Note.— There are 27 parishes and precincts sharing in the election ; and, in consequence of persons being entered on the freeman's list, and also as occupiers and freeholders in many different parishes, the actual number of electors on the register cannot be stated, but they are supposed to be about 3,150. There was no contest for Exeter at the last general election. 19 December 1837. Joshua Hickman Stabback, Sheriff. EYE. Number of electors registered for 183( 5, 301, of whom 252 were qualified as 10/. house- holders and 49 as freemen. Number of electors registered for 1837, 328, of whom 278 were qualified as 10/. house- holders and 50 as freemen. There was no contest at the late general election. N. B.— The Parliamentary boundaries of the said borough include the following parishes, viz. Eye, Hoxne, Denham, Redlingfield, Occold, Thorndon, Braiseworth, Yaxley, Horan- deston, Brome, and Oakley ; but the municipal boundaries of the said borough include only the parish of Eye. John Clouting, 15 December 1837. Returning Officer. FINSBURY. THE number of electors registered for the borough at the annual revision of the lists in 1836 was 12,264 ; and at the recent one of 1837 was 13,300. 7,489 actually polled at the last general election. This latter number is exclusive of parties who applied to poll, but whose votes were rejected on the ground of loss of qualification, or doubt of personal identity. ? This being one of the boroughs created by the Reform Act, the constituency is composed entirely of householders, & c. above the annual value of 10/. This is, therefore, the only qualification.
