ENGLAND. 1.— COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND. Sir, Carlisle, 31st Oct. 18129. IN answer to your letter of the 28th instant, requiring me to acquaint you whether any Jesuit or member of a religious order residing within the county of Cumberland had been registered at my office, in pursuance of the provisions of the 28th sec. 10 Geo. 4. c. 7, I haye to inform you only one; viz. on the " 10th October, Andrew Riding, aged 78, bom at Wigan in Lancashire, of the order of St. Benedict; the next immediate superior of the order the Rev. Thomas Robinson, Liverpool; the party residing at Warwick Bridge." I am, Sir, your most obedient
