8 RETURNS RELATING TO COUNTY SURVEYORS ( lRELANL>). COUNTY OF DOWN— continued. STATEMENT of the COUNTY SURVEYORS and ASSISTANTS whose SALARIES have been advanced by GRAND JURIES, pursuant to the Act 24 & 25 Vict., and the Amount so advanced in each County. IN compliance with the memorial of the County Down Grand Jury, assembled at the Summer Assizes, 1862, his Excellency the Lord Lieutenant exercised the powers vested in him by the 6 & 7 Will. 4, c. 116, and appointed Bernard B. Murray a second Surveyor, at an annual salary of 3001. The salary of' the present County Surveyor, Henry Smyth, to continue as now fixed. Pursuant to the provisions of the above Act, the Grand Jury assembled at Spring Assizes, 1863, advanced the salaries of the Assistant Surveyors, as follows:— James Fraser, John Thompson, Thomas Nolan, Robert Cochran, James O'Flinn, Cornelius Kearney, John Gordon - - - - - £. 80 Henry Chappell, E. J. Stevenson - - - - - - - -£. 75 James Mitchell £. 70 County or Assistant Surveyors not prohibited from engaging in private practice. 4 April 1863. R. Gordon, Secretary. COUNTY OF DUBLIN. Names of District Surveyors. Assistants. Salaries of Surveyors. £. S. d. James Bell, junior - . - - 300 - - Richard A. Gray - None - 350 - - R. H. Frith - - 350 - - SALARIES, Lowest and Highest, for Seven Years previous to the Act 24 & 25 Yict. c. 43. 186 1. Lowest. Highest. £. s. d. £. s. d. Richard A. Gray - - 250 - - 300 - - Alexander Tate - 250 - - 350 - - R. H. Frith - - 300 - - 350 - - Salaries advanced by the Grand Jury pursuant to the Act 24 & 25 Vict. c. 43 - None.
