Did the circumstance of his name appearing in the city- rate collector's book have any influence on your not visiting the man ?— I did not visit any man who did not vote m 183/ ; that man does not appear upon my book as having; voted m 183/, still he might have voted; but if he did, I fancy it was in the other interest, and therefore, not wishing to impugn their votes, I never visited them, either to support their votes or otherwise. 3332. Did you visit the house of Francis Curtin, of Wisdom's- lane, who is spoken to in answer 1870This man did not vote since 1835, and I did not visit him. 3333- Did you visit the house of David Cahill, of Rawbuck's- lane, who is spoken to by Mr. Young, in answer 1882 ?— Mr. Lane, in his answer, 188/, said this house is valued in the city- rate books at 61.; he does not appear to have voted since 1832 ; I did not visit his premises. 3334. Did you visit the house of Peter Canning, wireworker of Henry- street, who is spoken to by Mr. Young, in answer 1891 ?— This is in his part of the city; Ave did not visit it; Mr. Henry Barry will speak to his value. 3335- Did you visit the house of James Ellard, of Quaker- road, AVIIO is spoken to by Mr. Young, in ansAver 1901 ?-— His house being considered in the liberties, where ground for small vegetable gardens is of value, Ave did not visit it; that is, neither Mr. Gould nor I, for Ave Avent together. 333b. Did you visit the house of John Foley, of North Francis- street, Avho is spoken to by Mr. Young, in answer 1918 ?— The note I have is, " The front, by a recent change in the New Weigh- house road,, may be of better \ Talue; but, in in its present state, it is scarcely value;" I mean in the present state of the repair of the house; but from its presenting a front view now, I think the value of the ground is greatly enhanced, and it may be of 10 J. value. • 3337- Mr. Serjeant Jackson.] Are you able to say Avhether it is in bad repair r — It is in very bad repair; I do not consider it as house at all; I only consider it as ground. 3338. Are you of opinion that the ground is worth 107. a year?— It is doubt- ful/ in consequence of the dilapidated state; but by SAveeping away the back roAV of houses and opening a front AieAv, you greatly enhance the value 3339. Is this street in which the house is of great value ?— They have swept away a number of houses, and those that are brought to the front are greatly enhanced in value. 3340. Chairman.] How long ago has that been done?—' Within 12 months. 3341.
