ; 15- J yards of black cloth, valued at 9s. per yard; 12^ yards of black cloth, valued at 12s. 7d. per yard, yards in width ; 12 yards of blue cloth, valued at 7s. 6d. per yard. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown hair; wore a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; wore a jim crow hat. Will try to escape to America. James, 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight make, dark complexion, thin face, gray eyes, regular nose, black hair ; wore a dark frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, daik tweed vest; wore an old dark cloth cap. DESCRIPTION of Michael Sullivan, native of Augha- kilmore, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of May, 1863, at Aughakilmore, in the barony of Granard, parish of Columbkill, stabbed John Blessen- ton :— 45 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches higb, stout make, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; old scar on upper lip; full face, and pockmarked; bare- headed ; wore a long dark frieze frock coat, hip pockets, old dark cloth trowsers, old dark cloth vost. DESCRIPTION of Michael Blessenton, native of Aughakilmore, who stands charged with having, on the 7th instant, in tbe barony of Granard, parish of Abbeylara, stolen 3 yearling calves, the property of William Armstrong, which he sold at the fair of Col- linstown, on 8th instant:— 18 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, round face, brown eyes, regular noso, brown hair; wore a frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, dark vest. DESCRIPTION^ a cow, tbe property of John Tyr- rell, of Lyneen, which was stolon out of his byre, parish of Killashee, barony of Moydoo, and townland of Lyneen, on the night of the 12th of May; 1863, by some person or persons at present unknown :— Eight years old, yellow colour, straight horns, a little cocked ; a split in the right ear, a good size, in good condition, about five months with calf; and value for about £ 10. DESCRIPTION of two heifers, the property of Lau- rence Noonan, which were stolen from the lands of Agbafin, parish of Mostrim, and barony of Ardagh, on the night of the 12th instant:— 1. Two years old, spotted all over with pale red and white, white face, strong iirns, low sized ; in good conditioa. , 2. Two years old, red sides, with white stripe across the kidneys, tbe top of one ot the horns broken off about an inch ; good condition. Description of Patrick Coyle, native of Longford, who stands charged ( and is at present in LoDgtord Gaol), with having stolen the above, and sold them in the fair ot Multyfnrnham, on 13th, to a farmer, sup- posed from Meath or Westmeatb, who paid him £ 11 10s., viz., a £. 5 Ulster Banking Company, endorsod " James Fagan," and two £ 3 Bank of Ireland, endorsed " Michael Dillon" :— 18 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, lair complexion, dark brown hair, long face, . bro. vn eyts; wore an old cloth cap, dark frieze coat, cord trowsers, a whitish patched tweed vest, and laced shoes. DUBLIN CASTLE, December 30, 1862. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagli, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleasod to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in Sheir escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and fames Ross. DESCRIPTION of Daniel Barber and Patrick Maher, natives of Donoughmore, who stand charged with having, on the 9th instant, in the barony of Clandonagh, palish of Rathdowney, assaulted Gavin Russell, officer of Inland Revenue, in the execution of his duty:— 1. 35 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches higb, stout make, dark complexion; wore a black jerry hat or black cloth cap, dark frock coat, cord trowsers. 2. 22 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches higb, stout make, fair complexion ; wore a black jerry hat, brown frock coat. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hit' erto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the' arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby td offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons wfad shall, within six months frpm the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of an£ one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, ot assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, tlife Said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's coifimand, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 feet high, stout mate, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather lon> nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, ROraewhat gray t bald on the crown of the head, with a few strav hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may nrobably assume a disguise, such as a Wig, mousfache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.) DESCRIPTION of a man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on tbe 1st instant, in the barony ol Lower Ormond, parish of Nenagh, passed a note of trie Bank of Ireland on Theobald Pepper, esq., Lissem'ska, in this Riding, which note was changed from a one pound note to a fLe pound note :— 40 years of age, 5 teet 11 inches high, stout make, dark complexion; wore a jerry hat, loose coat, dark trowsers. Has large whiskers. Speaks in the northern accent; and is smart and intelligent in his manner. Was last seen on a car going in the direction of Ballymackey. Nenagh, 7 th May, 1863.
