WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of the 3rd of June, 1862, William J. H. Moreland, Esq., was fired at on the public road at Poulagour, in the barony of Tulla Upper, and county of Clare, by some person at present unknown. His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any per- son or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who com- mitted the same. DESCRIPTION of a person, name unknown, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on tho evening ot 8th instant, about half- past one, p. m., in tho barony ot Raphoe, parish of Taughboyne, taken from tho house ot Thomas M'Girr, at St Johnston, where he was a lodger, a silver Geneva watch, silver face, with gold figures, value £ 4 10s.; and a gold chain, value for £ 5 5s., tho property of Charles Dunn, auothor lodger in the same house:— 36 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, large eyes, black hair, and a little bald ; wore a dark frock coat, moleskin trowsers, black vest, high low boots; two patches on right boot; rather flat footed ; hands clean and white, as if not used to hard work ; black beard unuer his chin. DESCRIPTION of a man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 12th day of February, 1863, in the barony of Uppercross, parish of Clon- dalkin, stolen a pair of leather boots, the property of Mary Keely, out of her lodging- house:— 48 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, brown hair; wore an old brown cloth coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vest. He is lame of the right leg. He is in the habit of breaking stones for road contractors, and had two hammers for that purpose with him. The Clondalkin Constabulary traced him as far as James's- ' street harbour, Dublin. This man had in his pos- session in tho lodging- house at Clondalkin a quantity of mutton, for which he did not account. The Con- stable at Clondalkin holds a warrant for his arrest. 1.11- an, 14th Feb., 1* 63. ( B. 15995— 8302) Galway. DK. SCRIPI'ION of three heifers, found in the posses- sion of a man who gives his name as John Collins, on tl o 11th instant, at Glanlaughan, in the barony of Clonmacnoon, and parish of Clontuskert, and which are supposed to be stolen, and which are impounded here:— No. 1. Two years old, white and yellow colour, branded in two places on the tight horn with the letters R. G. The other two heifers are of a white and yellow, ?. l* o ooo three years, and the other four years ; both branded on each horn with the letters R. G. The Jieifers are value for £ 8 each. Description of Collins :— 28 years of age, 5 feet inches high, stout make, dark complexion, full face, blue eyes, regular nose, black hair; wore a blue pilot frock coat, white cord trowsers, blue cloth vest, blue cloth cap, old high- low shoes, such as worn by soldiers; and has a smart sol- dierly appearance ; and is remanded here for further inquiry. DESCRIPTION of an ass, cart, and harness, the pro- perty of John Fallon, which were stolen from the lands of Oslerstown, parish of Naas, barony of North Naas, on the night of the 12th or morning of the 13th instant:— A large white mare ass, 6 or 7 years old, unshod ; a dray or cart, painted blue, an iron plate cn tailboard, tho name of John Fallon painted white on the right side of the body of the cart; a set of harness to suit same, much worn except winkers, which were nearly new, with brass ornaments ; all value lor about £ 7. WHEREAS information has reached the Government that Patrick Ross and James ross, charged with the murder of John Corrigan, and with firing at and wounding his wife, Mary Corrigan, near Malkagh, in tho barony of Longford, and county of Longford, on tho 20tli April, 1802, and who have not as yet been arrested, have been concealed, and are harboured, received, and concealed, and assisted and aided in several parts of the countiy since the said murder: Now, His Excellency tho Lord Lieutenant is pleasod to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any ono whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured, or received, or con- cealed, or assisted or aided in any way whatever in their escape from arrest, the said Patrick Boss and Jamos Ross. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by R. A. O'Donnoll, Esq., Resident Magistrate at Long- ford. Johnstone, Esq., J. P.:— 24 years of age, 5 feet inches hi^ h, slight make, dark complexion, blue eyes, black bair; wore a cap, brown coat, brown trowsers, gray vest. WHEREAS Michael Hayes, who is charged with having murdered Mr. John Waller Braddell, on the 80th of July, 1862, in the town of Tipperary, has hitherto evaded arrest. His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant is pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 300 to any person or persons who shall, within one month from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the said Michael Hayes. And His Excellency is further pleased hereby to offer a reward of £ 100 to any person or persons who shall, within three months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of any one whomsoever who has, since the said murder, knowingly harboured or received, or concealed, or assisted, or aided in any way whatsoever, the said Michael Hayes in his escape from arrest. By His Excellency's command, THOS. A. LARCOM. The above rewards will be paid by any Resident Magistrals or Officer of the Constabulary. DESCRIPTION of said Michael Hayes:— 60 years of ago, 6 feet high, stout make, dark sallow complexion, large heavy face, dark eyes, rather long nose, black, a little gray hair; wore a black frieze body coat, knee breeches, black stockings, Caroline hat; stooped shoulders, and a heavy slovenly gait when walking; has a down look; very heavy eyebrows, somewhat gray ; bald on the crown of the head, with a few stray bairs on it; several of his front teeth out; high cheek bones and sunken jaws; end altogether a remarkable and an ill- looking man. He may probably assume a disguise, such as a wig, moustache, false teeth, and black coat, & c. Cappamore, 3rd August, 1862. ( B. 10071— 10283.) DESCRIPTION of Michael Ryan, native of Kilcon- nell, who stands charged with having, on the 8th February, 1863, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Magorban, stolen three heifers, which he sold on the following day, at the fair of Cahir, the property of Mr. Thomas Price, of Coolrain :— 25 years of age, 5 feetf^ inches high, stout make, fair complexion, flat face, brown eyes, regular nose, dark hair ; wore a jerry hat, blue pilot frock coat, cord trowsers, black vest; round stooped shoulders ; very short neck ; heavy feet; a. id walks slovenly. DESCRIPTION of John Burke, a native of Reafadda who stands charged with havitig, between the 8th and 10th Feb., J863, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish of Toem, stolen two heifers, the property of Patrick Ryan, of Reafadda:— 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches hi; b, stout make, dark hair; wore a frieze coat, corduroy trowseis, old jim crow hat; has a stooped slovenly gait; has a very hoarse voice ; also has an im- pediment in his speech, and is somewhat idiotic. Description of the heifers :— 1. Two years old, black body, belly white, red spots on the sides, low behind, short smooth horns; value £ 4 10s. 2. Two years old, gray colour, spread horns ; value £ 4 10s. Dundrum, 13th Feb., 1863. ( B. 17365— 11156.) DESCRIPTION of Patrick Carney, native of Brickeen, who stands charged with having, on the 6th Jan., 1863, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Ballysheehan, stolen seven in- calf heifers, the property of Mr. Thomas Brindley, of Ballysheehan :— 34 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, stout make, swarthy com- plexion, full face, dark eyes, regular nose, very black hair; wore a jerry hat, blue pilot frock coat, cord trowsers, dark vest; large black whiskers ; rather ill- looking. It is probable he may endeavour to escape to America. A warrant for his arrest is in tbe hands of the Constabulary at Cashe). Cashel, 15th Feb., 1863. ( B. 14993— 11163. DESCRIPTION of five hogget sheep, the property tf Michael Delahunty, which were stolon from off his farm at Ballycahill, parish of Templemore, and barony of Eliogarty, on the night of the 6th instant, by some person or persons unknown:— Five hogget sheep, marked with the letter D. on right hip ; in good con- dition, and value for nearly £ 2 each. A milch cow, 4 years old, whitish colour; m good condition, valuo £ 12. 2. A strawberry coloured cow, 4 years old, short horns, the tops of which are cut off, horns branded ith letters D. James Mahony ( robbery) not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 17th June, 1862. Wicklow. DESCRIPTION of a gold watch and chain, the pro- perty of Mr. William G. Revill, which was stolen from his dwelling- house in the town of Arklow, parish of Arklow, barony of Arklow, between the hours of 2 and 7 o'clock, p. m., on 10th instant:— A gold watch, double cased, horizontal, capped and jewelled, No. 550, maker, Dalrymple, Dublin, attached was a gold chain, close curb pattern, and a large gold ring, old- fashioned arrow head hands. Mr. Revill will give £ 2 reward for the recovery of the watch and prosecution of tbe thief. Arklow, 12th February, 1863. ( B. 15495- 6200.)
