JOSEPH DOBSON, advertised in the ' Police Gazette' of the 7th of Jul} la « t, charged on the Coroner's Inquisition with the Wilful Murder of his Father, John Dobson, at Oven- den, near Halifax, has been apprehended, and committed to York Castle for trial.—\ iiow- strect, October 21. j I'OHGERY. Abs onded from Rochdale, on the afternoon of the 17tli instant, charged with Forgery, a young Man named ABRAHAM ARMITAGE. He appears to be about 18 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light hair, pale complexion, pockpitted, has a boyish appearance, and is a painter by trade ; dressed in a short blue cloth jacket, light fustian trousers, and a sky blue cloth cap with a nib. It appears from books left behind him, that he is the sou ofa stonemason in Prescot or the neighbourhood, and also that he attended the Methodist Sunday- school there in July 1839. He is supposed to be now either in Manchester, Prescot, Swiuton, or Liverpool.— Information ti be given to J. RICHARD MOTT, advertised in the ' Police Gazette' of the 29th ultimo, charged with Housebreaking, is still at large.— A Reward of £ 5 will be paid on his apprehension and convic- tion. Information to be given to Samuel Perkins, chief police- officer, Aylesbury. Bucks, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- sion.—[ Bow- street, October 25.] Between the hours of 1 and 5 o'clock on the afternoon of the 90th instant, the Farm- house of Francis Deighton, Esq., near Northallerton, in the North Riding Of York, was feloniously broken and entered, and the following property sto'en therefrom, viz.: a superfine brown frock Coat, with silk buttons, and lined with figured stuff; a dark coloured woollen Waistcoat, with silk spots; a pair of woollen cord Breeches; a black Hat, with the name of ' John Cook' written in the inside ; a black and white woollen plaid Shawl; a Thibet Shawl, black middle and colour- ed border, with fringe; a cotton Shirt; two silk Neckerchiefs, one black with white silk spots, the other Turkey red ; two cot- ton Handkerchiefs ; two pair of women's Boots, with black cloth legs; a pair of men's Shoes; a clothes Brush, and a hat ditto; all nearly new.— Information to be given to Daniel Smith, po- lice- officer, Norlhallerton.—[ Bow- street, October 24. J Between the hours of 1 o'clock on the afternoon of the 15th instant, and 8 o'clork the following morning, the National School- room, situate between Buckminster and Sewstern, in the county of Leicester, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : a bass Horn, with ivory mouth- piece ; a German Flute, with brass tips ; a new tin Box, size 7 inches by 3J, three compartments, and ' F. G. Bulson,' written inside ; three new powder Flasks, and an old one ; a new shot Bag ; sundry Books ; a large quantity of Amethysts, Emeralds, and Amber, polished and unpolished stones; about six dozen of drawing and other Pen- cils ; a gun Screw and Brush ; a quantity of manuscript Papers ; a wafer Stamp; a quantity of Jet, unwrought; part of a case of surveying Instruments ; and a Manchester order Rosette, in the centre Heart and Hand ; the property of Mr. John Gailes, Bul- - on, of Sewstern.— Information to be given to the Chief Constable of the Leicestershire Constabulary, Police- office, Leicester.— f Bow- street, October 23.] ROBBERY PROM THE PERSON. Stolen, on the 22nd instant, from the Person of Mr. A. John- son, 32, Edmund- place, Aldersgate- street, while in No. 2, French- alley, Gosw ell- street, a French gold Watch, open face, maker's name ' Le poud, No. 1786,' with a gold brequet Key. By a Female.—| Metropolitan Police- office, October 25. ] Stolen, from the Person of Mr. Thomas Griffiths, of Vow- church, Herefordshire, on the 20th instant, a double- cased silver Watch, made by ' Buttingforud, Liverpool, No. 2532;' when stolen, it had a steel long- link Chain, wilh a gold Seal with red stone, and two brass Keys ( one with a red, and the other a blue stone), attached; also, a £ 5 Note, of the Ross Bank, and two Ilalf- cro. vns. The robbery is supposed to have been committed by a Man about 23 years of age, short, with sandy whiskers growing under the chin and rather bushy at the sides, hair straight and rather long at the sides, has a mark on his forehead, and respectable in appearance; was dressed in a brown dress coat, and plaid or cross- bar waistcoat.— Information to be given jo George Adams, superintendent of police, Hereford.—[ Bow- tfreel, October 25.] Stolen, on the night of the 20th iuslaut, from the Person of Mr. William Skeffington, of Welham, while at Market liar- borough Fair, in the county of Leicester, a small silver hunting Watch, double bottom, the name of' William Skeffington, Wel- ham,' engraved inside the outer case, makers' names ' B. and W. Gray, Cheapside, Leicester, No. 59969.'— Information to be given to the Chief Constable of the Leicestershire Constabulary, Police- office, Leicester.— j Bow- street, October 23.] Description of two Men, who stopped Mr. Bunkall, butcher, of Downham Market, on the high road near Lott Bridge, Up- well, Norfolk, about 7 o'clock on the evening of the 21st instant, and robbed him of a Purse, containing a Half- sovereign, and about 12s. in silver One is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, well made, of active clean appearance, dark com- plexion, hair and whiskers; they have the appearance of stone- masons or bricklayers ; the other was dressed in a flannel jacket, light beaverteen trousers, broad striped shirt with figures between, dark cap with peak, and wore a silver ring on the little finger ; the other dressed in a light coloured sleeve waistcoat, light bea verteen trousers, and cloth cap. Stolen or strayed, from the neighbourhood of the Four Ashes Station, upon the line of the Grand Junction Railway, on the ltjih instant, a strong Light- coloured Gelding Ass, 5 years old, lame of one of the fore legs from a bruised foot, the hoof of which is very remarkable, one part being new, the other old ; has a cross upon his shoulders, and a pale black stripe down the back ; has had a bruise upon his rump near the root of bis tail; has been recently shod, the bottoms of the shoes are quite flat, and without knobs.— A handsome Reward will be paid on the restoration of the same, on application to the owner, Mr. Thomas Carless, at the Station aforesaid.—[ Bmo- s< ree<, Oct. 25.] Stolen or strayed, from a Field near the ' Mansel's Arms,' in the parish of Llanarthney, Carmarthenshire, on the night of the 13th instant, a Light Bay Mare, aged, about 15 hands high, with white face, two white hind feet, and a switch tail.— W ho- ever will give such information as shall lead to the recovery of the same, shall be handsomely rewarded, and have all reasonable expenses paid, on application to the owner, Mr. David Jones, Wooler Factory, Llanrhystid, near Aberystwith, Cardiganshire. •—[ Bow- street, October 25. Also, a youn^ Horse.— Information to be given to Mr. Ward, Handsworth, or to T. Raynor, Town- hall, Sheffield.—[ Bow- street, Octobcr 23.] Stolen or strayed, on the night of the 20th instant, a Bay Gelding, between 14 and 15 hands high, black mane, black switch Hail, has a lump on the back under the saddle, 7 years old, near knee broken, and has beep recently blistered.— Information to be given to Superintendent Kelly, Bishop's Stortford, Ilerts,— [ Bow- strcet, October 23.] Stolen or strayed, from a Field adjoining Dan y Graig, on the night of the 14th instant, a Bright Bay Gelding, rising 6 years old, nearly 16 hands high, one white hind foot, has a white spot on his back on the near side, a black switch tail, short black mane and fore- top, is stout and good- looking, and marked with the crupper.— Information to be given to the Superintendent of Police, Swansea.— fBow- strcet, October 20.] Stolen, from a Field at Asperley- lane, in the parish of Bas- ford, on the 16th instant, or early the following morning, a Bay Horse ; the property of Mr. Brown, farmer. The said Horse is 15 or 16 hands high, star on the forehead, long tail, lias the mark of a kick on the inside of one of the hind legs, and the shoes are marked with a star.— Information to be given to William Mitchell, superintendent of county constabulary, Snein- ton, near Nottingham,—[ Bow- strcct, October 20.] Stolen or strayed, ort he 15th instant, from the Windmill- yard, Toothill, in the parish ol Santlord Rivers, a Dark Mare Pony, rising 8 years old, 13£ hands high, white star in forehead extending to the nose, off bind fetlock white, fore feet contracted, and a small switch tail; the property of Henry Halls, miller, Toothill, Stanford Rivers.— All reasonable expenses wiil be paid by the said Henry Halls, on the restoration of the same Infor- mation to be given at the Police- office, Chipping Ongar, or to any Police- constable of the Essex County Constabulary.—[ Bau- street, Oct. 19.] Absconded from March, Cambridgeshire, MICHAEL M'GLINN, alias JAMES DAVANAL, alias MICHAEL KELLY ( supposed to be a deserter), stealing and taking with Jiim the following articles of wearing Apparel, the property of Thos.
