There are no freemen entitled to vote in the election of a Member to serve in Parliament for this borough, nor any class of electors belonging to the borough by the name of freemen. The total number of municipal electors on the register of this borough returning a Member to serve in Parliament, after the revision of 1837, is 379; and the number of such electors who are not also qualified to vote for a Member to serve in Parliament, is 17; making the total of the number of municipal electors 396. 17 February 1838.
