There was only one polling- place, and the numbers polled in each day were, viz.— First day, 2d August 1837 - Second day, 3d- Third day, 4th - Fourth day, 5th - 30 December 1837. TOTAL - - - - 108 - 159 - 24 - 11 - - 302 John Graham, Seneschal and Returning Officer. Votes for David Ker, esq. - Votes for John Keown, esq. - Votes for Robert Thompson, esq. - Votes for James Christie Whyte, esq. Marksmen among the votes for David Ker, esq. Act; and with respect to the borough of Newry, which was contested at the late election, I cannot make any return of the number of votes polled thereat, and of the number of marksmen among them, for each candidate, inasmuch as neither the poll- books nor indenture of return have been lodged in the office of the clerk of the peace by the returning rf: ~ officer of that borough. 3 July 1838.
