INFORMATIONS. MURDEB. JOHN M'CANN stands charged with the Wilful Murder • of Benjamin Gott, and a warrant lias been issued for his appre hension. Ho is about'.' 8 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and whiskers, thick lips, nose and upper lip turn up, rather stoops when walking, a glazier, and was a trunk- maktr.— Whoever will apprehend the said offender, and lodge hir. i in i. ny of Her Majesty's Gaols, shall have all reason able ex- panses paid, on application to Mr. Win. Briggr, deputy conste.' ole, Bradford —[ Bow- sired, July 1] , ARSON AND WILFUL BURNING. At an early hour on the morning of the 17th ult., the Farm Hormstead at Waterbeach, in the county of Cambridge, in the occupation of Mr. Edward Mason, was wilfully Set on Fire and destroyed.— A Reward of £ 200, viz., £ 100 by Her Majesty's Government, and £ 100 by the said Mr. Edward Mason, will be paid to any person who will give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders ; and The Right Hon the Secretary of State for the Home De- partment will advise the grant of Her Majesty's most gracious Pardon to any accomplice ( not being the Person who actually Set Fire to the Premises) who will give such evidence as shall lead to the same result. Information to be given to It. Young- man, high constable, Waterbeach, near Cambridge.—[ Bow- street, une 26 ] On the morning of the 19ih of May, some Person or Persons - wilfully and maliriously Set Fire to a Shed in the occupation of Mr- Edward Tombs, of Maiseyhampton, whereby three Oxen were destroyed.— Whoever will give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offend- ers, shall receive £ 70 Reward,—£ 50 by Her Majesty's Secretary of "- tale for the Home Department, and £' 20 by ihe said Mr. Edward Tombs And the Right Honourable Sir James Graham will advise the grant of Her Majesty's most gracious Pardon to an accomplice ( not being the person who actually Set Fire to the said property) who will give such evidence as shall lead to same result. Information to be given to Mr Bennett, superin- tendent of police, Cirencester.—[ Bow- street June 22- 1 On the night of the 12th ultimo, some evil- disposed Person or Persons feloniously Set Fire to a load of Straw, standing in the Home- yard of Messrs T. and W. Black, of Ashby Folville, by which, property to a considerable amount was destroyed.— Whoever will give such infoimation as shall lead to the appre- hension and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive a Reward of £ 30, on application to Messrs. The Robbery was lommitted by a Female* 25 years of age, 5 feK 4 inches high, and dark com- phxion : dressed in a light coloured dress, white drawn bonnet ( not silk), and black scan.— I Metropolitan Police office, June 29.] Stolen, about half- past 10 o'clock on the evening of the 25th ultimo, fom the Pt- rson of Mr Abiaham Cole, No. 16, Great Russell- street, while in No. 11, George- street, St. Giles's, a silver Watch, double- bottomed, and lever, ' A. Cole' engraved on the case inride.—] Metropolitan Police- office, June 27. J Stolen, between 12and 1 o'clock A. M. of the 23rd ultimo, from the Person of Thomas Campbell, 352, Albany- road, Cam- berwell, whilst in Chamber- street, Whitechapel, an old- fashioned double- cased gold Watch, name on face ' La Rous, London,' with two figures on tbe outside of the case, supposed to represent Adam and Eve; also, a black Ribbon and common Key attached. The robbery was committed by a Prostitute, about 35 years of age, low stature, large features, and Irish accent; had on a light- coloured dress, and no bonnet—[ Metropolitan Po I ice- office, June 26.] Stolen, from the Person of Abraham Cook, at Bartifield Horse Fair, on the 22nd ultimo, art old fashioned silver Watch, face br> ken between the figures 7 and 9^ with brass Chain, Seal and Key, marked ' A Cook' inside ihe case— Information to be given to the Superintendent of Police, Castle Hedingham Station, Essex.— ] Bow- street, June 25.| Stolen, from the Person of • George Love, on the night of ihe 19th ultimo, whilst in Silver- street, in the parish of St. James's, Bristol, a Pocket- book, containing £ 62 in gold, and some silver. By two Men of the following description : STE- PHEN ANDREWS, alias DAPPER UNDERWOOD; he is about 22 years of age, about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, sallow complexion, black bushy liair, U.,*,- visage, and walks quick ; dressed in a brown velveteen shooting jacket, and sometimes in a light Chesterfield wrapper, black cloth trousers, boots, and black hat. The other Man goes by the name of TIM ; he is between 30 and 40 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, light carrotty hair, small carrotty whiskers, florid complexion, summer- frec- kled, turns one knee in when walking, and has an awkward gait; dressed in a short round blue jacket, black waistcoat, dark ker- seymere trousers, boots, and black hat.— Information to be given to the Superintendent of police, Bridewell- street, Bristol, who holds a warrant for their apprehension.— [ Bow- street, June 25. J Stolen, on the 20th ultimo, in one of the Courts of Law, Westminster, from the Person of Mr. Williams, asilk Handker- chief, marked ' J. W. ;' a black Japan Snuff- box; a handsome Latin Book, which is a Breviarium ; and some Coppers.—[ Metro- politan Police- office, June 24 j Stolen, from the Person of Mr. Parsons, while viewing the Regatta, near the ' Duke's head,' Putney, an old- fashioned double- cased silver Watch, the name of ' Parsons' engraved on the case.—[ Metropolitan Police- office, June 24.] Stolen, from the Person of Mr. John Webber, 44, Bruns- wick street, Poplar, while in the ' Feathers' public- house, Dock, head, Bermondsey, thirteen sovereigns. By two Men: one about 5 feet 7 inches high, light complexion, sandy hair, and small whiskers, dressed in a blouse, and light trousers ; the other, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion, and black hair; dressed in a dark dress coat, and black trousers. W ' on the Seal; a scent Bottle, in a German- silver stand, not marked, two diaper |>> droom Towels, marked ' Grace, No. 24, 1834 '— A Reward of £ 10 is offered by J. Grace, Esq., and a further Reward of £ 10 by the Wallsend, Wittington, and Howden Association, to any person who will give such informa tiou as may lead to the apprehension and conviction of the of- fender or offenders.—[ Metropolitan Police- office, July 1.] On the nig'nt of the 26th ultimo, the Shop of Mr. William Brindley, woollendraper, of Tenant- street, Derby, was feloni- ously broken arid. entered, and a number of figured Cashmere and other Waistcoat- pieces stolen therein.— A Reward of Five Gui- neas will be paid by the Derby Association for the Prosecution of Felons; and a further Reward of Five Guineas by the said Wil- liam Brindley, to any peison who will give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders.—[ Bow- sheet, June 28.] On the night of the 26th ultimo, the Dwelling- house of Mr. D H Brady, of Wood- street, Brompto i, Kent, was feloniously broken and entered, and the following prope ty stolen therefrom viz.: a double - bottomed engine - turned silver levcrj Watch maker's nam" ' John Isaacs, Chathiin,' number unknown; a consular - cased double - bottomed engine- turned silver lever Watch, maker's name ' Wilson, Liverpool;' an old- fashioned double- cased silver Watch, vertical movement, engraved on the back of the case ' John Lambly; ' a pair of silver Watch caseS » without a movement; sundry pieces of old Gold ; three or four ; old gold Rings, out of repair; and sundry watchmaker's Tools, j including an Eyeglass.—[ Bow street, June 28.] On ihe night of the 21st ultimo, the Shop of Mr. William White, Upton upon-> evern, was feloniously broken and entered, and the following articles stolen therefrom, viz : a German- silver W atch, witli seconds hands, and capped, maker's name ' George Speeding, Loidcn, No. 54074 ;' a double- cased silver ditto, maker's name ' Hallison, No. 16488,' new; a single- cased ditto, maker's name ' Wm. White, Tewkesbury, No. Ill,' new; a sil- ver hunting Watch, capped, maker's name ' Wm. White, Tewkes- bury, No. 1373,' new; and a double- cased small silver ditto, maker's name ' R. Thompson, Liverpool, No. 849 ' Two Men of tl e following description are suspected ol having committed the burglary : one is about 27 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, light complexion, very slightly pitted with the small- pox, and thin whiskers; dressed when last seen at Upton, in a white blouse, or dark coatee, red spotted vest, and corduroy trousers ; the other is about 25 or 26 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, thin, fair complexion, little or no - whiskers, and roman nose, dressed in a white blouse, or dark vest, and corduroy trousers; he also had a dark coatee with him. They are both slight built, and frequent low lodging- houses.— Information to be given to Thomas Petford, superintendent of police, Upton- upon- Severn, Worcestershire.— I Bow- street, June 26.] Lafe on the night of the 19th ultimo, the Dwelling- house of Mr. Richard Weaver, of Lizard- Grange, in the parish of Tong, in the county of Salop, was feloniously broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein, viz.: a pair of men's Blucher Boots, nailed with small sprigs in the fore part; ten and a half yards of coarse brown Holland, new; a mahogany Shav- ing- case, from 8 to 9 inches long, and 6 inches wide, a Razor, with white handle, a painter's Bru.- h, with the handle cut off", and a Looking- glass in the lid of the Case; two biscuit China Ornaments, one a Girl with a lamb under one arm, and a pitcher in the other hand, and the other a Man resting on a Spade, the handle of the spade has been broken and stuck with cement.— Whoever will give such information as shall lead to the appre- hension and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive a "- Reward of £ 2. Information to be given to C. Bawler, police- officer, Albrighton, Salop constabulary, near Wolverhampton,— | Bow- street, June 24. J HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Left, at Pershore Fair, on the 26th ultimo, and supposed to have been stolen, a Dark Brown Horse, aged, nearly 16 hands high, two hind legs white half- way to the hock, has been fired on both fore feet, large head, and a short switch tail.— Information to be given to William Harris, superintendent of police, I'er- shore, Worcestershire.—\ Bow- street, July 1.] Stolen, on the evening of the 24th ultimo, from a Field in the township of Tintwistle, in the county of Chester, the property of Benjamin Cooper, a Light Grey She Ass, in good condition, with a slit on the left nostril, which had been cut with a knife. Supposed by a Man dressed in a short blue slop, and white billy- cock hat: he was traced from Tintwistle to Meathop and to the Woodlands, from thence to near Ashbourn, in Derbyshire, where the Ass is supposed- to be.— All reasonable expenses will be paid on the recovery of the said Ass, on application to Joseph Little, special high constable, Hyde, or to Isaac Bradshaw, po- lice- officer, Hollingworth.—[ Bow- street, July J. j Stolen or strayed, from the Mountain, Monmouthshire, be- tween Rhymney and Tredegar, on the 14th ultimo, a Black Mare Pony, the property of Morgan Bryant. She is 12 hands high, white star on the foiehe id, ' H J.' on the right side, a hole on the off side of the ear, switch tail, and a cord- mark on the off fore foot.—£ 1 Reward will be paid to any person who will give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the same. Infor- mation to ue given station, Rhymney.- to the owner, or to - f Bow- street, July 1.] sergeant Pirn, Folic Stolen, late on the night of . the 29th ultimo, or early the following morning, a large sized Bay Cart Horse, 10 years old, 16 hands high, one white fetlock behind, and is long in the barrel.— Whoever will give such information as shall lead to tl. c apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders shall receive £ 5 Reward. All reasonable expenses will be paid on application to Mr. Robert Barnes, sheriff's officer, Woodbridge, Suffolk.—\ Bow- street, July 1.1 Stolen from Mold, during the night of the 26th ultimo, the property of Mr. Jones, Pen y- fford, near Mold, a Biy Mare, about 15 hands high, aged, black legs, and a small white star on the forehead. She was traced through Wrexham to Newcastle- under- Lyne, and is supposed to have had her tail cut. She was then in the possession of a Man, apparently a gipsy, about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion, long hair, and a roman nose ; dressed in a light coat, light- coloured hat, and had on, or under him a white smock frock.— A Reward of Ten Guineas will be paid on the apprehension and convic- tion of the offender or offenders, by the Mold Association for the Prosecution of Felons, in addition to all reasonable expenses. Information to given to Christopher Carnes, police- officer, Mold, Flintshire.—| Bow- street, July 1.1 Stolen, on the night of the 29th ultimo, or eariy the follow- ing morning, from a Meadow in the parish of Hoo. county o Suffolk, a Bright Bay Cart Hoise, about 16 hands high, 10 years old, one white fetlock behind ( supposed the off foot), coarse mane, a small mark on the forehead, and long barrel.— A hand- some Reward and all reasonable expenses will be paid by Mr. Brooke, of Hoo aforesaid, to any person who will give such in- formation as may lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the Horse. Information to oe given at the Constabulary- office, Woodbridge, Suffolk,- ™ [ Bow- street, July 1.] 3290 POLICE GAZETTE. July 1. A Chesnut Hackney Mare, about 14 hands high, aged, with • white streak down the face, near knee broken, near fore fetlock white, off hind leg white nearly up to the hock, a little white just above the hoof of the near hind leg, and several saddle marks; also, a nearly new Saddle, maker's name ' C. Bagee, Newmark- et,' a white plush Saddle- pad, double rein gag Bridle ( nearly new), with a strong plain gag Bit, maker's name ' Greatrex,' and a Breast- plate, with stout plated rings ( much worn), were left at the ' Bull Inn,' Ware, on the afternoon of the 4th of May last, by a respectable- looking Man, between 25 and 30 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, and rather thin ; dressed in a New- market cut coat ; he also left an old Macintosh coat with the " pockets cut out. He gave orders to the Ostler for the Mare to be well taken care of until he returned ; he then went to London, via the Railway from Ware ( he did not slay at the ' Bull' more than five or ten minutes), and as lie lias not since been seen or heard of, it is suspected the Mare, Saddle, & c,, have been stolen. — Information to be given to Robert T. Barnes, inspector of po- lice, Ware, Herts.— 1 Bow- street, July 1.] Stolen, on the night of the 29th ultimo, or early the following morning, from a Field, in the parish ot Great Bowden, in the county of Leicester, a Light Bay Coach Horse, 4 years old, full 15 hands high, long mane and tail, the mane lying on the wrong side, a white heel behind, collar- marked on the breast, is partly broke, but never had on a saddle ; the property of the Trustees of the late Mr,, O. Furnival, of Market Harborough.— A Reward of £ 10 will be paid on the apprehension and conviction of the of- fender or offenders. Information to be given to the Chief Con- stable of the Leicestershire Constabulary, Police- office, Leicester. -—[ Bow- street, July 1.] Found straying at Coulsdon, supposed to be stolen, twenty AVether Sheep, pitch- mark on the rump ' A.' or ' M.' in a circle, part of the mark has been picked out.— [ Metropolitan Police- office, July 1.] The Sorrel Horse advertised in the ' Police Gazette ' of the 26th instant, as having been stolen or strayed from the parish of Outwell, Norfolk, has been recovered and restored to the owner. —| Bow- street, July 1.] The Brown Mare advertised in the ' Police Gazette' of the 24th ultimo, as stolen from Mr. George Minshall's, of Wolver- ton, near Church Stretton, " Shropshire, has been recovered and restored to the owner.—[ Bow- ftreei, July 1.] SAMUEL HAWKES, of Lindsell, coal carter and dealer, stands committed for further examination at the Great Bardfield Petty Sessions, on the 8th instant, on suspicion of stealing a Bay Mare, which is detained by the Constabulary. The Mare is about 14J hands high, rising 7 years old, black legs, mane, and switch tail, saddle- marks on both sides, and oldwound behind the off shoulder, the off knee recently broken, and very low in con- dition.— Information to be given to the Superintendent, Essex Constabulary, Great Baidfield.— 1 Bow- street, July 1.] Stolen or strayed, on the night of the 28th ultimo, from Broadgate Farm, Steeple Bumpstead, the property of Alexander Brown, Esq , a Bright Bay Mare, 7 years old, 14 hands high, black mane and tail, a mark on the inside of the near hind foot, near the hoof, a small white star on the forehead, and a very small white mark on one of the hind feet, and is slightly touched in her wind. Also, a Bay Horse, 4 years old, 15 hands high, black mane and tail, a small white mark on the near fore foot, a small star in the forehead, a white spot on the near nostril, a mark on the off side of the face, and is rather high bred. Neither the Horse or Mare have been docked.— Information to be given to the Superintendent of Police, Great Bardfield.—[ Bow- street, July 1.] Lost, supposed to be stolen, on the night of the 26th ultimo, from a Stable at Little Compton, Gloucestershire, a Brown Ware, 14 hands high, 9 years old, switch tail, two white marks below the off hip, the off ear cropped, several white hairs in the face, and a white heel; the property of Mr. Thos. Partington.— Information to be given to George Harris, police- sergeant, Sta- tion- house, Moreton, Gloucestershire.—[ Bow- street, Jnue 29.1 Stolen, from a Field situate at Pen- y- ffordd, near the town of Mold, on the night of the 26th ultimo, or early the following morning, a Bay Mare, belonging to Mr. John Jones, druggist, Mold ; she is about 15 hands high, with a small white star in the forehead, black legs, and aged.— Ten Guineas Reward will be paid by the Stewards of the Mold, Nerquis, and Tryddyn As- sociation for the Prosecution of Felons, to any person who will give such information as will lead to the conviction of the offend- er or offenders. Carnes, Police- office, Mold, Flintshire.—[ Bow- street, June 29 ] Stolen or strayed, late on the 25tli ultimo, from a Field in the parish of Bryneglwys, county of Denbigh, a Light Bay Horse, about 7 years of age, 14 hands high, black mane and legs, long switch tail, a white star on the forehead, has a peculiar mark on one of its hind legs, under the first joint; the property of Hum- phrey Hughes, farmer, of Bryneglwys aforesaid.— Information to be given to Samuel Jones, P. C. No. ! 3, Llanarmon- yn- Yale, Denbighshire;—[ Bow- street, June 29.] Stolen or strayed, from Eythrop- lane, in the parish of Sione, near Aylesbury, Bucks, early on the morning of the 26th ultimo, a Light Iron Grey half- bred Horse, about 14 hands high, rising 6 years old, wide in the ear, bang tail, nearly white in the lace, grizzled on the shoulder from the use of the collar, has a small blemish on one knee, and a small saddle- mark on the near side; the property of Mr. Job Turner, gardener, of Stone.— It stolen, £ 1 Reward will be paid on the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the Horse; and if strayed, all reasonable expenses will be paid, on application to Mr. Job Turner, the owner. Information to be given to J. Cornaby, inspector of police, Aylesbury, Bucks.— J Bow- street, June 29.] Found, in the possession of a Gipsy, on the 26th ultimo, at Leintwardine, supposed to have been stolen, a Half- bred Chesnut Mare, 3 years old, about 13^ hands high, with a white stripe down the face to the nostrils, the near fore foot is white, is a little lame in the right hind foot, switch tail, and in low condi- tion.— Information to be given to John Richardson, superintend- ent of police, Leintwardine, Herefordshire.—[ Bow- street, June 28.] Stolen, on the night of the 25th . ultimo from a Yard at Trumpington, near Cambridge, the property of Mr. Thomas Willmot, two Horses : one a Bay Cart Mare; the other a Nag, very much scarred on the fore legs, and has been burnt on the hind legs.—[ Metropolitan Police- o/ jUce, June 28.] Stolen or strayed, on the night of the 23rd ultimo, or early the following morning, from a Close in tie parish of Stuchburv, in the county of Northampton, two Shear Hog Sheep, marked • W. W.' on the near side, and clipped in the off ear; the pro- perty of Mr. William Whitton.— If stolen, whoever will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive £ 50 Reward, on appli- cation to the said William Whitton ; if strayed, whoever wili restore them to the said owner, shall be handsomely rewarded and have all reasonable expenses paid. M'Manus, chief constable, Town- hall, Hull, by whom a Reward of £ 5 will be paid on conviction.—| Bow- street, June, 28. | WILLIAM TOONE, late of Leicester, stands charged with being concerned with his brother GEORGE TOONE ( now in custody) with stealing a very considerable quantity of Plate, from the Dwelling- house of vamuel Bankett, Esq., of Oxford- street, Leicester; the whole of which Plate has since been traced, with the exception of five dessert Forks, fiddle- handled, wiih crest, as having been pledged at Nottingham, Derby, and Lough- borough. The said WILLIAM TOONE was servant to Samuel Bankett, Esq. He is 24 or 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, pale complexion, light hair, small light whiskers, very thin face, rather pimpled, of a melancholy and downcast1 appear- ance, and is very slender made; was dressed when helefi Leices- ter, on the 21st instant, in company with his brother GEORGE, in a green lappelled coat, light waistcoat, drab trousers, Wei lington boots, and black hat. They went together to Loughbo- rough, and pledged a portion of the Plate; they afterwards took different roads, GEORGE to Derby, where he was apprehended on offering parts of the Plate for sale, and is now in custody. J Description of a Man who has alsconded from Sheen, in the north of Staffordshire, on the 21st ultimo, after having at- tempted to commit a Rape on a Child there. He is about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, light complexion, with rather bushy sandy whiskers half way down towards the chin, and very siout made ; dressed in a light- coloured fustian frock coat, light coloured plaid trousers, and low- crowned black hat. He took with him in a bundle, tied in a blue silk handkerchief with a white edge, a dark cloth surtout coat, light- coloured vest, and brown cassimere trousers. Description of a Person in custody in Carnarvon County Gaol, on a charge of Felony, and who is supposed to be an escaped Convict. He states his name to be WILLIAM GEORGE HILL, born at Colchester, State of Vermont, North America, 28 years of age, a seaman out of employment, paid off at Bristol six months ago from the ' Emmeline,' Capt. Wm. Jones, of that port. On the right hand he has the roman letters ' L. C.,' un- derneath the figure cf a woman on the wrist, an oval and a ship on the wind encircled by two lines, above the figures of a male and female about 4 inches high, on the breast is a full- length description ol a frigate 6 inches square, on the left hand is a full- length figure of a female with a flower- bud in her hand, on the arm the emblem of the United States of America in the sh^ pe of a female holding the national flag, a viper issuing from the ground around the staff, and an emblem in her left hand, another half- length figure of a female with two branches of olive round it, above that the figure of a man, a sailor, aud in a bed by it a woman, with the figure above that of an angel; all stained with Indian ink. lie is 5 feet 8J inches high, dark grey hair, dark grey eyes, well set, apparently of strong sinews ; can both read and write, and states he was on board the ' Warspite' frigate. | Bow- street, July 1 . J On the evening of the 21st ultimo, as Mr. William Timms, of Ascett, in the parish of Whichford, in the county of War- wick, was looking round the Home Buildings of his father's Farm, he discovered a Man in the Hen- roost, who had com- menced Killing Fowls, with whom he closed, and a despe- rate struggle ensued. The Man appeared from 30 to 33 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, rather sallow complexion, with sandy whiskers : he is supposed to belong to a large party of Gipses, who have been camping in the counties of Warwick and Oxford of laie, and is a tinker by trade; he was severely wound- ed and bruised about the head and lace. In his escape lie drop- ped a figured cctton velvet Cap with two tassels, a tinker's Kit, consisting ol a Hammer, Scissors, soldering Tools, 8cc. & c.; also, a boy's plaid Dress, newly washed, three yards of unbleached, Calico, a pair of black Trousers neatly mended at one knee, and a pair of white cord hunting Breeches : the latter is ascer- tained to have been stolen on the same day from the Drying- ground of Mr. J. He is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 74 inches high sallow complexion, dark hair, light hazel eyes, irregular teeth, one of his ack teeth out, smart appearance, has the letters ' O I = R' on ihe left arm, and a scar on the right arm.
