DESCRIPTION of an ass, the property of Patrick Soden, which was stolen from his out- house, at Kilna- creeva, parish of Laragb, barony of Upper Loughtee, on the night of the 6th March, 1863 :— A gray he ass, six years old, stripped on the right breast, wanted a shoe on one of the hind feet; and value for about £ 2. Supposed to have been stolen by two men who were seen some days previous loitering about the locality, and whose descriptions aie as follows :— 1. A tinker ( name unknown), about 6 feet high, 50 years of age ; wore a long gray frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, and felt bat. 2. A rag- man ( name unknown), about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, 25 years of age, pockpitted, sandy whiskers, wore a dark coloured frock coat, dark trowsers, and cap. Cootehill, 12th March, 1863. DuBLIN CASTLE, December 18, 1862. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer n reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. WHEREAS, on the night of the 10th instant, a party of riotous persons, paraded the streets of the city of Cork, committing breaches of the public peace. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the discovery and prosecution to conviction of said persons, and pro- portionably for any one or more of them. DESCRIPTION of a mare, the property of Timothy Breen, which was stolen from the lands of Kilquane, parish of Mournabbey, barony of Barretts, on the night of the 9th March, 1863 :— 7 years old, about 14 or 15 hands high, dirty black colour, 2 hind fetlocks white, white star on the forehead, heavy legs, coarse head, mark of traces on the sides, especially on the right; and value for about £ 10. DESCRIPTION of John Bohan, native of Benalough, who stands charged with having, on the 25th January, 1863, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Donoughmore, stolen four ewe sheep, the property of Edmond Murphy :— 28 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, blue eyes, dark hair; wore a blue cloth cap, gray frieza coat, dark gray tweed trowsers, dark gray tweed vest. The property belonging to Reverend Mr. Stewart, which was stolen from his house at Cecilstown, parish of Castlemagner, barony of Duhallow, on the nujht of 9th instant, has been found in the possession of William Barrett, who has been arrested in Limerick. DESCRIPTION of James M'Intire, native of Belleek, who stands charged with having on the night of 3rd instant, stolen 2 heifers, the property of David Johnston, which he sold io Kesh fair for £ 6 15s.:— is ' 0 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, slight make, black complexion, thin face, gray eyes, long nose, black hair ; wore a but, dark freize coat, cord trowsers, datk vest; has a slight impediment in his speech. DESCRIPTION of a person, name unknown, supposed to be a native of Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 8th instant, at Coolola, in the barony of Kilconnell, parish of Aughrim, stolen two asses, the property of John Curley and Patrick Cunningham :— 22 years of age, 5 feet high, stout make, very stout legs, red complexion ; wore a striped diess and brown cape. Description of the asses. 1. Brown colour, mare ass, about eight years old, marked in front from the collar, and behind from the britching, the property of John Curley. 2. Black colour, mare ass, small size, aged about seven yoars, has not been shod for several years, so that her hooves are all turned up, the property of Patrick Cunningham. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. WHEREAS, on the evening of the 1st instant, at forty- five minutes past 7 o'clock, a party unknown attempted to upset the Railway Train from Dromod to Sligo, by placing the wheels of a lurry and the butt of a tree as obstructions on the rails at Gootrim, in the barony of Mohill, county Leitrim. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son who shall, within six months from the date here- of, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person who committed the same. James, 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight make, dark complexion, thin face, gray eyes, regular nose, black hair; wore a dark frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, daik tweed vest; wore an old dark cloth cap. WHEBEAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in Mayo. DESCRIPTION of John Henaghan, native of Em- blybeg, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day ot March, 1863, in the barony of Erris, parish of Kilmore, feloniously stolen and carried- away from his master, Frank Henaghan, of Tarmon, in said county, with whom he lived as a servant boy :— one blue frieze body coat, one blue frieze trowsers, and black cloth vest, together with a one pound note:— 19 years of age, 5 leet 4 inihes high, stout make, sallow com- plexion, full face, blue eyes, hooked nose, dark brown hair; wore a cloth cap, blue frieze coat, blue frieze trowsers, black cloth vest; these are the stolen clothes which he is supposed to be wearing. Belmullet, lOtb March, 1863. ( B. 18357— 15249) 80th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperaiy, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 800 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the data hereof give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60- years of ago, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, hlack, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body poat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very ^ eavy eyebrows, somewhat gray 5 bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out^ high cheek bones and sunken jaws; end altogether a remarkable and an ill looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as & wig, MOUSTACHE FALSE teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. DESCRIPTION of a jackass, cut, the property of Michael Morrissey, of Ballymacken, which was stolen from the lands of Ballyclider, parish ot Straboe, barony of Maryboro' East, on the night ot tbe 2nd or morning of the 3rd March, 1863:— dark brown, 7 years old, low and heavy limbed, a cowlick on each hip, hollow across the loins, and low behind; tbe hair rubbed off the off side with the draft, and the tail with the cart; and value for iJOs. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Stapleton, supposed native of Toomavara, who stands charged with having, on tbe 23rd of January, 1863, in the barony of Eliogarty, parish of Loughmore, been one of a party who came to the house ot John Shanahan, of Curraghmore, and the door having - been secured against them, fired 4<# io shots in the yard ; the other offender ias been made amenable:— 26 years of age, 6 feet high, slight ruake, sickly, pale complexion, long face, gray eyes, long nose, fair liair; wore a dark frieze frock coat, very wide dark cord trowsers; wild, reckless appearance, with thick lips. DESCRIPTION of John Byrne, native of Glasha, county Waterford, who stands charged with having, nu the night ot the 1st instant, in the barony of glenahiry, parish of Kilronan, carried away by force Mary Ryan, with the assistance of three men, who are at present unknown :— 32 years of age, 5 feet 7| inches bigb, stout make, fair complexion, full face, d.. rkeyes, black hair:— wore a black jerry hat, pilot coat, dark tweed trowsers, dark vest. Has been in America, and talks in the American style. Ballinamult, 14tn March, 1863. ( B. 1791?— 8905.) Westmeath. £ 50 REWARD. WHEEEAS, on the evening of the 23rd ultimo, a party at present unknown, attempted to upset a special Railway Train at Ballinderry, near Mullingar, by placing an obstruction of timber across the rails. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any Thomas Drury ( assault endangering life) arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 9th February, 1863.
