RETURN showing the Names of the COUNTY SURVEYORS of the County of Donegal, and their ASSISTANTS, with their respective SALARIES, for the Seven Years previous to the Act of 24 & 25 Yict. c. 43. County Surveyor of the North District:— John Fraser, Esq. ; yearly salary, 300 /., and for clerk and expense of office, 50/. County Surveyor of the South District:— William Harte, Esq. ; yearly salary, 300/., and for clerk and expense of office, 50/. Assistant Surveyors for the North District:— Thomas Brady - Yearly salary - - - £. 50 William Doherty - Like 50 Dougal White - Like 50 Samuel Taylor - - - - Like 50 Edward M'Neelage - - - Like 50 Assistant Surveyors for the South District :— James Hone ----- Yearly salary - - - £. 50 Hugh Maguire - - - - Like - - - - 50 Frederick P. Judge - Like 50 Francis Callaghan - - - - Like 50 The salaries of the County Surveyors have not been increased or altered since the pass- ing of the above Act. The salaries of the Assistant Surveyors were at Summer Assizes, 1862, increased to the yearly sum of 80/. each. The County purveyors are not prohibited from engaging in private practice; but the Grand Jury, on raising the salaries of the Assistants, intimated to them that they would expect that they should devote their whole time to the public duties of their office, although no specific order to that effect was made.
