DUBLIN, TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 1863. Scottish Police. STOLEN on the 27th or 28th February, 1863, from a dwelling- house, in Edinburgh ;— Eight silver table spoons, plain pattern, witb crest, a stag's bead, and motto " Vigilantia Robur Voluptas;" two silver dessert spoons, plain pattern, with crest, either a woman's head, and motto " Think on," or a stag's head, and motto " Vigilantia Robur Voluptasa silver egg spoon, plain pattern, with gilt mouth, and crest, a stag's head ; six silver table forks, plain pattern, witb crest, a stag's head, and either no motto, or the motto " Vigilantia Robur Voluptas;" fifteen silver dessert knives and fifteen silver dessert forks, wiih embossed handles; a silver hot- water jug, plain made, has a crest, and motto " Vigilantia Robur Voluptas," and the Napier crest, with the motto, " Ready, aye Ready," and a silver plated cruet- stand, plain made, and old, holds six bottles. Notice to the Superintendent of tbe City Police, Edinburgh. WANTED, for having on the night of Saturday, the 14th instant, assaulted and stabbed to the danger of life of Edward Dean Hammerman, residing in Jeffray's Close, Glasgow: Edward Carey, a shoemaker, but sometimes works as a labourer, about 25 years ot age, ." 5 feet 8 or 9 inches higb, freckled face, fair complexion, heavy eyebrows, small whiskers on upper part of cheek, a cut running from bottom of nose across to middlo of left cheek, a wart on left jaw, a number of pimples under chin and about neck, brown hair, pretty long, straight nose; dressed in white moleskin trowsers, blue vest, blue monkey jacket, and a blue cloth cap, with peak; a native either of Belmullet or Dudding, both in the county of Mayo. It is requested that everything be done to apprehend tbe said Edward Carey, and that any information concerning him be communicated to the Chief Constable of this city. STOLEN between tbe hours of five and six olclock, p. m., 10th instant, about thirteen or fourteen, gold Albert chains, eight lcng gold chains, two gold brace- lets, one a plain buckle, tbe other a plain band, orna- mented with a circle of vine leaves, in the centre of which is the representation of 8 bunch of grapes in small coral; 11 are fine gold. A case containing about three dozen of Ldies' gold finger rings, some of them half hoop turquoise, balf hoop opals, one of which is set with three opals, one of the opals cracked, one halt hoop ruby. Several others are set with pearls and turquoise in a cluster of four, with one in centre. Information to Superintendent Daniel Ryan, Lower Castle- yard, Dublin. 11th February, 1863. WgEBEAB it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ,£ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of a gold watch and chain, the pro- perty of Mr. William Darling, which were stolen from the county club house at Ennis, parish of Drumclitf, and barony of Islands, on the night of oth instant, or early in the morning of the 6th instant:— a gold watch, maker, West and Son, Dublin, and No. 1217, gold dial- plate, no minute- hand; chain, gold, has a slide with turquoise stones set ia it, tbe slide is in the lorm ol a serpent; watch and chain value for £ 24. WHEREAS, on the night of the 27th ultimo, about half past nine o'clock, two persons unknown, and armed, forcibly entered the dwelling of Patrick Maher, at Ballingorrane, in the barony, of Clonlish, King's County, and having seized on Moore Benson, and dragged him out of bed, seriously assaulted him, and subsequently fired at and wounded him. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of both or cither of said persons. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrator of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son who shall, within six months from the date here- of, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person who committed the same. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, id the barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided ill fclfveril parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereo!, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. DESCRIPTION of Peter Kelly, native of Eskerbane, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 2nd March, 1863, in the barony of Athlone, parish of Cam, stolen eight ewe sheep, the property ot Margaret Kelly, off the townland of Eskerbane:— 32 years ot age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout make, dark complexion, long face, grey eyes, straight nose, dark brown hair, black whiskers; wore a jerry hat, black frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers, black frieze vest, The police at seaport towns are requested to be on the alert, as it is supposed he will, attempt to go to America. Description of the sheep :— Eight ewe sheep, some of them on the point of , yeaning, and value for £ 2 10s. each; they were j marked with the letter K. on the right side, some of them with the letters P. DESCRIPTION of a heifer, the property of James Colleary, which was stolen from an out- house, at Car- rownaclowan, parish of Shancough, barony of Tirer- rill, on the night of 2nd instant:— a large yellow heifer, 3 years old, with some white spots on body, and a few white hairs on forehead, cocked horns; to calve about the latter end of April, and value for about £ 10. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 30th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperaiy, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 foet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, an< l a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few strav bairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; end altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He miy probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10^ 3.) WHEREAS, on the evening of the 23rd ultimo, a party at present unknown, attempted to upS6t a special Railway Train at Ballinderry, near Mullingar, by placing an obstruction of timber across the rails I hereby offer a reward of M50 to any pel- son who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. WHEREAS, on the night of the 11th April, 1802, an out- house, the property of John Higgins, Farmer, situated on the lands of Relick- Malone, in the barony of Rathconrath, county Westmeath, was set on fire by a party unknown, and entirely consumed, together with one three- year old bull, one three- old heifer, six two- year old heifers, two two- year old bullocks, one three- year old colt, one three- year old filly, one two- year old filly, one one- year old filly, and abodt two tons of hay all his property. I hereby offer a reward of £ 40 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage.
