Aa the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, e. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 1863. Scottish Police. STOLEN from premises in this city, on the 24th March, 1863, a chased silver sugar bowl, with tbe letters D. H. C. H. stamped on tbe bottom, and a parcel of 16 tilled long shawls or plaids, with black centres, best quality, by Charles Metz, who occupied the premises, and received tho above property as an agent lor a London Parcel Delivery Company, and who was last seen in Edinburgh on the 30th ult. He is by trade a dyer, is about 34 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches in height, sallow complexion, roman nose, dark brown eyes, and black hair, is by birth a German, but has not a foreign accent, having been brought up in Manchester, where he resided lor several years; was dressed in a blue cloth short coat, light trowsers and vest, and black bat. Police Officers and others are requested to make particular search for the above property and person, and if any of the articles are traced, or he is appre- hended, to communicate with tiie Procurator- Fiscal, City Chambers, Edinburgh. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of B o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons wh » com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Wilson Heley, native of county Meath, or Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the llth instant, in the barony of Fermoy, parish of Mallow, embezzled the sum of £ 30, the property of the Great Southern and Western Railway Com- pany :— 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight make, fair complexion, thin face, freckled, blue eyes, regular no « e, sandy hair; wore a black silk bat, black cloth bag coat, light trowsers, light vest; respectable appearance and good address ; was last seen on the 13tb instant, in the city of Dublin. A warrant is in the bands of the Constabulary at Mallow, for his arrest. Mallow, 15th April, 1863. ( B. 19630— 17781.) DESCRIPTION of Daniel Coleman, native of Mitchels- town, who stands charged with having, on or about the 7th of March, 1863, in tho barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Fermoy, feloniously stolen a gray mare donkey, car, and tackling, together with a quantity of wearing apparel, & c., the property of John Halloran, a dealing man ; all value for about £ 4 10s.: — 40 years of age, 5 feet 7- J inches high, slender make, yellow complexion, full face, dark eyes, regular nose, black hair; wore a jerry hat, dark brown coat, white moleskin trowsers, light cord vest. This man generally visits fairs and races in tbe capacity of a gambler, and is strongly suspected of being a coiner, particularly in making shillings and sixpenny pieces of old date. Description ot the property:— A gray mare donkey, a car and tackling, two cotton dresses, one of them a plaid, one pair of laced boots, a white moleskin trowsers, and corduroy trowsers, five flannel quilts, a pair of blankets, three sheets, a sort of billiard table, and stand for same. Fermoy, 15th April, 1863. ( B. 19677— 17776.) DESCRIPTION of five sheep, the property of Edward Barrett, which were stolen from tbe lands of Ballyphe- hane, parish of St. Finbars, and barony of Cork, on the night of the 14th April, 1863, viz.:— Five yearling sheep, white colour; three of them in young; the other two bad long toils, nearly to the ground. DESCRIPTION of a cow, tbe property of William Stack, which was stolen from the lands of Ratouragh, parish of Skull, barony ot West Division of West Car- bery, on the night of the 13th instant:— Red colour, with a little inclination to yellow; white streak along tbe back and belly, drooping horns, inclining inwards; tbe right front teat very large; the opposite teat small; value for about £ 5 ; she is to calve about the 20th of May. DESCRIPTION of two cow-,, the property of William M'Cawley, of Drumakin, which were stolen from the public pound in Tempo, parish of Enniskillen, barony of Tyrkennedy, on tbe night of 14th April instant, where they had been placed by Thomas Ferriss, of Drumakin, who had seized them for rent: 1. An aged cow, after calving, yellow, with white back, a Jump on the left hind foot, top broken off right horn ; value for £ 3 10s. 2. Five years old, yellow, with some white spots on the flanks; will calve about 1st May; cocked horns ; value for £ 5 10s. Enniskillen, 17th April, 1863. ( B. 18721— 5873.) DESCRIPTION of William Fitzgibbon, alias Eager, native of Milltown, who stands charged with having, on the 15th April instant, at Milltown, in the barony of Trughenackmy, parish of Kilcolman, stolen a dark pony ( mare), which has since been recovered:— 18 years ofage, 4 feet inches high, slight make, sallow complexion, rouud face, blue e^ es, regular nose, fair hair; wore an old black cloth coat, old black trowsers, black vest; wore bis hair unusually long'; smart address and appear- ance. DESCRIPTION of a sheep, the property of Patrick Darby, of Kilcullen, which was stolen from off his land at Kilcullen, parish of Kilcullen, and barony of Kilcullen, on ttie night of the 18th, or morning of the J9th April, 1803 :— A white wether, about three years old, unshorn; in good condition, branded with the letters P. DESCRIPTION of James Hennessy, native of Kil- kenny, who stands charged with having, on the 30th January, and 17th March last, in tho barony of Gow- ran, parish of Threadingstown, also in the city of Kil- kenny, obtained money under false pretences, and with having embezzled ccrtain letters tbo property of the Postmaster General:— 21 years of age, 5 feet 7^ inches high, slight mske, fresh complexion, thin face, blue eyes, regular noso, light hair ; woro a dark frock coat, dark trowsers, brown vest; walks with a long sling step, light giddy gait. WHSBEAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that on the night of the 17th instant, Mr. John Cussen was fired at and wounded at his residence at Ballyfokeen, in the barony of Connelloe, in the county of Limerick, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son - who shall, within six months from the date here- of,. give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person who committed the same. WHEREAS information has reached the Government tliat Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrestM, hiive been concealed, and are harboured, t' 6! c6ived, arid concealed, and assisted and aided in sevem parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is hlfehstd ip offer a i- eward of £ 100 to any person or p6teoii3 who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of hny one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- itealecl, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape fr6m arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. DESCRIPTION of John Kennedy, alias Johnston, nativo of Meath, near Navan, who stands charged with having, on the nigbt of the 9th instant, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Monaghan, stolen a mare, the property of Jane Gillanders, out of her slable on the lands of Ballymacforban, in the district of Monaghan : 45 years of ago, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout make, dark complexion, regular faco, gray eyes, regular nose, dark hair; woro a dark coarse frock coat, dark cord trow- sers, brown vest. Had oh blucher boots, round jira- crow hat ; spoalcs broad; has lately been lb Monaghan Gaol for fowl stealing. Is lame of right leg. A war- rant is in the hands of the police at Monaghan for his arrest. Description of tho ware. A light bay mare, rising six years old, near hind foot white, a whito saddle mark on off side of her back, about fifteen hands high, coarse head, very heavy make; both shoulders marked by the harness, and value for about £ 10. DUBLIN CASTLE, February 24, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the SOtli of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or pot- sons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of age, 6 foet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather, long noso, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, carolino bat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy oyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of tbe head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws ; nnd altogethor a remarkable and an ill- looking man. Ho may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, falso teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1802. ( 6. 10071— 10283.) DESCRIPTION of Michael ryan, native of Kilconnel, w, ho stands charged with having, on th? 29th dpy pf March, 1863, in the barony of Middlethird, parish . of st. john Baptist, effected his escape from the bridewell at Cashel, having been committed for cow stealing: — 27 years of age, 5 feet 6£ inches high, stout make, pale but clear complexion, fresh face, brown oyes, regular nose, rather turned up at point; dart brown hair; woro an old black jorry hat, a railway cord jacket, cord trowsers, flannel vest; good forehead ; flat, remark- able feet; very round shoulders; when viewed from behind, bis neck appears short; smart- looking and intel- ligent; served four years in the Tipperary Artillery; will probably change his clothes, apd will endeavour to emigrate to America. The Hon. Mr. French, R. M, will give £ 10 for such information as will load to his cashel, 29th March, 1863. ( B. 181^— 11355.^ Tyrone. DESCRIPTION of Bridget Byrne, native of county Kildare, who stands charged with having, on the night of 15tb, or morning of tho 16th instant, in tho berony of Talbotstown Upper, parish of Kiltegsn, stolen from tho house of Catherine Doylo ( from whom she obtained lodging"), a blue cloth cloak, valuo for 5s.; about ^ stono of oatmeal, and a penny worth of sugar,, tho pro- perty of said Catherine Doyle :— 40 years of age, 4 feet 10 inches high, stout make, daik complexion, round faco, gray eyes, vulgar nose, browu or gray hair; woro an old white patched jacket, an old black petti- coat, patched with black at bottom; but may now be wearing tho stolon cloak ; has thick swelled legs and feot; and was barefooted.
