AT THE LAST GENERAL ELECTION. 143 / ELGIN AND CONTRIBUTORIES. ELGIN. Number of Electors Registered. The sitting Member for the Elgin district of burghs having been returned at the last general election without opposition, no poll of the electors took place. 11 December 1837. Patrick Duff. BANFF. The number of electors on the register for 1836 is 218; of these 92 are enrolled a proprietors, and 126 as tenants; of which last number 27 are enrolled as proprietors and tenants. The number on the register for 1837 is 215; of these 90 are enrolled as proprietors, and 125 as tenants ; of which last number 25 are enrolled as proprietors and tenant. At the last general election there was no poll in this burgh. George R. Forbes, Town Clerk. CULLEN. Number of Electors Registered. There was no poll took place in this burgh at the last general election. 29 January 1838. George Grant. INVERARY. Number of Electors Registered. There can be no return of the electors who polled at the late general election, as the district of burghs in which Inverary is situated was not contested ; and even if it had, the town clerk of Inverary would have made no report, Elgin being the returning burgh of the district. 23 January 1838.
