Instances have occurred of persons having the seats in the chapel torn to pieces, and thrown into the road after their names have been mentioned from the altar, M'Gaver 11894- 11899. 11904 The mentioning a person's name from the altar injures the character of that person amongst his fellow parishioners ; the clergyman doing it would be liable to an action, M'Gaver 11968- 11983.
