Stolen from the person of Philip Morris, between 2 and 6 p. m. on the 24th instant, while asleep on the turnpike- road in the parish of Clunbury, a portemonnaie containing a £ 5 Note of the Ruthin Bank, a two- Dollar Bill of the State of Illinois, America, and a silver lever Watch, gilt figured face, No. ( supposed) 6211, maker Johnson, Liverpool. By a man about 50 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark hair and whiskers, and dark swarthy complexion; dressed in a jimcrow hat, dark cord ( round) jacket, waistcoat, and trousers, old clogs, he is of dirty appearance, has been in the army, and is likely to be found in low beer- houses. Information to be given to Sergeant G. C.' in the centre engraved on the back. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Carewell, Constabulary Office, Burnley, Lancashire.— Bow- street, May 28. Stolen, about .2,40 p. m. on the 26th instant, from the person of a gentleman, while in Gartside- street, Manchester, a gold lever Watch, No. 5722, private mark scratched on the inside case, ' YiV haa ' A. J. engraved on the back of the outer case, engine- turned case, and gold dial; also a gold Scarf Pin, set with three small oval stones, imitation cornelian. A reward of £ 5 will be pa'id to any person giving such information as may lead to the apprehension and conviction of the thief or thieves, and recovery of the property, on application to Mr. John Gee, Superintendent of Police, A Division, Albert- street, and Lower King- Btreet, Manchester; or at any of the Police Stations in the city of Manchester.— Bow- street, May 28. Stolen from the person in the borough of Halifax, about half- past 10 on the nght of the 10th instant, about twenty £ 5 Halifax Bank Notes; two 10 Bank of England Notes ; one Draft, ' 14 days after date, on Roberts, Lubbeck, and Co., 8tli May, 1862, Number 1028, pro Atkinson and Sons, for £ 45 15s., drawn by Milford and Co., City Bank, Exeter'; one Cheque for £ 17 7s. 6d., to the order of William Bates, from John Edwards and Sons, May 3rd, 1862, on the Halifax and Huddersfield Union Bank. £ 20 reward will be paid to any person who will give such information as will lead to the con- viction of the offender or offenders, and the recovery of the property, or in proportion to the amount recovered. About 25 silver lever and verge ditto. 1 gold Guard Chain, Belcher pattern ; 3 ditto, cylinder pattern ; 3 ditto, secret- link pattern ; 2 ditto, Spanish tie pattern ; and 1 ditto, Belcher and Swiss pattern. 8 gold Alberts, Belcher, cylinder, secret link, and other patterns; and about 40 gold Rings, signet, plain, & c. Three men of the following description are suspected: one is from 20 to 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair com- plexion, reddish or sandy hair, no whiskers, and dressed in a dark shooting- coat, trousers, vest, and cap ; one is about 32 years of age, 6 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion, black hair, small black whiskers, high cheek bones, and has some defect about the bridge of the nose ; dressed in dark clothes much worn,- and dark cap; the other is about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, but riot so old as the second, and dressed in dark clothes and cap. A reward of £ 30 will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the recovery of the pro- perty, and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to the Chief Constable of Lanarkshire, at Hamilton. — Bow- street, May 30. Oil the night of the 27th instant, the saddle- room of Mr. Parkes, in the parish of Hougham, in the county of Lincoln, was broken and entered, and the- following property stolen therefrom ( the property of the servant), viz. : a short drab Slop, buttons down the front, nearly new ; a short white Slop, much Vo'rn ; a pair of Blucher Boots, worn at the outside heel of each boot; a pair of leather Leggings, much worn ; a calico Shirt, dirty ; a pair of. ivhite. Stockings, mended at the heels; and a Bundle Handkerchief, blue, with white spots. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Sharpe, County Police Station, Grantham, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, May 30. During the night of the 28th instant some persons broke into the offices of Messrs. Hopkins & Co., at the Tees Side Iron Works, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, and removed there- from a Milner's patent Safe ( since recovered); two black Morning Coats bound with broad braid, one velvet and the other stockenette, with horn buttons and strap pockets ; some Keys; a bundle of Letters and Papers ; a quantity of gilt Pens ; some Postage and Receipt Stamps ; two or three bottles of Sherry ; and about £ 3 in Money. £ 10 reward will be paid on conviction of the offenders or any of them to any person who will give such information as shall lead to such conviction. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Smith, North Riding Constabulary, Stokesley; or to Mr. E. J. Saggerson, Chief Superintendent of Police, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, May 30. Further particulars respecting the robbery at the house of the Rev. H. Herbert, at Sear- green, Bucks, on the 25th instant ( advertised in the Police Gazette of the 26th instant). The offence is supposed to have been committed by a tramp, who was seen near the house a short time previous to the robbery : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, rough sallow complexion, brown hair ; dressed in a dirty grey suit of clothes and grey cap. He is supposed to be accompanied by a woman and a red- coloured dog. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Clark, Police Station, Slough, Bucks.— Bow- street, May 30. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREASOENa. Stoleii early on the morning of the 24th instant, from a watchmaker's shop in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, by means of house- breaking, about, seventy gold and silver Watches and other Jewellery, as follows :— 5 gold lever Watches, with gold dials, one with six jewels, No. 1737, the others have eight jewels each, numbers 7277, 43110, 16200, and the other not known. 1 lady's gold lever ditto, No. 18887, gold dial, four jewels. 1 gold Geneva ditto, No. 19537, gold dial. 1 gold horizontal ditto, No. 163, maker's name W, B. Thomson, Edinburgh. • 1 gold lever ditto, gold dial, eight jewels. 1 gold- plated Geneva hunting ditto, hole in centre. 8 silver lever dittg, - Nos. 8398, 8399, 8400, 8401, 8402, 8403, maker's name on the works ' Wm. Marshall, Wishaw,' engraved cases, gold joints, silver dials. 6 ditto ditto, Nos. 1390, 1391, 1396, 1393, 1385, 146S, silver dials, gold borders, jewelled in six holes. Further particulars respecting the tramp described in the Police Gazette of the 28th instant, charged with housebreaking at the Pant, in the parish of Llandinam, Montgomeryshire : it has since been ascertained that his slop is white, dark cloth trousers, short in the legs for him, and pieced on the knees and thighs, he wears a pair of leggings under his trousers which he laces up in front with a thong from his clogs. Information to be given at the Chief Constable's Office, Newtown, or to P. C. John Pearson, Caersws, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- st., May 30. Between P30 and 3* 30 p. m. on the 26th instant, the dwelling- house of John Mullins, labourer, of Stainforth, near Doncaster, was| entered ( supposed by a skeleton key) during the temporary'absence of the family, and the following pro- perty stolen therefrom : 14s, in Silver; two blue striped cotton Shirts; a double- breasted black cloth Frock Coat, with two outside pockets at the back and one inside left breast ( of a blue or green coloured material), and plain blaclc silk covered but- tons, one of the outside pockets has a light- coloured cotton Pocket Handkerchief, with yellow flowers, in it. Two men ( who had the appearance of tramps) were seen upon the pre- mises : one, who appeared the eldest, walked lame, and was dressed in light- coloured clothes ; the younger man had on a light- coloured woollen jacket. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent D. Astwood, Doncaster, or to Sergeant ( 339) J. Gibson, Hatfield, West Riding Constabulary, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, May 30. Between 2 and 7 p. m. on the 26th instant, the cottage of Thomas Griffiths, labourer, of the parish of Laysters, in the county of Hereford, was entered during the absence of the family, and the following articles stolen therefrom, viz.: a black cloth Jacket, the inside breast- pocket torn; a red and orange plaid Vest, with a button off; a light- coloured ditto, with narrow blue stripes across; a scarf Shawl, dark centre, coloured border, and black fringe ; a square ditto, pine pattern, red and other colours, and torn in one corner; and two silk Handkerchiefs, one red and white, the other dark and various colours. Suspicion is attached to a man and woman who were seen near the house ; the man is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high fresh- looking, and' dressed in woollen cord double- breasted sleeved waistcoat, fustian trousers, and white slop tied round his shoulders, like a navvy. The woman had on a lilac print dress, print apron with white border round the bottom, and white straw bonnet. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Dykes, Constabulary Station, Leominster, Hereford.— Bow- street, May 28. Between 9 p. m. on the 26th and 8 a. m. on the 27tli instant, the lock- up shop and premises of Mr. James Entwistle, draper, Market- place, in the borough of Wigan, was feloniously _ entered through a sky- light, and the following property stolen. therefrom: 211 yards of black glace Silk, 9 ditto, 12$ ditto, 26J ditto, 9 ditto, 5 ditto, 3f ditto. 37 yards of white edged Silk, 15 ditto. 13 yards of Albert blue brocade striped Silk, the stripe is abi ut 1 inch wide and runs across, brocaded in the stripe. 13 yards of violet brocaded striped Silk, same as the above, and faded in the centre of the piece about the size of a person's hand, by being exposed in the window. • 13 yards of gold and blue brocaded striped Silk, same as the above, but not faded. , 13 yards of green and black brocaded striped Silk, 13 ditto. 13 yards of scarlet and black Silk, with narrow black stripe. 13 yards of brown striped Silk. 17 ]- yards of brown, black, and white brocaded Silk. 14 yards of crimson and black striped Silk. > 3 1 brown flounced silk Dress- piece, and black silk flouncing for a dress. Information to be given to Mr. William Simm, Chief Constable, Wigan. — Bow- street, May 28. On the 26th instant the dwelling house of Edward Wilding, of the Pant, in the parish of Llandinam, - Montgomery- shire, was broken into by two tramps. One of them was 26 to 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, light brown hair, long thin face, small sandy whiskers ; dressed in a light cotton slop with blue stripe, dark cord trousers, black bowler hat with stiff. brim turning up . a little at the sides, and clogs. There were two women and two children belonging to them, whom they very likely will endeavour to join in some part of Radnor- shire or Brecknockshire. One of the women is far gone in pregnancy. The man described . can fe'identified. Information to be given at the Chief Constable's Office, Newtown ; or to P. C. Pearson, Caersws, Montgomery shire.— Bow- street, May2Z. Between 3 and 4 p. m. on the 25th instant, the dwelling- house of the Rev. Benjamin Mashiter, of WoodfcQl, near Macclesfield, was entered during the absence of the family at church, with the exception of Miss Mashiter, who was met on the top of the staircase by a man with crape over his face and a kpife in his hand, and swore he would stab her if she made any- alerni; he then went into one of the bedrooms and broke open a drawer, from which he took the following Bank of England Notes : one £ 10,—' LB 96871, Manchester, 30th Jan- uary, 1861;' one £ 5,—' LL 26590, Newcastle- on- Tyne, 15th August, 1861;' one £ 5, — < LH 13192, Manchester, 17th January, 1861;' one £ 5,—' PK 17861, London, 11th January, 1862;' twelve Sovereigns, and about £ 3 in Silver. Description of the man: low stature; dressed in blaek coat and black tommy hat. A second man was seen in the garden near the house. £ 5 reward will be paid on the apprehension and con- viction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the notes. Information to be given to. Mr. Superintendent Williamson, Constabulary Office, Macclesfield.— Bow- street, May 28. During the night of the 25th instant, the Worleston Day School, near Nantwich, was entered, by taking out a pane of glass, and the following articles stolen therefrom, viz.: a box of steel Pens, two new Copybooks, a printed Frock, some brown woollen Yarn, and about 1J yards of striped Muslin. Infor- mation fo be given to Sergeant Wood, Police Station, Nantwich ; ' or to P. C. Rowbotliam, Worleston, Cheshire.— Bow- street, May 28. Between 7 a. m. and 6 p. m. on the 21st instant, the cottage of Edward Payne, a labourer, of the parish of Alveley, Salop, was entered and the following property stolen therefrom : a green silk plaid Handkerchief, with white ground and a little blue, which can be identified ; and some Bread and Bacon. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent McWilliam, Bridgnorth, or to P. C. H. C. Alder, Alveley.— Bow- street, During the night of the 23rd instant, the dwelling- house of Job Heath Apted,. currier, of Reigate, was burglariously entered, and the following property stolen therefrom, viz.: a brown tweed mixture Jacket, with pockets at the side, and a breast pocket inside ; also a dark green cloth Jacket, with pockets at the side, and a breast pocket inside. Also, the same night, the dwelling of James Mewes, coffee- house, Reigate, was entered, and the following property stolen therefrom, viz.: a brown mixture cloth Coat, with pockets at the side, and a breast pocket inside; an old calico Shirt; an old linen ditto, a mark has been cut out of the tail, and a piece put in; and an old drab Shawl, with red stripes. Between 11 a. m. and 1 p. m. on the 2,' 5th instant, during the absence of the family at church, the dwelling house of the Rev. Henry Herbert, at Sear- green, Bucks, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom: a gold Watch, makers Cox & Savory; a gold Chain ; an amethyst Brooch, plain gold setting ; an Indian gold Brooch, subject— Delhi Temple ; a silver malachite ditto; a gold topaz ditto ; a silver cornelian ditto; a gold pebble ditto ; a steel ditto ; a large silver Chain ; a jet Bracelet; a jet Brooch, three figures in middle ; a ditto with small gold Chain attached ; two red cornelian Bracelets ; a white cornelian Bracelet; two Bracelets with red stones ; a pair of pearl Hair Pins ; a small plain gold Pin; * blue snake Bracelet, get with gold ; a turquoise Ring ; a hair ditto ; a opal ditto; a plain gold ditto; and a Purse containing a half- sovereign. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent T. K. Clark, Slough ; or to Inspector J. Hall, Beaconsfield, Bucks.— Bow- street, May 26. HORSE A MS CATTLE STEALING. The light brown Nag Horse supposed to have been stolen from Lye Waste, in the county of Worcester ( advertised in the Police Gazette of the 28th instant), has been found, and restored to the owner.— Bow- street, May 30. Absconded on the 27th instant, from Burton Joyse, Not- tinghamshire, charged with Sheep stealing, WILLIAM ALL- COCK, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, dark hazel eyes, dark hair and whiskers, fresh complexion; had on a black billycock hat, and dark pilot coat or wrapper, dressed sometimes in a white slop ; he has been a railway shunter at the Great Northern Station- yard, Nottingham, and discharged, has lately bought and sold sheep skins and carcases, he is very talkative. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Palethorpe, County Police Office, Nottingham, who will pay all expenses.— Bow- street, May 30. The brown mare Pony supposed to have been stolen on the evening of the 13th instant from Rickmanswortl), the pro- perty of George Banton ( advertised in the Police Gazette of the 19th instant), has been found and restored to the owner.— Bow- street, May 30. years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, light curly hair, pale com- plexion, large eyes, and has a scar under left ear. It is sup- posed that he will emigrate. Information to be given to the Inspector on duty, Seething- lane Station, City of London.— Bow- street, May 30. JOHN KILLINGS, a private in the Herts Militia, escaped from the guard room at Hertford, on the 28th instant, stealing and taking with him the following articles : two black cloth Coats, three Waistcoats, three pairs of Breeches, three pairs of Gaiters, two pairs of Trousers, one pair of Top Boots, one pair of Shoes, and and one wrapper. He is 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, light hair and whiskers, and small light moustache ; he was in the custody of the City of London Police at the Smithfield Station, on the 2fith instant. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Knight, Hertford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, May 30. Stolen from the house of Miles Gerrard, in Frodsham, on the 23r4 instant, a silver verge Watch, maker's name Edmonds, Liverpool, the long hand a little bent, and had a steel Chain attached. By a young man of the following description: about 24 years of age, short and stout, full face, pug nose, no whis- kers, and dressed in a dark cloth shooting jacket, grey vest, cord trousers, blucher boots, blue scarf round his neck, and a brown cloth cap ; he stated that he was a saddler by trade, and had worked last in Flint. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Gwynne, Tarporley; or to Sergeant Hilton, Police Station, Frodsham, Cheshire.— Bow- street, May 30. Absconded from Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, on the 24th instant, charged with appropriating to his own use the materials, & c., for making seven pairs of women's Boots which had been entrusted to him to make up, JAMES MATTHEWS, a tramping shoemaker ( first- rate hand), a native of Welshpool, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 3J inches high, light brown hair, grey eyes, pale face, much pockpitted, and dressed in old dark cloth clothes. He has with him a shoemaker's travelling card, issued at Welshpool, signed by ' Thomas Moxey he will probably call at shoemaker's club houses. Information to be given to Sergeant Strefford, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, and sandy whiskers j dr63sed in black frock eoat, rest, and trousers, fancy necktie with gold pin, and gold chain with several appendages. Smyth, Esq., of Little Houghton, has been apprehended and committed to take his trial at the next quarter sessions for this offence. Informa- tion' to be given to Inspector J. T. The mountain mare Pony found at Llanidloes on the 16th instant ( advertised in the Police Gazette of the 23rd instant), has been restored to the owner,— Bow- street, May 30. round shouldered, lame of the right leg, and uses a walking stick; dressed in a dirty brown canvas slop, cord trousers, a red and brown cotton handkerchief tied loosely round his neck, and a brown cloth cap with peak. He presented a begging petition, headed ' Ladies and Gentlemen'; he can be identified. Information to be given to Mr, G. Vickers, Super- intendent of the Borough Police, Guildford, Surrey.— Bow- street, May 30. Absconded on the 24th instant, from No. 78, Leader- street, Stolen between 11- 30 p. m. on the 23rd and 5- 30 a. m. on j Chelsea, embezzling £ 4, the monies of Mr. Strutton, a woman, the 24th instant, from a stable in Mulberry- place, Clerkenwell, | a milk carrier, 40 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, dark the property of Jolm White, Little Button- street, Clerkenwell, j hair, a little bald on the top of her head, and wore a dark blue a grey Mare, 13| hands high, with Cart Pad and Bridle, a pair dress, dark shawl, fancy straw bonnet withjilue ribbon, and p TT • DI/ LINRA MRONFINIV I Nact\ r\ r of H- jmes, a pair of Reins, and a Riding Bridle, metal wanting. — Metropolitan Police, G Division, May 28. During the night of the 23rd instant a half- bred Teg Sheep was feloniously killed and slaughtered, in a field at Oldfield Farm, parish of Beaconsfield, Bucks, and the legs and shoulders taken away, the remainder being left in the field, the property of Mr. George Rance, farmer. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent T. K. Clark, Slough; or to Inspector T. Hall, Beaconsfield, ' BucVs— Bow- street, May 28. Supposed to have been stolen, on the night of the 16th instant, from a field at Leigh Hall, in the parish of Worthen, Shropshire, an aged nag Mare, about 15 hands high, light brown, four black legs, long switch tail, small saddle mark on back, has no shoes on back, and is supposed to have a foal with her. Obtained, on the 23rd instant, by means of false pretences, from George Kemp, of the parish of Ticehurst, Sussex, a Concertina. By a man, 23 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, no whiskers, slight mous- tache, and dressed in a dark cap with French peak, black cloth coat, blue velvet vest, and lightish trousers with dark stripe down them. It is supposed that he will be found playing the concertina in villages in the county of Sussex or Kent; he stated that he was a carpenter by trade, and that he came from Brighton. Description of JAMES HULL, who was enticed from his parents at East Dereham, in the county of Norfolk, on the 15th instant: he is 9 years of age, light ' brown hair, light com- plexion, long features, very narrow chest; dressed in a black velvet coat, cord trousers, with patch on front, and dark cap ; a native of Lancashire, where his father kept a poultry shop about two years ago. A man of the following description is charged with this offence, and with whom the boy is now supposed to be; about 45 years of age, brown hair, whiskers inclined to be sandy; dressed in a blue and white check slop, dark trousers and cap, and goes about the country, singing in the streets. Description of a man remanded at Montgomery Gaol until the 7th of June next, charged with larceny : he gives the name of JOHN NAIRN, native of Glasgow, by trade a stonemason from 30 to 35 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, dark brown hair, inclined to sandy, whiskers shaved off, tuft of hair on the chin, sandy moustache, and is of a swarthy complexion, has a large cut under the right eye, which lie states was done at Chester Races; dressed in dark mixture jacket, dark waist- coat, buttoning up to the front, and moleskia trousers, all of which are much worn. THOMAS JONES, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark brown hair, and blue eyes, the left eye is defective, states that he is a native of Bristol, and wears a small cross round his neck; and BERNARD DUFFY, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, light brown hair, whiskers shaved off, a small tuft of hair on chin, states that he is a native of Galway, Ireland, and is a plasterer by trade. He is 24 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, oval visage, scar from cut on upper lip, mole on left cheek, scar from cut on tip of first finger of right hand, scar from cut on back of left hand, dressed in very old ragged clothes and straw bat ; he is a vagrant, and states that he belongs to Buckinghamshire. Two men of the following description were committed for trial on the 27th instant, to the next quarter sessions for the county of Oxford, charged with stealing from the shop of Mr. Charles Lovelock, draper, High- street, Watlington, on the evening of the 26th instant, a pair of Trousers. One gave the name of WILLIAM NICHOLSON, of Somers Town, London, painter, 33 years of age, 5 feet 10$ inches high, slightly made, walks very erectly, dark complexion, dark hair, slight mous- tache and whiskers, which meet under the chin, front teeth in upper jaw rather large and wide apart, hazel eyes, which appear to be weak, having a slight cagt in right eye, face sun burnt as if from exposure to a hot climate, and dressed in a dark alpaca blouse, also a light holland ditto, cord trousers, dark striped waistcoat,, white calico shirt, lilac coloured cotton neckerchief, blucher shoes, and dark cap ; the other gave the name of JAMES BOOTH, of Macclesfield, labourer, 31 years of age, 5 feet 5J inches high, proportionately made, light com- plexion, rathersun burnt, light hair, light red whiskers which meet under the chin, blue eyes, three teeth out in front of upper jaw, stoops slightly when walking, and dressed in a rusty brown cloffi. coat, pepper- and- salt coloured union waistcoat, dirty calico s^ firt, cotton neckerchief with red ground, brown tweed trousers, brown cloth cap, and very old lace- up shoes. The names are supposed to be fictitious, and these men are strongly suspected of having committed offences elsewhere, and of having been previously convicted. Nicholson admitted that he was sentenced to four years' penal servitude at Hereford in 1854, and previously at Warwick in the name of Douglas; and Booth to six months' hard labour in 1861, for housebreak- ing at Black Barnsley. Description of a young woman who gave the name of ANNIE THOMPSON, but whose proper name is believed to be MARY JANE LOW, committed to Morpeth Gaol for three calendar months on a charge of larceny. She is about 18 or 20 years of age, 6 feet l j inches high, brown eyes, dark brown hair, common nose and mouth, round face, sallow com- plexion, and proportionate make; stated that she was a dress- maker, and belonged to Woolsingham, in Durham, where her mother now resides; she has been very little at home, she occasionally gets lodgings for the night at respectable houses, and robs the house on leaving in the morning. ELIZABETH SPENCER, wife of William Spencer, of Hemingford Abbotts, Huntingdonshire, left her home early on the morning » ' f the 24th instant, and has not since been heard of : it is feared that her mind is impaired, and that some ill has befallen her. She is 58 years of age, middle size, grey eyes, grey hair, sallow complexion, and has lost her front teeth ; it is unknown what dress she may be wearing, but it is supposed that she is without a bonnet. Description of a man and woman committed for trial at the quarter sessions for Breconshire, charged with stealing from the person at Hay, on the 19th instant. MICHAEL JENNINGS, 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light grey eyes, high cheek bones, fair complexion, wide mouth, scar over right eyebrow and below right eye, proportionate make, has lost his left fore arm, and wears an artificial one with screw attached, says he lost his arm in a coal pit, is of Irish descent, but resides principally in Birmingham, where he has a brother; and MARY JENNINGS, wife of Michael, 30 years of age ( but looks" 40), 5 feet 2f inches high, dark brown hair, dark eyes, fresh complexion, small scar on forehead near the scalp, prominent nose, long visage, has lost her front teeth, slender • person, says she is a native of Newport, Monmouth. Both fre- quent fairs, pretending to sell small wares. They are suspected of having committed offences elsewhere. Missing, a man of the following description : 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 54 years of age, swarthy complexion, black hair and whiskers, and dressed in a long blue greatcoat, grey cloth vest and trousers, torn at bottoms, all much worn, old shoes, and a low black hat; he carried a small bundle under his arm in a spotted handkerchief. He is a hawker, and was seen on the 24th ultimo in a field near Glenhoul, in the parish of Dairy, and stewarty of Kirkcudbright, examining the contents of his pack. The pack ( which was found on the 26th ultimo near the same place) is 20 inches long, 13 inches broad, and 7 inches deep, with two small drawers that lift out, is of a brown and yellow colour, and contains thread, thimbles, bone rings, wooden pipes, trumps, blacking, finger rings, buttons, watch keys, shawl pins, hair combs, pens and pen- holders, & c. The leather strap of the pack has been cut through, and part of it is wanting. It is supposed that the man is insane. Missing from his home since the 11th instant, JAMES MASSEY, a baker by trade, of Winchester- street, Salisbury, 29 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, very round shoul- dered, thin features, no whiskers, and dressed in light cord trousers, cap, and coat. He is of weak intellect, and it is feared that some ill has befallen him, or that he has met with some foul treatment. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent E. Escaped from the Warwick County Lunatic Asj'lum, Hatton, on the night of the 25th instant, a criminal lunatic, named JOHN HILL, alias GEORGE THOMPSON, alias JOHN JONES, alias MACKEY HILL, a native of Redditch, Warwickshire, about 5 feet inches high, well built, upright, brown hair, long in front, short behind, brown whiskers, moderate in quantity, light hazel eyes, small and deep set, full and prominent forehead, not high, a little colour, high cheekbones, with a long scar on the right one, from an old cut, countenance heavy, anxious, and watchful, one finger- nail on the right hand split down the back, has the letter ' D.' branded on left side of chest ; has delusions, and at times speaks inco- herently. Further information respecting the Wearing Apparel stolen from Brithtir Factory, Berriew, on the night of the 21st instant, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the ] 26th instant. Part of the child's apparel has been found in a hedge tied up in the body of an old lilac dress which appeared to have been worn by a tramping woman. Stolen between the hours of 6 p. m. on the 24th and 11 a. m. on the 25th instant, from a pheasant pen at Glyn Abbott, one cock Pheasant, feathers of tail and wings broken from con- finement ; and one hen ditto, with a few white feathers on head and back, the property of Thomas Mather, Esq. A reward of £ 5 will be paid to any person who will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, on application to Superintendent C. Supposed to have been stolen on the morning of the 18th instant, from Aston- on- Clun, in the county of Salop, the pro- perty of Mr. John Beddoes, of that place, farmer, a Scotch Sheep Dog, about 12 months old, small size, yellow hair, white feet, silver eyes, bushy tail, and anwers to the name of ' Trusty.' If stolen, Mr. Beddoes will pay all reasonable expenses on recovery of the dog, and apprehension of, the offender or offenders. Also stolen, from the dwelling- house of Peter Barlow, of Heaton, between 8 a. m. on the 21st and 6 p. m. on the 24th, a blue pilot cloth Overcoat lined with blue and red plaid, small ticket pocket in right side and two pockets behind, and a green clouded silk Vest with a red satin stripe, and black calico back. Stolen between the 11th and 22nd instant, from the house of James Harp, publican, Catterick, in the North Riding of Yorkshire, a gold Ring, set with six small diamonds and three rubies ; a gold Rosary Ring, with a black cross in the centre ; and a gold Ring, set with blue stones. A man of the follow- ing description is suspected, who lodged in the house, and absconded at, the time the property was missed : about 35 years j of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, fresh complexion, sandy coloured hair, whiskers, and moustache, has a cut on the left side of his nose, proportionately made, and dressed in a snuff- coloured coat and cap, and shabby fustian trousers, he is a millwright by trade, and his clothes are dirty with working in mills; he stated that he belonged to Richmond, in Surrey, which place he is likely to make for; he is much addicted to drinking, and may offer the property for sale. A tramp of the following description is suspected : about 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark com- plexion, brown hair, slight figure, leans forward when walking, and is rather near- sighted ; dressed in a long smock frock, and is supposed to be wearing the stolen boots ; he travels the country begging, and sleeping in farm buildings.
