John Stewart - 40 - - ditto - - | - - April 2, 1828 : By Slave Court," 1 for being runaway upwards of six > months at one time - J - - - ditto. Robert Duncan - - A negro man, slave f to Sam1 Sutherland | - - Jan. 7, 1829 : By Slave Court, [ for assaulting and biting off the ear J of Charles Desgouttes, a slave - -- To be confined in the workhouse, at hard labour, for three months, and to receive 39 lashes on going in, and 39 lashes on coming out. John Condy - - A negro man, slave f to Her. Boreale - [ -- Feb. 13,1829 : By a petty Court f for summary Trials, for riotous ' conduct on the estate - - - To be confined in the workhouse, at hard labour, for one month, and to receive 39 lashes on going in, and 39 lashes when discharged. Bob Tavares - - - A mulatto man, slave _ to Jane Downer - - - July 1, 1829 : By Slave Court, for running away upwards of six months at one period, and being an incorrigible runaway - - - To be confined in the workhouse, at hard labour, for three months, and to receive 39 lashes on going in, and 39 lashes on his being dis- charged. Thomas Johnston and Lamont alias Edward - - J - - Two negro men, slaves, to Henry Forbes - - - July 1, 1829: By Petty Court,"! for cutting canes out of a cane- piece, belonging to Hart Hill estate, 1 with intent to steal the same - - - To be confined in the workhouse, at hard labour, for two weeks, and then each to receive 39 lashes. Francis King - - - A negro man slave - April 1,1829: - ditto - - - To be confined in the workhouse, al hard labour, for life. Died 5th of June 1829. Richard Gray - - - A negro man slave - Oct. 3, 1827: - ditto - -| - - To be confined in the workhouse of the said parish, at hard labour, for life. Died 17th of Sept. 1829. Jamaica Ss. " 1 I do hereby certify, That the foregoing is a true Return of all Prisoners confined in the Saint George's j> Workhouse of this Parish, according to a Return of the Supervisor of the said James Crump, \ Vorkhouse.
