Scotch Post Towns. are delivered by the General Post throughout the king- dom free of any postage- duty. N. B— No Newspapers, Parliamentary Proceedings, or other public papers, are considered as coming within the range of these privileges, unless the same be sent either without covers, or in covers open at the ends. And they must not contain any sort of enclosure, or have writing or mark of any kind upon them, or on their covers, other than the simple address or superscription. SUB- OFFICES TO ABERDEEN, AND RATE OF POSTAGE TO EACH. Postages. Blackburn, 4Jd. Brucklaw, 7d. Cluny, 4d. Kincardine O'Neil, 6£ d. Methlic, 6d. Monymusk 5d. New Deer, 6d. Rhynie, 7d. Skene, 4d. Strichen, 7d. Udny 4d. Whitehouse, 6d. The Mail is made up for these Offices at 6.15, A. M. ; before which hour all letters must be put into the Official Receiving- box. GENERAL PRINCIPLE upon which the following RATES of POSTAGE have been computed :— A single letter from any Post- Office in Scotland, England, or Wales, to any place not exceeding 15 miles from such office, ------- 4d. Forany distance above 15, and not exceeding20 miles, 5d. 20 „ „ 30 „ 6d. 30 „ „ 40 „ 7d. 50 „ „ SO „ 8d. 80 „ „ 120 „ 9d. 120 „ „ 170 „ lOd. 170 „ „ 230 „ lid. 230 „ ,, 300 Is. Od. And so on in proportion, the postage increasing pro- gressively one penny for a single letter for every additional 100 miles. A LIST of the POST TOWrNS in SCOTLAND, specifying also the COUNTY in which each is situate ; and the POSTAGE for a Single Letter from ABERDEEN. A half- penny must be added to the Postage of Letters for the Towns under- specified, with the exception of those marked with an asteric. Towns. Counties. P.
