4() FURTHER A. CCOU NTS RELATING TO THE Appendix ( A.)— continued. RATHDOWNEY UNION consists of three parishes ; they are contiguous. The extent of the Union is about one mile and an half from north to south, and about five miles from east to west. Rath- downey and Glashare united by act of Council in the year 1740; Kildelgy was episcopally united thereto by the present Diocesan. KILLERMOGH, one parish; it extends about one mile from east to west, and about half a mile from north to south. * » CASTLANE alias WHITECHURCH, one parish; it extends about one mile from north to south, and about half a mile from east to west. DUNKIT UNION consists of four parishes ; they are all contiguous. The extent of the Union is about four miles from north to south, and three miles from east to west. These parishes were united by act of Council in the year 1711. KILMACOW, one parish ; it extends from north to south better than three miles, and from east to west about two miles. CLONMORE UNION consists of two parishes; they are contiguous to each other. The benefice extends about one mile and a half in length from north to south, and about one mile in breadth from east to west. These parishes were united by act of Council in the year 1821. - LISTERLIN, one parish; it extends about three miles from north to south, and about one mile and an half from east to west. ROSBERCON UNION consists of six parishes; they are all contiguous, with the exception of one, - which is distant from the others about one mile. The extent of the Union from north to south, is about seven miles ; and from east to west, about three miles. These parishes were united by act of Council prior to the year 1686. This Union produces but little emolument, and is very mountainous. DUNMORE UNION consist of three parishes. The parish of Dunmore is distant from the others about two miles. The estimated'extenc of the Union is about three miles in length from north to south, and about one mile and an half in breadth from east to west. They were united by act of Council, cannot say at what period. COMER, one parish, extends about five miles from north to south, and about four miles from east to west. MOTHEL UNION consists of three parishes; they are contiguous to each other, and extend about eight miles in length, and about three miles and an half in breadth. These parishes have been episcopally united time immemorial by the respective Bishops of Ossory. KILLAMERY, one parish; the extent of this parish, from east to west, is about four miles, and • from north to south about two miles. EIRKE, one parish; it extends about four miles from north to south, and about three miles from east to west. SAINT MARY'S, one parish, situate within the city of Kilkenny. An Account of all Unions of Parishes now subsisting, effected by Episcopal Authority ; speci- fying the Number of Parishes, and whether Vicarages or Rectories, and the Date of Com- mencement of such Union; and the estimated Extent of the' Parishes so united, with the Name of the Bishop by whom such Union has been authorized. AGHOUR UNION, consisting of eight parishes, viz. the prebend or prebendal church of Aghour ; • the rectories and vicarages of Clomanta and Kilrush-, the rectories of Clashacrow and Rathbea ; the vicarages of Tubbridbretani, Sheffin, Clontubbrid, Coolcashin and Ballymenard. They are conti- guous to each other. The estimated extent of each is from one mile and less, to one mile and an half; the extent of the entire Union from north to south is about seven miles, and from east to west about eight miles. The rectories and vicarages of Clomanta and Kilrush, the rectories of Clasha- crow and Rathbea, and the vicarage of Tubbridbretani, have been united from time immemorial; but when, or by what authority, cannot state, as the records of the diocese do not afford any information on the subject. In the year 1782, the other rectories and vicarages, together with the prebend of Aghour, were episcopally united to the former by the then Lord Bishop of Ossory. RATIIDOWNEY UNION consists of three parishes, viz. the rectory and vicarage of Rathdowney, and the rectories of Glashare and Kildelgy, otherwise Kildellig; they are contiguous to each other,. The extent of the Union is about one mile and an half from north to south, and about five miles from v I east
