CHURCH ESTABLISHMENT OF IRELAND.' Appendix ( A)— continued. DIOCESE OF KILMORE. i — MANOR HAMILTON CHURCH is finished; but as there were some faults in the building, I would not certify it built sufficiently. URNEY CHURCH: The building of this church was left to the management of the vicar; the money was expended; the accounts tried before the parish, and sanctioned by them. Whether the expenditure was well managed, I cannot say; but the church is not finished sufficiently. Service has been performed in it by my licence for some years; and I have reason to think the church will be finished this summer. 3.— CARRIGALLEN CHURCH : The delay in this church is owing to the failure of two contractors, and a law- suit in consequence; the money borrowed was expended on the church; the parishioners are finishing it by assessments, and they inform me it will be finished this year. Service is performed in the new chureli. ' 60 4.— TEMPLEPORT CHURCH: The money borrowed has been expended ; and the building is finished, all but part of the tower and spire. The parishioners depended on subscription for part of the money, and they failed : however, they are raising the money to finish it by assessment, and they expect to be able to do so either this year, or at farthest the next. Service is performed in the new church by licence, 5.— KILLESHER CHURCH Is built; but as much damp came into the tower, I would not certify it built sufficiently till that was remedied. 6.— DRUMGOON CHURCH Was finished well, and taken off the hands of the builder; but before the year expired, the roof spread, and the walls were pushed out. The plan of the roof was given by the late Mr. Bowden, the architect of the Board; and, from every inquiry I could make from architects and builders, I am convinced the fault was in the plan. Service is still performed in it; and the walls that are injured will be rebuilt, and the Church new roofed, during the summer. 7.— LURGAN CHURCH: This church was nearly finished ; but was much injured by the storm on the eve of the 5th of last December, which has caused the delay in finishing: it will be finished early in the summer. Any further information I can give, is given by me in my returns to the House of Commons. GEORGE KILMORE. 241. Q
