The cuftom of Surveyors is, he apprehends, to vifit each Tanner in their Surveys once in ten days. Examinant has fometimes vifited oftener. Gaugers in charge of Tanners vifit once in fix, and fometimes once only in ten days. Skinners are vifited generally every fecond day. The Gauger makes up a monthly voucher both for Tanners and Skinners; two copies of this are examined by the Surveyor, and being figned by him and the Gauger, are returned to the Colleftor, who tranfmits one of them to the Examinator of Excife.
