STOLEN on the 27th or 28th February, 1863, from a dwelling- house, in Edinburgh:— Eight silver table spoons, plain pattern, with crest, a stag's head, and motto " Vigilantia Robur Voluptas;" two silver dessert spoons, plain pattern, with crest, either a woman's head, and motto " Think on," or a stag's head, and motto " Vigiiantia Robur Voluptas}" a silver egg spoon, plain pattern, with gilt mouth, and crest, a stag's head ; six silver table forks, plain pattern, with crest, a stag's head, and either no motto, or the motto " VTigilantia Robur Voluptas;" fitteen silver dessert knives and fifteen silver dessert foiks, with embossed handles; a silver hot- water jug, plain made, has a crest, and motto " Vigilantia Robur Voluntas,'' and the Napier crest, with the motto, " Ready, aye Ready," and a silver plated cruet- stand, plain made, and old, holds six bottles. Notice to tho Superintendent of the City Police, Edinburgh. WANTED, for having on the night of Saturday, the 14th instant, assaulted and stabbed to the danger of life of Edward Dean Hammerman, residing in Jeffray's Close, Glasgow: Edward Carey, a shoemaker, but sometimes works as a labourer, about 25 years ot age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, ) rec> i< lace, fair complexion, heavy eyebrows, small whiskors on upper part of cheek, a cut running from bottom of nose across to middle of left cheek, a wart on left jaw, a number of pimples under chin and about neck, brown hair, pretty long, straight nose ; dressed in white moleskin trowsers, blue vest, blue monkey jacket, and a blue cloth cap, with peak; a native either of Belmullet or Dudding, both in the county of Mayo. It is requested that everything be done to apprehend the said Edward Carey, and that any information concerning him be communicated to the Chief Constable of this city. STOLEN between the hours of five and six o'clock, p. m., 10th instant, about thirteen or fourteen gold Albert chains, eight long gold chains, two gold brace- lets, one a plain buckle, the other a plain band, orna- mented with a circle ot vine leaves, in tho centre of which is the representation of a bunch of grapes in small coral; 11 are fine gold. A case containing about three dozen of ladies' gold finger rings, some of them half hoop turquoise, half hoop opals, one of which is set with three opals, one of the opals cracked, one half hoop ruby. WHEREAS , it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at 011 the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. The above reward will be paid by William O'Hara, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Tulla, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James Ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in file barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on the 20th April, 1862, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the country since the said murder: Now, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Ross and James Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by R. A. O'Donnell, Esq., Resident Magistrate at Long- ford. DESCRIPTION of said Pat Ross and James Ross:— Patrick, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, thin face, gray eyes, sharp nose, cut on his lip, brown hair; wore a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; wore a jim crow hat. Will try to escape to America. James, 25 years < t age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight make, dark complexion, thin face, gray eyes, regular nose, black hair; wore a dark frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, dark tweed vest; wore an old dark cloth cap. DESCRIPTION of Myles Gibbons, who, with John Browne in custody, stands charged with having, on the morning of the 27th February, 1863, at. Ballure, in the barony of Burrishoole, parish of Kilmena, forcibly entered the residence ot Judy Gallagher, an old woman, whom he assaulted, with intent to violate:— 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout and soft make, frosh complexion, dark hair, brown eyes; slightly scraped on the face by the old woman, and may have the marks of her teeth on his hands; wore a cloth cap, daik frieze coat, grayish frieze trowser?, grayish frieza vest; native of Collanbeg Island, Mayo ; woro a pair of laced boots ; and is accompanied by his father and a younger brother, all going to America, their passage being already paid. It is supposed they Will try to go by steamer from Sligo to Liverpool. A vramrtit is on bands here for his arrest. Westport, 2nd March, 1863. ( B. 17039— 15209.) Monaghan. DUBLIN CASTLE, February 24, 1863. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 80th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrate or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline bat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of tbe head, with a few stray hairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; and altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.) WHEREAS, on the evening of the 28rd ultimo, a party at present unknown, attempted to upset a special Railway Train at Ballinderry, near Mullingar, by placing an obstruction of timber across the rails. I hereby offer a reward of £ 50 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. WHEREAS, on the night of the 11th April, 1862, ftil out- house, the property of John Higgins, Farmer, situated on the lands of Relick- Malone, in the barony of Rathconrath, county Westmeath, was set on fire by a party unknown, and entirely consumed, together with one three- year old bull, one three- old heifer, six two- year old heifers, two two- year old bullocks, one three- year old colt, one three- year old filly, one two- year old filly, one one- year old filly, and about two tons of hay all his property. I hereby offer a reward of £ 40 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the party concerned in this outrage. J £ 20 REWARD WHEREAS, on the morning of the 8th instant, Thomas Booth, Esq., received a Rockite letter through the Kilbeggan post office, warning him " to desist from taking any further proceedings against his ten- ants." And whereas, on the morning of the 13th instant, Mr. Booth, received another Rockite letter through the same post office, and in the same handwriting, threatening his life should he not discontinue his proceedings. I hereby offer a reward of £ 20 to any person who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons concerned in writing or sending the letters in question. DESCRIPTION of Patt M'Ginness, native of Moate, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 12th February, 1863, in the barony of clontonon, parish of Kilcleagh, assaulted Peter Fielding, from tbe eflects of which he died on the 13tb instahti— 19 years of ago, 5 feet 5 inches high, stout make, sallow complexion, round face, hazel eyes, cockfed nose, brown hair; wore a brown frieze coat, cord trowsers, tweed vest, cloth cap, laced boots; much pock- pitted; is a labourer.
