We have'been requested to state that the order to withdraw the advertisement of " Eastfield House to Let," was a mistake. The House is not as yet let, hut from the beauty of its situation, and the low rent at which it is- offered, ( iu consequence of the pro- prietor removing to another part of the Island,) we should think it will soon command a tenant.— See Advertisement. CAUTION.— The High Bailiff of this town has is- sued the following caution .—" A gang of swindlers is now in the Island, pretending to find money, rings. & c., enticing persons into public houses, leading them to gamble with cards, dice, & c., and swindling the incautious out of their money. It was moved and seconded that the House should stand adjourned till Wednesday 8th inst., at 11 o'clock. This was unanimously assented to. The SECRETARY said, it would be best to send up a Deputation to his Excellency tbe Lieutenant- Gov- ernor, notifying him of the adjournment, and also informing him that the House expected to receive communications from its agent, aside from what the Lieut.- Governor might lay before it. Messrs. DUMBELL and M. GOLDIE went up as the Deputation. On their return, they reported through the Secretary, that the Lieut.- Governor had no information to lay before the House; but on re- ceiving information, he would call the Housetogethcr on a single day's notice.
