io STATEMENT OF THE NUMBER OF ACRES N° 7.— Dioceses of DUBLIN AND GLANDELAGH— continued. 25.— Parish of Newcastle, County Wicklow : ACCORDING to the Maps in my possession, there are fourteen acres of land in the Glebes of this Parish; a portion of which, somewhat less than half an acre, has been appropriated to the use of the Parochial School house. All these lands are in a state of good cultivation. Newcastle, March 16, 1824. William Archer T Vicar of Newcastle. 26.— Parish of Delgany : Glebe Land - - - 2 acres, 3 roods, and 6 perches. 27.— Parish of Celbridge and Straffan : • An Account of all Glebe land in the possession of the Vicar of the United Parishes of Kildraught, otherwise Celbridge, and StrafFan, in the Archdiocese of Dublin and County of Kildare. Acres. Glebe at Kildraught - - - - - - 19 Ditto at Straffan 25 A piece of Celbridge Common, about ... 2 On the Glebe at StrafFan, the incumbent has built an excellent glebe house, in which he resides. He has also built offices, made a good garden, and improved the land. Part of the offices were maliciously burned, and he has rebuilt them at his own expense. These Glebes are profitable. None waste or barren. N. B.— The Incumbent has been deprived of two parts of the Glebe at Straffan, by the tenant who held one part, with a house thereon, on behalf of John Joseph Henry, Esq. and another part, through which a public road was made, at the instance of Mr. Henry, who promised to give the Incumbent land in lieu thereof, about an acre and a half, on which account the Incum- bent did not traverse the presentment, but which promise Mr. Henry never fulfilled. The other part Mr. Henry lays claim to as a part of his estate, but which appeared on a reference to gentlemen of the neighbourhood not to be the case; and although the reference was of his own appointment, he refused to give it up, and still retains possession thereof. Patrick Sands, Vicar. 28.— Parish of Dunganstown : THIS Parish contains 20 acres of arable ground. 2g.— Parish of Rathdrun : A STATEMENT of the Number of Acres forming the Glebe in the Parish of Rathdrum. Eleven acres, including house and garden, all arable and pasture ground. Richd Powell, Vicar. 30.— Parish of Ballintemple : Acre. Of uncultivated land Acres Of cultivated land i± J z CT£ S' 31.— Parish of Derralossory: THERE are 50 acres in the Glebe of this Parish; all of which were a short time since unpro- fitable. Incumbent has much improved 30 acres. The remainder is barren and unimproveable. March 21st, 1824. L. IV. Hepenstal, Minister. 32.— Parish of Castle McAdam. THERE is attached one Glebe, containing thirty acres, cultivated. March 17, 1824. Thomas Forster, Rector. 33.— Parish of Kinneagh : A SMALL Vicarage, very much partitioned and subdivided, among the lessees of the parties who own the tithes. Glebe, by estimation, 18 acres. Church in ruins for centuries - - - - Occasional duties done by the Curate of the adjoining Parish at a salary regulated before the Incumbent Vicar came to the Parish. „, , „. ...
