APPENDIX ABERDEEN POST- OFFICE. The hours of attendance, every lawful day, are from 5.45, A. M. to 8.30, P. M. and on Sundays, from 5.45 to 9.30, A. M. and from 1 to 2.30, P. M. The first, or morning delivery, hy the Letter- Carriers, commences at 7.30, A. M. and includes all Foreign and English Letters and Newspapers forwarded to Edinburgh by the London and Carlisle Mails ; as also those from Edinburgh, Ireland, via Glasgow, Glasgow, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Montrose, & c. and their respective districts. The second, or afternoon delivery, comprising the cor- respondence brought by the different North Mails, takes place at 2.30, P. M. The delivery of Penny is combined with that of the General Post Letters; the Receiving- Box closing at 6.15 for the morning, and at 2.30 for the afternoon delivery. On Sundays and Fast- days, there is no delivery ; but the public may receive their letters on applying to the Letter- Carriers, who attend at the Office on those days for that purpose, from 7.30 to 9.30, A. M. and from 1 to 2.30, P. M. For the further accommodation of the public, Private Boxes are authorised at the Office, where letters may be retained until called for, and, if desired, accounts kept, and payments made, at the convenience of those availing themselves of such accommodation. Particular informa- tion as to fees, & c. may be had on application at the Window, Post- Office. Parties desirous of sending small sums of Money, not exceeding £ 5 5s. by Post, may obtain a money order, or note, payable at sight, on any Postmaster in Great Britain or Ireland, for the amount, on applying at the Office between the hours of 9, A. M. and 8, P. M. every lawful day. The fee demanded is 8d. for every £ 1, or fractional part of a pound ; and for sums exceeding £ 2, Is. additional of Stamp Duty. The North Mails are despatched every morning at 7 o'clock, and arrive here, as under :— Inverness at 12.40 P. M. Banff, 1.30 „ Ballater 1.30 „ Peterhead 12.15 „ lthynie 1.30 „ Methlic 2.0 ,. The South Mail is despatched daily at 3 o'clock, r. M. and arrives at 6.22, A. M. For the North Mails the official Letter- box is closed at 6.15, A. M, ; and for the South Mail, at 2.30, P. M. by the
